Has been a great little series so far, glad to see another on the way. May look cute but they can be pretty dark, hell the second game opens with a suicide. Not for the faint of heart.
As someone with no interest in TLOU2 so is looking in from the outside, the fanboys & the haters are just as bad as each other judging from this comment section. Heaven forbid someone has a different opinion of a game.
Let's be frank. Naughty Dog have been lacklustre this generation and haven't been able to replace Amy Henning with someone of equal calibre. The sooner people stop putting the studio on an untouchable pedestal, the sooner you'll realise this for yourself.
Surely folk have a backlog to get through instead to pass the time. Even if I was in isolation for a couple of months I would still have a sizeable backlog at the end of it.
Think you guys dropped the ball a bit not including the Panasonic EX750 series on this list. I picked up the 50" variant from Curry's last week for only £599 (not bad considering it was £1200 at launch) Gotta dial the settings in a bit as out of the box is a tad naff, but Panasonic really does have a ridiculous amount of options within their menu to get the job done. Games & UHD blurays have looked superb in HDR on the set. Also has the added bonus of active 3D support, could well be the last set to have 3D support going forward
Glorious. Should be a great game for VR. Dirt Rally can get pretty pacey with the faster cars & handbrake turns so should be able to handle this easily enough
Western devs still have a little way to go to get on the same level as devs in the east who have been writing great female characters for donkeys years. Celebrate it by all means, but all these characters are still light years behind gaming's greatest protagonist anyway - Nep Nep.
@kyleforrester87 Your right about Japanese gamers not caring much for Western RPG's much, though western games in general are rising in popularity there - just REALLY slowly. Can't say I'm against their attitude though, I'd prefer to play the latest Hyperdimension Neptunia than the latest Mass Effect myself, but then being in the west means both western AAA & Japanese oddities are readily available to play at any time.
The Witcher 3 making it onto the list should be commended though, it would've had to beat some other stellar JRPG's to get there. Maybe it shows they aren't missing out on good western games as much as expected
@kyleforrester87 I'm surprised a trigger warning wasn't issued alongside this article after reading through the comment section. The list makes perfect sense. Its from a Japanese magazine and the participants were Japanese gamers. What someone in Japan values in their RPG's is going to be different than someone here in the west. As someone that plays primarily JRPG's, can't say I agree with most of the list oddly enough, doesn't mean I'm going to rag on Famitsu for daring to run it. No doubt a reversal would illicit a similar response there if a list was packed with WRPG. Diversity of thought & opinion still exists in 2017 after all. Can't really comment on the FFXV thing myself though, haven't played it & don't really feel the need to. Quite content with FFX/X-2 on PC at the moment.
It's an RPG list done in Japan. The fact a WRPG made it onto the list should be celebrated instead of getting butthurt over the list not being packed head to toe with WRPG's that wouldn't even make it onto a top 20 WRPG list.
I was a R&C guy back in the day, so I'm content still getting all these regular new releases for that and haven't put much thought into J&D. Feel sorry for the J&D folk though, It's kinda absurd to be hearing of remasters again. It's about time they just made a new game. Or just outsource to Gearbox.....
@Fight_Teza_Fight The combat system for FFXIII wasn't that bad to me either. Reminded me a lot of how combat was in FFX-2, and X-2 was a damn good spin-off.
Isn't this the one that pretty much felt like you was playing an offline MMO the whole time? Looked nice but was pretty lackluster to me coming off the back of FFX. Wont do any harm giving it another shot though, It has been a while.
The original had a throwback feel & CG look to it. I didn't think it was that bad to be honest. Need to see more on the sequel though to get an idea on how things are shaping up.
Primal & Ghosthunter would be grand. Still graphically amazing for the Ps2, so they would at least have more time to shore up the somewhat clunky gameplay that reared it's head on the odd occasion. A full blown sequel to Primal on Ps4 would be preferable though
Really enjoyed Black Flag, but haven't played any since. This one looks to have an interesting setting, but one of the reasons I enjoyed Black Flag was that I could just sail away if I got bored of the usual fodder. Wonder if this will have some kind of side game aspect to it as well
Does Minecraft even NEED cross-play though? There's a difference between WANT & NEED. Something like EVE: Valkyrie does NEED cross-play as its a VR title that will have a small pool of players as it is. War Thunder NEEDs it too as the combined pool between Ps4 & PC is only a few thousand. Minecraft? I don't see it. It doesn't need cross-play as it's a massively popular title that will have countless games at any time on each platform.
I used the Sharpshooter with Killzone 3, even dabbled online with it. T'was a fun endeavor. This has me just as intrigued. I need a PSVR first though...
I miss the glory days of Ghost Recon, back when the original & its Island Thunder expansion dropped. I'll keep my eye on this one but the series has been all over the place since Ghost Recon 2 so you never know how it's gonna turn out
I just hope it doesn't end up a damp squid like Mighty No.9 with all these delays. It was a highly anticipated game for myself when I first seen it but my enthusiasm has started to wane of late
I've been seeing articles like this all day and its a humurous notion when one considers that the UK has lost a wealth of good studios these past few years whilst being in the EU anyway. The notion it somehow funds aspects of the industry here is another funny one. We pay the EU £12 Billion, they give us a £4 Billion rebate that they delegate on where its spent. We fund these endeavours with our own money in essence.
It's not even been one day yet. Give it a couple of months for everything to settle and it'll be business as usual. Everyone just needs to calm down
Kotaku as a source lol anyway With Zen & Polaris heading our way from AMD in the not too distant future, A 4K capable console in a similar power envelope ain't too far fetched in a couple of years - if AMD's showcased power consumption for Polaris is at least legit
These Plus games seem to be getting eerily similar, which is hardly surprising when its indie after indie each month. Usually I don't mind one bit, but this is the first month I'm probably not even gonna bother trying them. Luckily I've done a lot of Share Play lately, so I've still had a good months worth of Plus
There's only one word that can aptly describe the upcoming Doom - glorious. I've been hyped since the E3 footage last year. Can't wait for some old school fragging.
I just hope it doesn't mean less quirky Japanese games if the company is being westernised. The main reason I buy PlayStation is for the quirky niche goodness. It will be interesting to see how Japanese consumers react as they tend to prefer their own products. Worst case scenario would be if they see PlayStation as an American product, a La Xbox, going forward.
Wouldn't mind another exotic hardware fuelled PlayStation myself. It's all good having a mid range PC for £200, but I want my console to have a CPU that can launch missiles!
Helldivers makes the whole lineup worthwhile, even though I bought the game at release anyway. I'll just be glad of more Troopers to help keep the enemies of Super Earth at bay.
I reviewed the PC version when it launched a while back and came to the same conclusion. It's a really good game, just best enjoyed in small bursts. The upcoming Vita port would be an ideal platform for the game
Custom themes is pretty much the only one that interests me. I had my Ps3 decked out with a Star Trek inspired LCARS XMB complete with sound effects. Twas glorious
My nephew had trouble logging into his account on his new Ps4 at lunchtime, but he was randomly logged in a few hours later. Not much of a problem tho as he was enjoying Wolfenstein anyway
@TheMightyPunram Come on you apes,You wanna live forever!
@sinalefa I'd just forego 3 & 4. New Vegas is the only modern Fallout worth playing due to it actually tyeing into Fallou 1 & 2 in numerous ways and has much better storytelling from Obsidian. For a company thats built a huge lore with Elder Scrolls, Bethesda don't half seem to lack respect for the original Fallout lore and just wanna stomp it into the dirt any chance they get. I hear 4 has at least fixed the shonky gunplay from previous releases, so if 3 & 4 are your only options then your best bet would be to just skip 3 entirely
£12.99 is a good price compared to other streaming services, Netflix charges £8.99 in the UK to access HD streaming & has an absolutely dire selection that gets worse every month
@DESS-M-8 ownership of digital media is an illusion and a myth. You don't own any of that content you've bought, you've just purchased the right to access the content. That's how it works. It's the distributor that owns the content

Re: Review: SUPERHOT VR (PS4)
@get2sammyb Did you try this on the Pro? Having picked up a Pro for the VR boost I'm wondering if there's any improvement here.
Almost picked this up on Steam a few weeks ago but glad I waited & will probably get it on PSVR in the next couple of weeks instead.
