Re: Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood Will Skip the PlayStation 3

@ShogunRok I'm not familiar with MMO terminology, but if by 'grouping' you mean 'being forced to play with other people to clear a dungeon', that's when I stopped playing. Was a long time ago, and it is a bit of a shame, cos once the fixed the debacle of the first release, I really enjoyed it til about level 18.

Re: Poll: What Are Your Thoughts on PlayStation VR So Far?

Drawfull

Spent most of the day with it in between trying to get work done, and played bits of most everything that I have for it. Still no motion sickness to speak of - although I did get a slight dizzy feeling during the Job Simulator demo; probably too many donuts.

The Playroom platform game is really good, hope they do something with it. Rez Infinite is fantastic, especially with the 'full' VR settings turned on. I wish I had bought EVE Valkyrie having played Gunjack, but I'm gamed out now for this month. Also Thumper. The demo is intense and wish I'd grabbed that too.

All in all still very impressed. One occasion the tracking did the in-and-out wobble thing, but upon removing the headset, my physical head was in direct sunlight. Hasn't happened since.

Re: Sony Forecasting 'Hundreds of Thousands' of PlayStation VR Sales

In Spain, on Amazon (earlier), you could still get one by Saturday (or Monday if you're too far away from the distribution centres). UK Amazon has had 12th December for fulfilling pre-orders for ages.

I think it's safe to say that it's sold shedloads. Spain can be a bit backwards, but even with the good delivery option, it has been in the top 5 selling video game stuff for a long time.

I think this is a bit like Apple Watch. It might not sell millions, but it will certainly sell more than the competition almost immediately upon launch.

I am in nearly every post and I LOVE IT. It's really really good.

Just watched some Back to the Future (the end of 1, the start of 2) via Netflix. The resolution is adequate. You know when you spent ages trying to get scanlines to look good in MAME? Yeah, no problem. It's very cool and feels like a very large screen.

The 3D audio is different. I think I'd prefer real surround sound but turning away from the picture and the audio doing the right thing is pretty special.

@Furtin I think after a few minutes the DC graphics aren't really an issue - that's not to say they're good of course. I loved my time there so far. Especially the beginning where you're in the single seater and you look to your right and left and there's car(!) for the first time while it loads or whatever. FML it's good

I didn't get Batman or Thumper, but I'm gonna get me some Rez action and Rigs later. Battlezone is awesome fun.

Also, atm eurogamer have a live stream, and it's quite amusing. Tempted to get EVE Valkrie too after watching the stream there and playing Gunjack.

No motion sickness at all too

The graphics in DriveClub are a disappointment (apart from the car interiors which are incredible). But crashing into a wall is fecking realistic and even after a few occasions I was still recoiling as the car came towards it.

The force feedback seems a bit weak, and the volume seems a bit low, but it's still great despite the crap resolution. Hope Pro can upgrade it a little for me next month.

I've only got the demo (I think it's either in the download or on the blu-ray?). I'm waiting for the sun to go round the house rather than being even more of a hermit during the daytime, but about half an hour and I should have a shaded lounge.

I can't believe i forgot that I had a table and wheel in front of me after only two minutes. Mad.

Re: Review: DriveClub VR (PS4)

I was really hoping this would score well, especially since it's one of my pre-ordered and now paid-for titles. On the PlayStation Access vid they specifically asked him if it looked the same: he said yes. On the recent eurogamer podcast, Richard whatshisname said that it was very impressive and his co-presenters agreed. I mean, what?If it's so blurry that you can't make out the road then I'd say that should have been flagged before now, embargo or no.

Thanks for the review, Sammy.

@Napples What's your problem?

Pretty much everything you post is a snipe or slagging off of another member / mod here. Taking the piss about how old someone might be when you come across as a 12 year old?

Have you even considered that there are more gamers over 36 than under 18?

One of us will get banned, but I hope it's you.

Re: Fresh Final Fantasy XV Trailer Shows Off a Newer Build of the Game

@rjejr I thought you didn't have any variant of the PS4? I'm not sure what the choice is here, unless it's money, in which case why didn't you get one last week? If you're still holding out, regardless of what console this footage is from, you should be buying a Pro if money ain't a problem and a slim if it is, but if you want to get on board with Sony, it's not that difficult a proposition.

Back to FFXV, whilst I still have my pre-order, I still think this looks - and sounds - rubbish. It's almost as though QA have realised the actual gameplay is terrible, the story's weak and that, crap, we'd better pad the hell out of it asap. Here you are: a DEATH spell. Well, that's me sold for another few days. This is going to do massive damage to SE.

@Drawfull Careful on the language!
