The original issue was about whether evidence exists, not whether the evidence is compelling. If we don't have an agreed or fixed definition of what counts as "evidence" then there is no way to resolve the disagreement. Guess we'll just have to beg to differ.
Yes @mantralux, I am backing out. You're raising the burden of proof, and moving away from the original point about existence of evidence. By all means consider yourself victorious; I don't have any comebacks.
@mantralux Ha, that was unexpected! I am a little embarrassed that I assumed you were male, yes. Doesn't counter my point though as I mean women plural.
Here's some links on the measurement of objectification of women:
@mantralux: "...which is an argument that has no scientific backing whatsoever." Really? Have you been hanging out on Return Of Kings? There's plenty of scientific studies that come to that conclusion. Not saying it's all convincing, but a case can definitely be made.
@xX_RiscazZ_Xx It's a good point: there should be some incentive for clans to take on randoms for a raid run beyond the warm fuzzies. Maybe a buff to their RNG for the boss drop.
Quick question for the Destiny diehards: will someone be transferring the clan onto the new platform?
I was never an active member in D1, but that's more ecause I live in Thailand and the timezones are really inconvenient for playing with Europeans or Americans. I never did a raid, or even a strike on mics, yet still racked up 100hrs of gameplay. For D2 I want to get more out of the game beyond just the compulsion loop of the end game grind.
@kyleforrester87 I wouldn't be surprised if they did open up a patrol map (or a section) on the last day or two, like they did with the Moon in the D1 beta. I agree that a strike and a mission won't provide a lot of repeated play. The crucible changes are fairly significant though, especially with the new mode, so I'll be happy enough with 4 days of getting my bottom handed to me in PvP.
I'm quite keen to try out the Voidwalker Warlock changes. Scatter grenades look even better, although I'm not sure what the slow nova bomb will be like - seems like you can almost outrun it!
I really never could see the point of the bubble in solo play.
And yeh, hunters definitely ended up the weakest class in D1. Bladedancers still used irritate the heck out of me in PvP though.
Any idea if/when this is being released on the US store? Looks interesting. I almost re-bought "Another World" this week in the sale, but think I might check this out instead.
"People will get the digital copy because they don't want to get off the sofa and put a disc in the machine.” Frankly, yes.
Also, looking at the pile of old Xbox 360 and PS2 gathering dust in my father's attic, who needs all that clutter. I bought one disc on launch and it's been digital every since. It does bug me that it is more expensive, and re-installing is a pain, but the convenience and low-noise makes it worth it.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi Word! I think I finally got Jade Rabbit to drop about a month before the timed exclusivity on Destiny 1 ended.
Most of the time the exclusive content is pretty lame. An extra fetch quest at best, or an extra character skin at worst. Whoop-de-woo. I think it's a crappy sales tool, but its not something I'm too bothered about.
That said, I think Crystal Dynamics shot themselves in the foot with Rise of the Tomb Raider. After a year of waiting, I expect many PS4 users are thinking, "fine, I'll just wait another year and pick it up for $20". I certainly am.
FC3 definitely the high point of the series. FC2 (if you've ever played it) is way worse than FC4 (which was just a duller version of FC3) or FCP. I really hope FC5 does an Assassin's Creed 4, but I won't be pre-ordering that's for sure.
Also interesting that there is a bit of love for FC Primal in the comments - I've been tempted to get this when it's on sale.
I hadn't noticed a slow down, but reading the comments I would agree that the quick menu and share menu do seem to take longer to appear these days. The store and what's new feed have always been slow and unpredictable which I just put down to my dodgy foreign internet connection.
Dirt Rally was good, but a little too unforgiving to keep playing for more than about 30 minutes. Even the Rallycross part required a series of perfect powerslides lap after lap. It started feeling like Trials after a while.
I've always liked Codemasters driving games, ever since the TOCA Touring Car series on the PS1. Day one purchase for me.
Disagree with you about the AI - I never experienced that. If a guard knew of my takedown it's because he saw it, heard the guy shout, or saw the body.
Still, I agree that using the gadgets is the most fun game play. Also trying to use non-lethal means at all times makes the game enjoyable. I completed the game without (deliberately) killing anyone.
My dream would be for the "TV & Video" folder to not constantly keep stealing a slot in my most recently opened games or apps list. It's small thing, but it just spoils the look of the ribbon.
Good review. I'm slightly more interested in one of these than I was before, but not for £150. There's clearly a market here if you hit the right price point.
Only 24 hours to gather responses? That's hardly going to get a representative picture is it?! Waste of flipping time. You should call it the "Daily Readers Poll".
My all time favourite game soundtrack / sound design.
From wiki: "The soundtrack for Loco Roco is based on a fictional language created by Kouno to avoid alienating foreign players by using Japanese music. Kouno created the language by compiling a list of interesting words in katakana, then altering the words slightly to make them sound cool in Japanese as to mask their origins. Kouno then sent the lyrics along with some of his preferred reggae, soul and R&B music to the composers, Nobuyuki Shimizu and Kemmei Adachi, to complete the soundtrack. Kouno requested that the composers use as little electronic-sounding instruments as possible to give the music a feeling of "live sound"."
I've been feeling the same way about the sometimes forced amazon links recently. And it's a testament to the quality of Pushsquare and the respect your readers have, that people are giving this feedback in such a calm and reasoned way. We do understand business realities, and genuinely the appreciate the careful balancing act you have to deal with. Still feels a bit icky tho! Appreciate @Tasuki for acknowledging this is an issue. Avoiding it will definitely lose you readers.
Without wanting to sound smug (and I know I do), it's quite amusing to see the resistance to the inevitable future of gaming on the cloud. It will absolutely happen, no if,s no buts. Yeh sure, connectivity is still very poor in many parts of the world, but it is improving day to day to day. Whether its with more fibre, or better 4G coverage, we will be 100% connected 100% of the time across 100% of the world with a decade or two. Get with it guys, the boxes under your TV WILL stop being sold at some point.
Much more of an issue for me, is who really cares about playing PS2 games? For sure, if you never played a classic it's a great opportunity to see what you missed, but beyond that surely most people want to play new games? Whether they are hardcore or casual.
Playstation Now is clearly not going to be about backwards compatibility in a few years time. It is going to be where you play new games and have the chance to check out old ones as a bonus..
I'd happily buy an Elite DS4. On to my third controller now: thumbstick rubber came off both, RT started sticking on the first one along with a tendency to send left signals from the stick when it wasn't in use, and the shell on the second started pulling apart. And yeh, battery could do with a couple more hours in it.
@WARDIE That's very kind of you sir. I will most definitely add you when I get home. Been working away for the past 2 weeks, so will be hitting the PS4 hard when I get back!
@WARDIE Cheers mate, I tried that, but it didn't solve the problem unfortunately as the remapping stays locked all the time. So the X and O are reversed in game, which is even more a problem than just trying to navigate the OS smoothly! I'll double check again tonight, but I do remember being super excited when the firmware update came out, and then getting a big sad face when I found it only made things worse.
Put a 2TB SSD in a slimmer box and I'd buy it. I expect I probably would pick up a PS4K at some point regardless, but mainly because I have an Asian console and after 2 years still cannot get used to the switched X and O buttons.
A lot of cosmetic crap really. But I like the idea of increasing the Vendor level-up/drop rate. Plus I'm kinda happy to get the chance to check out some weapons that passed under my radar last year when the Suros Regime ruled and barely left my hands.

Hey @mantralux To answer your question:
The original issue was about whether evidence exists, not whether the evidence is compelling. If we don't have an agreed or fixed definition of what counts as "evidence" then there is no way to resolve the disagreement. Guess we'll just have to beg to differ.

Yes @mantralux, I am backing out. You're raising the burden of proof, and moving away from the original point about existence of evidence. By all means consider yourself victorious; I don't have any comebacks.
What did you think of the Destiny Beta?
Re: Street Fighter V Costume Deemed Unfit for TV, ESPN Tells Evo Finalist to Change It
I think I've sufficiently backed up both my points @mantralux I only shared links because you asked me to.
Re: Street Fighter V Costume Deemed Unfit for TV, ESPN Tells Evo Finalist to Change It

Re: Street Fighter V Costume Deemed Unfit for TV, ESPN Tells Evo Finalist to Change It
@mantralux have you even tried googling for 5 minutes before making such claims about "no scientific evidence"? You're just wrong buddy.
Regardless, respect to all for the civil nature of the discussion. My general take on topics like this: ask women what they think.

Re: Game of the Month: Top 4 PlayStation Games of June 2017
DiRT 4 is game of June for me. A return to form from Codemasters after last year's admirable, but misguided, effort.

@RedFinch same meaning, but here it's also referencing the Soap character.

Formulaic, dull and mildly disappointing. That was NOT worth staying up until 3am to see!

Oh my god, so a major retail chain store was putting profit before customer service and staff welfare?!!!
Kudos to the shop staff who are trying to get around their computer-generated targets and management-generated toxic working environment.
Amazon also treat their workers like s**t too though. Just buy digital I say.
