@ToOGoodOfAPlaya I agree, It's not really a big deal. I just fired up Infamous: First Light seen as single-player games do still exist. People just like to complain as they believe they're entitled to an always online PSN service, even though it doesn't state anywhere as far as Im aware in the documentation agreed upon for an SEN account that Sony will be providing one.
@WARDIE Sony don't charge people to play online, they charge people for PS+. Its up to publishers whether their games are behind the paywall. Thats why you'll find numerous games (COD: Ghosts probably being the most high profile) that doesn't require PS+ for online gameplay.
I hear its not as tense or thrilling as Alien Isolation, which with the game coming from Shinji Mikami is a tad disappointing, so I'll be sticking with the ol' Alien for my late night, fear induced gaming sessions. I'll probably try this when the price has dropped a little.
Sounds like you enjoyed the game judging from the main text of the review @ShogunRok There's no shame in enjoying the fruits of the series' OTT....Gameplay It's going to be interesting reading reviews elsewhere on this one (looking forward to Polygon's after their now infamous Bayonetta 2 review)
I'm looking forward to firmware update v3.56 when hopefully all the functionality is installed that people keep whinging about and we can get back to discussing surprisingly subtle additions that will only be of interest to technophiles like we used to have on Ps3
I don't understand why people still play Ubisoft games. They never deliver on their technical promises & the gameplay seems eerily similar between most of their big releases. Ubisoft haven't made a must play title for over 2 years now..
Traded mine today. 3 legendary loot drops in 2 weeks - one ended up as a rare gun I already had, another legendary armour for a titan (Im a warlock) & finally something usable as I got a legendary shotgun. Joke of a loot system for about 40-50 hours gametime. Superb gunplay though, so I'll pick the game up again later down the line when its finally out of Beta & there's more content to play. A lot more.
People want an Alien game like Alien. They get it & then complain it's too long. No doubt the same outcome would come if it was short. Developers can't win these days.
@FullbringIchigo That damn Corporate Commander gets his grubby hands on everything these days...
The loot system is definetly broken in this game. Its been about 10+ hours since I levelled past 20 & I haven't even had a single legendary engram yet Jumping on for a couple of hours each night in the hope something good comes along is getting tiring now. Starting to get the trading itch...
With my Vita being stolen not too long ago, I think this may be a decent route back to the console myself. Barely took the Vita anywhere, preferred my PsPgo, so I'm not fussed that it isn't portable. There's a lot of titles I'm missing playing at the moment. Think I best go check that compatibility list first & hope the upcoming Senran Kagura titles will work with it too....
@get2sammyb 3 to 4 hours to download & install 6gb That sounds ridiculous. Are you using the Wifi by any chance? Since I networked my home properly, I've had my Ps3 hooked up via ethernet. Even tho it doesn't use all the bandwidth on offer from my connection, it still hits about 5/6MB & would have that 6GB done in about 30 minutes. I had to use the Wifi on the Ps3 for a couple of days not long ago and it's startling the difference to being wired. It's pretty much the only thing that irks me about the Ps3. Using mine a lot still, review duties & a purchase of the Killzone trilogy means it sees a lot of use. However, it does keep reminding me how intuitive the XMB is & how bangers the Ps4 dashboard is in comparison
Japan has always made decent games. The only reason an article like this has sprung up is due to the games in question seeming more westernised than games from Japan have previously so they're going to appeal more on our shores
Its good to see the new tracks will all be pretty much free which should benefit the game online. GG did the same with Killzone by giving the maps away free, and it helps to stop your community from being segregated
@Paranoimia complaints about optional DLC is always a tickler. Its not like they have to buy it to enjoy the game as the important aspect of new tracks looks to be included free of charge
With the servers only going live on Monday, any reviews pushed out these past couple of days are ones I won't really bother with and are just looking to net a lot of traffic by having reviews out before the mainstream websites. With how the online aspect is interwoven into the game, being able to play online for a day before pushing a review out us doing a disservice to your publication. It would be like reviewing the multiplayer aspect of Killzone: ShadowFall based on its offline botzone
You dont have to pay for PS+ to play everything online, unless the publisher of your favourite online game has deemed it to be needed. There's some AAA games out there like Fifa 14 & COD Ghosts, for example, that don't require PS+ to play online (flip over the case and take a look. The online section isn't yellow & doesn't state PS+ is needed) As Sony stated at E3 last year, its down to the publisher and whether they would like their game behind the PS+ paywall. Just sayin...
@SteveButler2210 Your right. I played Bladestorm when it launched a few years back on Ps3 and if anything, it played pretty much like Kessen 3 did on Ps2.
Awesome conference. Put both E3 & Gamescom to shame. So many awesome games coming to Ps4 & Vita in the east. As soon as I seen Senran Kagura for Ps4 I was doing cartwheels
@divinelite Croixleur Sigma was pretty darn good. It was one of the first review codes I'd been sent by Nyu Media. The combat system on it is so slick it puts most action games out there to shame.
If the mainstream gaming 'press' didn't stick the word on any game that looks half decent & isn't AAA before going on to hype the crap out of it, people wouldn't be annoyed by the word Indie. Like I've said numerous times - a game is a game, regardless of factors such as budget. It's about time the press stopped trying to pigeon hole everything & took a leaf out of the enthusiast sector by just reporting on these titles as games instead of indies
@Munkyknuts Aye it is really cheap. I picked up a 12GB super-slim from CEX for my brother at the weekend and it cost £95 (with a 1 year warranty) Looking at HDD while I was there and it would only cost £18 for a 250GB Toshiba one that looked as though it had been taken from a Ps3 anyway lol Only would cost £113 altogether, which is a nice entry price for the system
I'm a gamer, so I'll give anything a try that Sony put on PS+ - even if it's something that wouldn't usually interest me. I voted for TxK (even tho Im not able to play it at the moment) other than that it'd be Playstation All Stars..
The amount of people here stating the PSN has been hacked have no idea what they are talking about. A DDos basically floods a server with bogus requests till the traffic overloads it. Nothing has been accessed. No information is at risk. If people are gonna complain, at least know what your complaining about.
@voodoo341 so you have a premium account on War Thunder or are you just trolling again? you can still go online during the maintenance. The PSN servers aren't taken down, Sony are just doing maintenance making the store & account management unavailable so you can still go online. If your unable to use your premium account on say War Thunder during this time, then it's a Gaijin server issue
I'm with @TOMBOY25 on this. It's a non issue these days. Its hardly unacceptable that you won't be able to browse the online store on a day it doesn't refresh anyway. Remember the old days when you couldn't access the PSN at all during maintenance....
@NicolaHayden Nice review its always good seeing Nep-Nep being given a fair crack of whip.
@DualWielding I thought Victory was a great release in the series, one of the best niche Jrpg's these past couple of years. The oddity with Rebirth getting high scores compared to Victory is that its basically Victory, but with the story (with a few changes) etc of the original Hyperdimension Neptunia If you enjoyed Victory, you'll love Rebirth tho. It plays as well but the writing is golden, especially for Neptune.
@artemisthemp It wasn't originally due for a physical release, hence why they 'were' whining. The original announcement was that both Freedom Wars & Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines were to recieve a digital release in the EU.
Noone seems to have bothered about Oreshika though...
I'll be literally bemused if people start whining about the limit. Its still a superb feature & there's no extra charge for the feature (aside from PS+) People have to do the same thing with 'free' calls to landlines whereby they have to hang up & call again to refresh the hour. They don't complain.
EDIT: I think part of the reason a limit is in place is to appease publishers/developers too. Im sure they wouldn't like the idea of potential sales going down the drain due to people doing a marathon sessions via this Share Play & completing their games that way.
@artemisthemp It's only rumoured so far, as far as I know it hasn't been confirmed by anyone. So no, I'm not happy lol It would be nice of QD to confirm something seen as I recall them being at last year's E3 showing off some new tech they have for the Ps4, yet nothing has come yet. Tis a shame.
It seems your pandering a little @get2sammyb towards to end when you bring up the lack of a show stopper. Sonys conference was fine the way it was just unveiling new & interesting titles. Let's keep Gamescom as Gamescom & leave all the flashy showing off antics with E3.
I need Quantic Dream to announce something for Ps4...Like NOW
I guess this Until Dawn will have to do for now. There seems to be a few of these 'QD' style games to have been announced lately. Maybe its a new genre forming....
I thought Sony's Gamescom was better than E3. People seem to forget that Gamescom is for the smaller studios to show what they're doing, so the fact there wasn't any megaton announcements is par the course for the event. Instead we got a look at a lot of interesting titles, which is why I watch Gamescom, instead of the usual suspects being rolled out (the mistake Microsoft made at the event) and turning it into an E3 lite. Sony may have lacked a show stopperduring the show, but if what Im reading regarding Sony being the publisher on the game - then this new SIlent Hill potentialy being an exclusive is as close as it gets to a bomb at Gamescom
@Scollurio Some people were expecting an E3 V2.0 & what we got was a Gamescom conference instead. Sony tend to focus on the smaller offerings at Gamescom which meant much disappointment for the blockbuster/AAA lovers. Roll on TGS so we can see what developers in the east are getting up to on Ps4
@MoleZandor That's the way things are on Pushsquare these days. Takes a little getting used to but you'll eventually be able to filter through most of the bile.
I thought it was decent. As expected to be honest. Quite a few interesting games to keep an eye on going forward. Gamescom has always been the place Sony showcase their smaller offerings, so I'm not sure why people were expecting E3 levels of showmanship & announcements. TGS is just around the corner, hopefully we get some Hyperdimension Neptunia V II Ps4 gameplay footage there...
@SimonAdebisi Its a sequel to Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, which I think we've had on PS+ previously for Ps3. You may already have it backlogged if you've had Plus a while. Played kinda like an isometric puzzle-action game with co-op. Was ok I guess

Really looking forward to both titles. Burst on the 3DS was a fantastic side-scroller, so I fully expect Tamsoft to have brought the goods for Shinovi Versus. Bon Appetit should be great on the go too with it being a rhythm game Shame they're digital only, but Im just glad to see them on our shores.
Amusingly, for something to be designated as '1080p' it only needs to have 1080 as it's horizontal resolution while it's vertical resolution can be anything. @Punished_Boss Damn. Close, but no cigar Sony. One day they will fool everyone with a boxed indie game
@XFsWorld That price is probably spot on. The Ps4 release of Putty Squad was about £15-£18 new when it launched & thats pretty much an indie release too
No mention of the new Zombie sisters, Anzu & Sayaka, that are glimpsed in this new trailer? Honestly the most intruiging aspect of this latest release so far with how it all might fit together when you consider that you spend about 95% of your time in the series slashing up zombies. Will they be friends? foes? are they playable? Who knows. Should be interesting finding out
People still going on about this? Jeez I had made the choice to not put any of my cards on my account, so I wasn't too bothered when it happened and the digital copies of Infamous & Wipeout HD Fury with a month of PS+ seemed fair enough for me at the the time. Didn't they even take out some kind of insurance package for people who may have had their card accounts compromised? I dont understand why Sony should have to give more
