It's @rastamadeus with his finger in the pulse. Agree with you on TLoU & if it's the same people that worked on that who are now on Uncharted, my interest has dropped further. Hell my interest had started to wane for Uncharted as soon as it was announced anyway. Best way to be though as it'll be better if it turns out good instead of being hyped up to the eyeballs. One can only hope it turns out even half as good as Uncharted 2
This game sounded enticing when I posted about it a few weeks back at its original announcement with the developer stating they'll have some in-game shots during the summer. Considering this announcement links Dualshockers with some fresh concept art, those screenshots still aint come yet. Shame. Still a ways to go till its pencilled 2016 release date but I hope the promised in-game shots come soon enough so we can get a glimpse of whether the games atmosphere will possibly match the early concept art @get2sammyb David Cage is boss #Emotion
@Punished_Boss @KAPADO Whats blasphemous about not being jacked into the AAA Rockstar gravy train? I wasn't aware that having an opinion that differs to the mainstream norm would hurt people so
Im not one for sandbox games myself. I find they lack focus and offer up too much padding to be of much enjoyment. Prefer to have a focused, linear, 10 hour campaign that immerses from start to finish. That gives more bang for buck to me than 40 hours of lackluster content. Not that sandbox games cant offer that similar immersion to a linear title, but their reliance on padded side missions & collectibles means you tend to get sidetracked and lose cohesion & focus with the games narrative.
Is it just me, or are most of Ubisoft's AAA games these days seeming to be built around the same template?
Hopefully it will be better than Redemption. Contrary to most peoples opinions, I found Redemption to be a lackluster chore to play through. The online mode was decent though if you had enough people with you so it would be good to see that expanded on Ps4. Wouldn't mind seeing another Red Dead in a similar vein to Revolver though, quite enjoyed that one.
Trine 2 for Ps4 is a fantastic offering, but its not AAA so people are going to spit their dummys out regardless. Dragons Crown sounds much improved these days so that'll be worth a punt. Ill probably try all the other titles as well. Why not? Its not like its breaking the bank paying £11.99 every 3 months and trying games, like NBA 2K14 & Pixeljunk, that I wouldn't normally buy.
Interesting. I thought it looked like one of the better releases at Microsofts E3 last year, so Ill no doubt pick it up. Should keep me ticking over till titles start hitting regularly after Summer on Ps4.
@Paranoimia Thats a good point. Team ICE have been beavering away for a while now with the Ps4 API's and theres the occasional update of info via Twitter. Shame no gaming outlets take interest in the work of Team ICE & the work they do in ensuring Sony's first-party studios have the tools they need.
Remember the days before IGC when the games you got with Plus were bobbins PSN games, Ps1 titles & mini's? No? You dont!? oh thats right, only a handful of us were actually using the service back then Probably why I dont have any 'entitlement' issues with how PS+ is currently faring on Ps4 when I think back to those days
"Tell us just how doomed Sony is in the comments section below." Brilliant @shogunrok No doubt a few will turn up to do just that Personally, Im not too fussed. I am really looking forward to the game but Its not like there's no games coming in the later section of the year. Id rather the game was delayed than end up with something that falls short of what it set out to do due to a lack of polish.
@TOMBOY25 I know. If you look through my comment history you'll see I tend to do that but with the .gif being wide I linked it instead just in case it threw off the proportions of the comment section
@get2sammyb Aye, it was the same back when Titanfall launched. There's no conspiracy, but I can't help but roll my eyes at some AAA reviews these days. When it comes to the big games, I tend to look for the middle-ground review, like the 8/10 ones here and read those. The high scores are just gushers with little negativity pointed out & the low scores seem to be people being clever for click-bait. I don't have much time for games between reviews (Still haven't gotten around to Infamous SS yet ) so I'll be leaving Watchdogs for a while anyway as I've gone with Wolfensten for the time being
@JaxonH With 2033 being remastered using the Last Light engine, I'd hazard a guess they will more than likely be using the PC build of Last Light. No doubt it would be easier to port that than the Ps3/360 code lol I'm expecting they'll be running it on High PC settings, not at its highest but easily a step up from last gen versions
@Reverend_Skeeve They would be able to. The game is only rendering at 1920x800 so of they diced it to fit a 1.70:1 aspect ratio then they could run the same resolution & do it. The letterboxing offers them the wider 2.40:1 aspect ratio which as a side effect would offer up a wider FOV as well as looking more 'cinematic' (plus it should ensure the game looks sharp, in the same way blurays do with that ratio). That's if their using the wider aspect ratio that way anyway. I'm hoping it may be like Beyond, as once the game started and I became engrossed - I forgot the game was letterboxed.
The atmosphere of the original puts the likes of The Last of Us to shame, so its great to hear of the enhancements to the games Stealth & gunplay (which was needed) The sequel doesn't quite hit the same heights but its still a good playthrough. Both games remastered, all DLC, 1080p60 & at only £34.99!? Thats how you do a remaster
@MatGrowcott I do reviews myself, so I know that it can be a balancing act when it comes to reviewing a game that can be packed with features. The issue is that in the main body of the review your singular focus on the games sexualised apsects has created a more opinionated piece. Take weapons/armour for example. Instead of talking about how they can be levelled up/customised & enhanced, you chose to focus solely on how they are named. People reading the review wouldn't know about the customisation aspect & may be puzzled at this depth you mention in the conclusion. This singular focus has created an opinionated review that reads along the lines of "This game creeped me out...and here's why" instead of being as informative as possible to the reader. There's nothing wrong with highlighting the games sexualised aspect obviously, I just feel it could've been balanced a little more in the main body of the review
This is probably the first time Ive disagreed with a review on here for the past few years, not the score or anythin, but the general body of the review. Ive been playing the game myself this past week and at least half of the games feature set isn't even mentioned at all. Peon recruitment that allows you to create your own party members, levelling them in battle & even fuse them to create more powerful ones? Weapon customisation & enhancements? Ticket mode for bonuses? battle techniques like Blast off that allows to to send enemies flying across battlefields into other enemies, delaying turns and destroying crystals? Coerce mode that gives temporary boosts in battle when following Symra's orders? Damage carnival limit-breaker style moves? Ultimate soul skills that increase in count the more gods powers you aquire? or even the G-Castle battles that are directly incluenced by the amount of peons you acquire with the captivate mode by boosting its stats? and thats just some that aren't mentioned & they all appear within the first 8 hours of the game. The review seems to read more opinionated than informative
Need...a...release....date...pronto Need to pre-order! If they fix the slightly clunky gunplay of the original then we're looking at Port-of-the-Year right here

@Cloud7794 As far as Im aware its the exact same as the PC version which had player counts of up to 2,000 per continent/map. Been looking forward to trying it on Ps4 myself as my PC struggles a bit seen as I didn't build it for gaming primarily lol It is a bit of a pickle the Warframe situation. I was trying out the new map last night with my co-editor. Such domination Still play it on a regular basis, Battlefield 4 has been consigned to the sub bench. Not sure how I feel about Jetpacks tho as theres already enough drones n the like hovering here, there & everywhere! Still, any additions to freshen things up a little can't be a bad thing
@Of_Folsense Mario Kart 8 isn't amazingly detailed in a rendering sense and it's tracks are smaller than you'd think with everything within the level being baked & pre-determined. That's why it can hit 1080p60 on the WiiU. Plus the compression of a frambuffer stored in the WiiU's edram allows then to use higher resolutions than you'd expect. Watchdogs has a dynamic open world that would suitably require more processing & rendering than a game like MK8 I'm not saying Mk8 looks bad or anything, but most of its flair comes from artistic design rather than graphical grunt. As I said in my first post, cross gen development has no doubt hindered development somewhat. A focus on PC/Ps4/XB1 & WiiU would've no doubt allowed them to use the consoles gpgpu capabilities and leveraged better performance
Whats Mario Kart 8, a kart racer who's graphical flair comes from artistic design rather than technical whizz, running at 1080p60 on a WiiU got to do with Watchdogs? Wait..is MK8..codename for...the WiiU version...of Watchdogs!?? Watchdogs is running at 1080p60 on WiiU!!? No..Its not...everyones actually talking about Mario Kart in a Watchdogs thread as if to say the Ps4 is a pauper machine & the WiiU has unlimitedz POWAH! PushSquare sure has changed of late
I wouldn't be suprised if Ubisoft have spent most of their time getting the 360/Ps3 versions up to scratch and basically just scaled down the Ps4/XboxOne versions from the PC build. Would explain why we are only just hearing about all this now. 1600x900 isn't too bad, its the res I tend to drop to (sometimes 1680x1050) when I need a bit more performance from my lowly PC. 30 fps aint too bad either as we're not talking about a twitch shooter, are we? Still, that Titanfall-eque 792p resolution is a kick in the teeth for Xbox fans adamant that 900p was coming.
In truth, it doesnt affect me much as Im not getting Watchdogs anyway. Wolfenstein is my end of May game
@rjejr someone talking sense in a doom & gloom Vita article You have your Weetabix this morning!?
Isn't the Vita selling healthily enough now with the genuinely engaging & different experiences that we have from the niche & indie devs than it was when the handheld was getting cookie-cutter AAA releases? Or is that just me?
No doubt it'll be up to 60fps, Which I have no problem with if it ends up being as relatively smooth as Tomb Raider was on Ps4. To be honest I wouldn't even care if it was a locked 30fps as that's smooth enough and I'm not asinine enough to demand 60fps for a game that will show little benefit from it
It's good to see this new card to help deal with an obvious, but minor, grievance. FFX also suffered with compressed audio. Interested in the game but I think I may hold out for news on whether the Ps4 version is going to make it over as that has some interesting additions for live streaming
@KALofKRYPTON Not interested in Quake Live? its a f2p Quake 3 that runs through your web browser-ish by id. Even the computer i use in the office at work can run it
While im not really a fan of TLoU, I still appreciate some of the things it did. One of those was the weighty feel to the combat, amplified by the games 30fps update. I fear upping to 60fps, reducing time between frames & upping response, may rob the game of some of its tension in combat. Killzone is a great example as its a series known for its weighty feel to its gunplay, but the multplayer on Shadowfall seems devoid of most of that compared to the SP/MP on 2 & 3 due to the push for 60fps (I do enjoy Shadowfall online tho) Lets hope a similar push doesn't do the same with TLoU
Is the Ps4 drive limited to only single-layer 50GB disks? gonna be a bit of an oversight further down the line if thats the case...
@Scollurio I didn't like the look of this Elder Scroll Online either with all Ive seen. Shame as I was looking forward to it pre-launch
I tend to look to Angry Joe for his reviews when it comes to mainstream titles as he's usually spot on & even he was disappointed with this game despite being an Elder Scrolls fan (The reviews HERE if you want to check it) If its to be delayed, good. Then they might have a decent product when its finally released on Ps4

Re: PS4's PlanetSide 2 Port Will Be Playable at E3 Next Month
@KALofKRYPTON Not interested in Quake Live? its a f2p Quake 3 that runs through your web browser-ish by id. Even the computer i use in the office at work can run it
Re: PS4's PlanetSide 2 Port Will Be Playable at E3 Next Month
Looking forward to this. Hoping the scale of the battles will scratch that MAG itch
Re: Naughty Dog Struggling to Squeeze The Last of Us Remastered on a PS4 Blu-ray
Re: Rumour: Elder Scrolls Online for PS4 May Be Suffering a Six Month Delay
@Scollurio I didn't like the look of this Elder Scroll Online either with all Ive seen. Shame as I was looking forward to it pre-launch
I tend to look to Angry Joe for his reviews when it comes to mainstream titles as he's usually spot on & even he was disappointed with this game despite being an Elder Scrolls fan (The reviews HERE if you want to check it) If its to be delayed, good. Then they might have a decent product when its finally released on Ps4
