There's only one thing that I'm interested in, when it comes to E3, and that's reports about HALO Reach for PC. I can't wait for September to happen. That's a bit dramatic. Of course I can wait.
@get2sammyb
I can can completely understand your stance. Personally, I've never been fussed about E3. Generally, my industry contacts have already informed me about the planned agenda content, before it's
reported in the media. Myself and the others, which I've mentioned, all consider it as nothing more than an annual marketing exercise.
I like the way that it realistically models Spec-ops guns. As we all know, Spec-op troopers have to shake their gun every 5 minutes, to realign the tracking.
@playstation_king I haven't played the game, but does the secret ending say, "Stay tuned for episode 2 (currently in development), where all will be revealed"?
@Cutmastavictory When I first played the demo for Wildlands, myself and online friends, all hated it. I wasn't going to buy it. Then I bought the release version in a sale. I played through the whole campaign, with a mate in coop, and I really enjoyed it. So I definitely agree with you, that it's a good game. I'm currently re-playing Future Soldier on PC, and enjoying that too (despite the magic Frodo invisibility cloaks), however, my mind still drifts back to Wildlands and doing stuff like this...
@Splat On the Digital Foundry analysis, over at Eurogamer, they reported something similar happening. Hope it may help, but I don't recall them offering any solution, apart from restarting (which you've already tried).
@JJ2 P.S. I've just read the review over at the Star, and it's now put me back on the fence about purchasing. I keep telling myself that other people's opinions are just made-up things, like Elves and Eskimos, yet they still sway me.
Anyway, thanks once again for the alternative pov.
@InsertUsername Aww, I've got my pitchfork ready and was looking forward to joining a popular mob... Then you come along and say (write) something sensible.
@JJ2 Thanks for the heads-up, I'm gonna go and read it on the Star. However, make sure that you don't post any 'no-ad' YT video game footage, or you could be moderated for spamming
I've only read as far as... 'Days Gone doesn’t quite have the character of a Game of the Year contender like God of War'. This has now got me interested in a game, which beforehand, I'd dismissed.
I'm looking forward to reading more of the review, for more positive reasons to consider purchasing.
*Edit: 10 mins later, and I've read the rest of the review. It sounds (reads) like a bag of predictable boring poo and I won't be buying. Thanks for the review, and for helping me to make an informed decision. Much appreciated.
I must be an audible barbarian, as every time I use PSVR, I don't bother with headphones, and instead, I just play it through my regular sound system. I know that I'm missing out on spatial sound effects, but clamping my head with headphones, in addition to the headset, isn't worth the trade-off for me. This new PS5 feature sounds cool, if it will work through my regular sound system.
Hey, that's your right to disagree with opinions on FF7
Personally, I've always liked games, where they kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. By that, I mean games that are fun, and at the same time, educational. It's very satisfying to learn about Napoleon's; La Grande Batterie, whilst enjoying yourself
This is the second time I have had to remove a personal link in your comments. Next time I, catch one you will receive a temp ban for spamming. Thanks for understanding -Tasuki-
I've not got any further, in GoW, than the first monster encounter after leaving the family home. I haven't turned it back on, since then. One day though, I'll complete it, and I may also discover, why people rate this game, so much.
As somebody who has enjoyed all Borderlands games/DLC, etc, I can truly state, as a British man, that I'm not hyped, but instead, moderately interested. Stiff upper lip 'n all that. Toodle pip.
The more difficulty levels the better. I, often, will start a game on easy, in-order to learn the rules/game mechanics, etc. Once I have achieved this aim, I then return to the difficulty level. Am I finding it too easy? if so, then I restart the game on a higher difficulty level, if not, then I carry on with the current difficulty. Once finished, if I want to replay the game, then I have the choice of ramping up the difficulty to aid replayability.
The only exception to this, are simulation based games, where I will adjust all the settings to be as realistic as possible, as the reason why I buy these types of games, is to simulate an experience.
I played D1, for quite a while, I even bought the season pass, but by the time all the DLC was released, I'd stopped playing it. It was too 'bullet sponge desticle' for my tastes. I no longer have any interest in playing these types of games, so I won't be buying D2.
*Edit: Thinks about the self-irony, as he considers playing Borderlands.
I played for quite a while, the night the patch dropped, and agree that this is what the game needed. It plays a whole lot better than the DS4, although, the DS4 wasn't that bad (as for the stupid Move wands, I did try them, but they're as bad as they've always been, so enough said about those things).
I plan to venture out into the Borderlands, once more, this weekend... If I can curb my megalomaniac, imperial tendencies towards the conquest of 19th century Europe, in Napoleon: Total War.
@mvhess I explained all this in my post. If you're having difficulty with understanding it, then there's not much I can do about that. The essence of my reply, was to point out that the Sony sale/deals aren't that great. However, I suspect that you already knew that that was my intention. If you want to carry on, with a bag over your head, believing that saving 2 quid (or dollars), is the bargain of the century, and justifies your subscription costs, then carry on. It doesn't bother me in the slightest.
Aimtastic news! Just got back from the pub, and was kicking back with a smoke when I read this. Got the patch installed and the nipple gun is on final charge. Tonight's gonna see sun-up, especially as there's no work tomoz.
I don't know how much that is, in dollars though. I imagine that it's not that far off. However, even this non-sale, standard price is 50%+ cheaper than Sony's standard pricing, e.g. Far Cry 5 is usually 50 quid. Sony's sales don't really mean that much, when their game purchase costs are so overpriced in the first instance.
Perhaps on the rare occasion, every now and then/once in a blue moon, you may get it for a few quid cheaper, in a Sony sale (e.g. I just looked on PS and they're selling FC5, in their 'sale', for 20 quid), but for me, a rare 2 quid saving doesn't justify the subscription cost of PS+.
My PS+ runs out at the end of the month, I've subscribed since the PS4 launched. I paid in advance, before Sony increased the price. However, I've now disabled the auto-renew and I've got no intention of re-subscribing. The cost just isn't worth it. The PS game discounts are a joke and can be bought cheaper online. The free games are crap, or I already own them, so basically, I'm paying for the privilege to play online. As for my multiplayer fix, I find that I play more on PC, these days, where there's better games and the multiplayer is free.
@SegaBlueSky Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I didn't set the video capture to 4K, but it still looks nice in the vid', playing back in normal HD/Youtube settings. Obviously, in-game/on my 4K telly, it looks even better.
I bought PSVR for cockpit based games such as sims. Despite purchasing most things, within this genre, DiRT Rally was the only decent thing that was on offer.
I hope that this new DiRT does make it's way onto PSVR, as I now have no interest in playing flat screen cockpit sims.
@JohnnyBastos I downloaded Gears of War 4 (PC), a few days ago, it was 133 Gb! Biggest game that I've ever downloaded. Despite the huge download, for the price of £4.99, which it cost, I can't really complain.
@Arawnelder Although I prefer the DS4 in Skyrim, just because I dislike the Moves, it doesn't mean that I expect everyone to feel the same way. I'm glad that you're enjoying them.
@get2sammyb In my opinion, the Move wands are only useful for titles where you're stationary, and you only move your arms, e.g. Rush of Blood, Archangel, etc.
If the game features walking with the Moves, then they do more harm than good, in terms of immersion. The reason why (for me), is because you'll be constantly dragged out of the game and back into reality, due to the inherent, inaccurate, chunkiness of the button presses, when compared to the precise, accurate movement of the DS4's or Aim's analogue thumb sticks.
The Move wands are the worst thing which I've ever bought from Sony. I, personally, find that it's strange, that there's a demand for them. Mine are somewhere, in the house, gathering dust. I hate the Move wands with a passion (I call them wands, as I don't think that they have the right to be called controllers), so much so, that I won't buy a PSVR game, anymore, if it's Move wand only.
@AdamNovice In my opinion, the Move wands are only useful for titles where you're stationary, and you only move your arms, e.g. Rush of Blood Archangel, etc.

Lol, it was aged on release day. It's just a pocket calculator that can play Pong.

Q. Can a Toblerone chocolate bar, be used, to measure the rectilinear propagation of light?
Q. Also, how many instances, did you encounter, where the tracking was lost?
Re: Hands On: Blood & Truth Elevates PSVR to the Next Level
I may buy it, but only when it's on sale. My backlog isn't going anywhere fast.

@AdamNovice It all depends on the type of party, which I go to, and also, the type of people that are there... and if Jelly is being served.
Re: Feature: What to Expect During Today's State of Play?
Q. "So what can you realistically anticipate?"
A. A load of usual marketing bollocks, which long-time gamers have seen many times before, and generally ignore.

@get2sammyb
In my opinion, the Move wands are only useful for titles where you're stationary, and you only move your arms, e.g.
