@Titntin 'I didn't really get on well with the PC version and still prefer Civ'
The same here. I bought it on PC, played around with it for 30 mins, went 'meh' to myself and thought that I'd get back to it someday. I never did and it was uninstalled further down the road. To be honest, until I read this article, I'd even forgotten that I own it.
@brazzios_84 'I wish we could get a tier of PS Plus that just enabled multiplayer...'
I agree with you brazzios. However, I doubt that it will happen as Sony need something as a counter argument to the high cost that they charge for playing multiplayer on their system. Giving away some paltry titles once a month, that hardly anybody wants, still seems to be working for them.
I dare say that I'll also be checking it out. However, I doubt that it'll be something that I'll continue to watch, purely because of the Anime aspect (I intensely dislike that artwork style).
I've tried to play a few of these titles in the past, but have never completed any of them, as I usually stop playing after an hour has passed, followed by then uninstalling the thing.
I just don't get them. I guess that they're an acquired taste or they're a game for people with no taste. Either way, as long as somebody enjoys them, then that's fine with me.
Oh dear, another dodgy Mech game inspired by Kung Fu. I think that I'll stick to MechWarrior 5 and the slow steady footstep thump of a 100 ton war machine.
I gave it a 7. I would have given it an 8, if the title had employed a better anti aliasing solution. As it currently stands, with regard to the graphics, it feels like, 'One step forward and two steps back'. For all the graphical additions since SE4, they've undermined their efforts with the poor AA solution. The game has jaggies and bad shimmer everywhere, which is gameplay distracting and visually ugly.
'I'd love for ghost recon to go back to the tactical games of the early 2000s'
@PhhhCough I agree. However, I think that gamers were a little more intelligent back in those days. These days, I fear that a publishing house wouldn't green light it, due to it being too complicated for this generation, and subsequently, for not having 'mass appeal', i.e. It's easier for them to continue to churn out the latest Final-Mario-the Wild brain-dead nonsense to gain a healthy financial return.
@Jaz007 I know what you mean. Snap turning feels totally unnatural. Along with teleportation, I always think that I get an understanding of how an epileptic might feel, if sat in front of a strobe light.
I did once try snap turning and teleportation (jumping with my eyes shut) when I was at the local supermarket shopping for groceries. I found the whole experience much harder than it needed to be. Also, the store manager asked me to leave, as I was causing a disturbance for the other shoppers.
@thefourfoldroot The aim controller is okay, if you accept its limitations. By that I mean, the 90's PSVR lightball tech'. It most aim controller games, you'll find that every couple of minutes, you have to shake the aim controller to reset it. Often, the on-screen position doesn't correspond to the physical location in your hands.
If I buy it, I'm gonna wait until I see some decent games for it (unlike my 1st gen PSVR, which earns a living as a dust collector due to there being only one, out of the +60 titles that I own for it, being what I consider to be any good).
@mikeym That's understandable. I wish that I had the space for an office. My racing rig is tucked away in the corner of the room. It's not very aesthetic, but beggars can't be choosers, so it'll have to do for now.
@mikeym 'Might be tempted to get it on PS5 in a sale for some more comfortable couch play'
With a wireless keyboard, mouse & controller (for games), couch play is how I always play PC games on my 4K TV. Apart from the huge selection of better games to choose from, sometimes I forget that I'm using the PC whilst playing.
I just thought I'd mention it, in case it was something that you may be considering.
Yet again, the PS poll wouldn't let me participate. It wants me to select 3, when I only want to select 1.
I guess that I could just randomly select the other 2, but then that would make a mockery of the poll's intended purpose, as it would then contain false results.
@get2sammyb 'we thought it'd be cool to give readers actual input into our result'
That reminds me of an episode of the Simpsons, that I watched last week, featuring the Sea Captain.
The scenario pictured was a business closing down, with men in protective suits wheeling out Bee hives on trolley's.
Sea Captain: "Yarr, I thought people would like harvesting their own honey.".
Sea Captain: "Yarr, they hated it.".
An excellent article. I hope that it brings some comfort to others who find themselves in the same predicament. At least they know that they're not the only one.
I bought this on release day for PC (due to the 60% discount, it only cost me around £14 quid), and so far I've sunk over 20 hours into it. I haven't encountered one bug or crash to desktop, even though there's been two PC patches since release.
I originally bought this on the X360, and (somewhere) I even have the official strategy guide for it. However, even though I'm quite familiar with the game, I seem to be enjoying it more this time around.
That got me thinking. I can remember, back in the 80's, bypassing the interpreter and programming directly with machine code, in-order to squeeze a few more fps. Then later on, C++ and graphic libraries came along and took away all the fun
I'm looking forward to this. My only concern is that it appears to use the wands. I hope that it's not a 'wand only' title, as I'd much sooner use a DS4 for precise control, rather than those immersion breaking, not fit for purpose, clunky, inaccurate wand things.
Edit: I've just read (based upon a developer AMA) that the game will be a DS4 only title. Happy days.

@MarcG420 I can appreciate that. I'm tempted to get a PS5 solely for PSVR and the promise of better games. However, based on the available games so far, it isn't high up on my priority list.
@MarcG420 Thanks for the reply. I have no idea about who won the last gen race, but I can remember people jumping ship from the X360 to the PS3 because of the free online play. Even today, I prefer to do my online gaming on PC, rather than pay/subscribe to PS+ for the ability.
@Kristos ' $5 per month for cloud save, free games and bigger discounts on PSN sales are more than worth it for me'.
That's great that you think that it's value for you. I respect your view.
For me, I'm quite capable of making my own back-up saves. The 'free' monthly games, I already own or don't want. As for PSN sales, I think that they're a joke, as you can usually just go on Amazon and find the game there for cheaper than the Sony sale price.
@MarcG420 Apologies Marc, if I've misunderstood. I thought that your point was regarding free versus paid online, and that it didn't really matter as SONY had exclusives. Please correct me if I'm still wrong.
