@RainbowGazelle 'Once again, these mini reviews basically tell you nothing'.
I dunno about that. After reading the article, I came away with the impression that it's just another crappy short PSVR game. The review has enabled to me to make an informed decision with regard to not buying the title.
@BAMozzy 'I have no allegiance to any brand as I am much more interested in the games, not which platform I have to own to play them.'
I'm the same. I've always had a computer, since '81 and have bought both consoles. However, as I've mentioned previously, the need for me to own an MS console/annual subscription these days isn't that much of a priority, as most Xbox games can also be acquired on PC.
P.S. It was refreshing to read that section which I quoted you on.
Although I've never played SOCOM, from what I've heard (I may have misinterpreted) it sounds like the type of game which I would enjoy, i.e. Something a bit more grown-up and more akin to the original Ghost Recon titles, rather than the Assassin's Creed reskins which the GR series has now become.
@BAMozzy 'IF I owned a Gaming PC, then I could make do without buying an Xbox and chances are, the PS would be for just the games that I can't get on PC.'
That's my current position and outlook, and is exactly what I do these days.
Sony exclusives have less and less appeal to me as each year passes. I think that I've bought all the Sony exclusives this gen (purely based on hype), i.e. God of War, Uncharted, Horizon etc. However, I haven't finished any of them. I probably played around an hour of each before I got bored and deleted them. I think that as I get older, I'm more constantly out of touch with the demographic age range which they're intended for.
@get2sammyb One of the good things about Microsoft Xbox games over recent years, which I appreciate as a consumer, is the fact that most of them are also available on PC, where the costs for purchasing the titles is considerably lower, e.g. I bought Gears of War 4 for under a fiver. Also, another advantage (in monetary terms) is that I don't really need to buy an MS console anymore, along with an annual subscription just to play online.
30 fps on consoles for a racing title... err, it's a big pass from me. Also, no cockpit view, just crappy Mario Kart 3rd person and a crappy bumper view also inclines me to give it a pass. Maybe, if it's 60 fps on PC, I'll buy it in a Steam sale for a fiver.
I remember the first year of my launch PS4, and saying to my online friends, "When are any decent games going to arrive, the majority of what I've seen so far is loads of Indie crap?". Thinking about it, back then reminds me of the state of PSVR now. Subsequently, I was a little disappointed with the first year of PS4, and consequently because of this, it'll probably be a year after the launch of PS5 when I will decide to buy the new console.

Q. Here’s the thing: I’m not saying you need to buy Death Stranding or even like it. Instead I’m simply posing a question: why are so many terrified of it? A. I don't know anyone who is terrified of it. However, I do know many people who think that it's just another video game, and that it's no big deal.
@lacerz Thanks lacerz, for taking the time to post and educate me. I appreciate it. While we're on the topic, did you know that 'Soccer' (as the Americans like to distinguish it, from what the rest of the world calls it), is derived from the words 'Football Association'?
@get2sammyb 'Do we have to do the "rugby with armour" thing?'
No not at all. It's all about indulging an old man's poor, dire, misdirected, insular sense of humour.
'At least in American football you can throw the ball forwards'
Do they throw the ball forwards with their feet? I only enquire, as I like to think of it as American handball.
@nessisonett If they can hit harder without hurting themselves, how do they incur more injuries? In all honesty, I know what you mean. I'm just trying to have a laugh at our colonial cousins
Is this the American game called 'foot'ball were they primarily use their 'hands' to move the ball? It's almost like manly Rugby, once you remove the cissy 'Oh, please don't hurt me' armour that they wear. Thinking about it, Basketball & Baseball were games that girls played, when I was at school, although back then it was called Netball & Rounders. In that context, I'm not surprised that they need to wear their cissy 'Oh, please don't hurt me' armour for their version of Rugby.
@Danloaded I have to agree and agree with you. The racing was good and was exactly the type of arcade racing which I expected from a NFS title. As for the second point, on which I also agree with you, the story, characters & speed cards were terrible.
@KALofKRYPTON I'm a fan of NFS, I've bought every title since the first one. However, (IMO) every NFS title made by Ghost Games has been 'meh', in comparison to other studios that have made the title. It's not their production values or competency as programmers that I have an issue with, it's their lack of imagination that I have concerns with. Every NFS game by them feels like a reskin of their last NFS title, i.e. Same old crap but with prettier graphics.
Q. Will you be racing for the Platinum? A. No, not until EA remove Ghost Games from the franchise and another developer, with imagination, takes up the reins.
Do you have to stand-up for this game? I ask because of the reports of how you use the Wands in the game, and also, the fact that standing up to play a video game makes me feel like a Richard.
@1_W1NG3D_4NG3L I totally agree with your sentiments, i.e. One man's Resistant fighter is another man's Terrorist. However, as for being 'passive aggressive', I have to disagree with that. It was not my intention to be 'passive aggressive', rather it was to make my point, without resorting to using juvenile swear/curse words (as you often see in other forums), in what I hoped would be an intelligible manner.
I note that you like the article, and that's fine by me. I have no quarrel with that. Actually, I also like the article, from a news/latest developments type thing point of view. The only thing that I didn't like, was the 'starting to look like seriously good value' & the 'it's impressive' bit. That's what sounded like an advertisement. I know that those two statements are subjective, but it just doesn't sit very well with me. It either just one person's view, or it could be interpreted as stating that it's an assumption of everybody (which it's not, or else I wouldn't be disagreeing with it). I'm just concerned about peer pressure upon minors, who may be reading this on the run-up to Christmas (No I'm not, send 'em down the coal mines and tell 'em to dig for their Xmas prezzy).
@redd214 Based upon what it offers, the price should be zero (although, even if it was zero, I doubt that I'd personally have any inclination to use it). Perhaps Sony could include it with PS+, in-order to give the illusion that paying for PS+, in-order to play online, is good value? PS+ offers nothing else. Their PS+ sales are pathetic, with prices still more expensive than buying the game from Amazon, and the free monthly games have become a running joke. So basically, you're paying Sony just to play online. This is why I only play multiplayer on PC these days, as it costs nothing, and besides the lower cost of games, I get the added bonus of not feeling ripped off.
*Edit: Reading this back to myself, I realised that I went into 'rant' mode. Apologies for that.
@Ear_wiG 'Sounds to me like it’s saying, “you’ve got to buy PLUS for multiplayer” but “Death Stranding doesn’t REQUIRE it”, meaning it isn’t an online-only game (but would still require Plus to access multiplayer).'
@Cycologist 'yet a good time usage is you replying to an article you have no interest in reading or insist wanting to know anything about. FAIL'
Okay, let's break your ridiculous statement down. First YOU (not me), are assuming that I have no interest in reading this article. I have never stated that I wasn't interested in this article. It seems quite apparent that I am, or why would I have read it? In case you have a problem with your reading skills, may I direct your attention to the fact that I was obviously referring to the Sony State of Play show, and not this article, as you have incorrectly interpreted it as so. Secondly, I note that you end your reply with the word 'Fail', in capital letters. Now it's my turn to interpret your comment. I assume that you use the word 'fail' as a type of auto-signature, which reflects upon your own personal intellectual capabilities?
Q. What did you think of the latest State of Play? Were you satisfied with the spread of content? A. I didn't watch it and I don't really care about the spread of content which I missed.
If I see an available game, which I'm interested in, I buy it. It's as simple as that, and it also saves a lot of personal time by not watching self-promoting, corporate spin shows.
'Hyped'? This article reads like American TV. Can we have an alternative British themed title, for example, 'Poll: Are You Curiously Interested for The Last of Us 2's Return?'.
@GoodGame I totally agree with you. Sony are always doing this with their 'sales'. Also, I was just looking at some of the reduced prices. They have Kingdom Come: Deliverance (Royal Edition) for £24.99. I bought the standard edition, online, around 4 months ago for £14.99. I wonder what you get for a tenner extra with the Royal Edition? Whatever it is, I don't think that (for me) it would warrant spending extra on it.

I can kinda believe that, as I don't know many people who refer to the circle button as a letter 'O' (although I refuse to call the 'X' button, a cross). However, the Japanese aren't renowned for their command of the English language, e.g. 'All your base are belong to us'.
