Rebirth trailer is the best videogame trailer I have seen in the last few years. Mind blowing in scale and revisiting so many iconic moments while getting everything right! Awesome stuff.

You could get thing so so wrong reworking Cait Sith or Vincent Valentine for modern graphic standards ā€¦

Re: Sony and Microsoft Sign a 'Binding Agreement' to Keep Call of Duty on PlayStation

@SgtTruth Actually no, Nintendo famously screwed Sony up that time. They revealed they intended to go with Philips on the same day Sony unveiled the snes CD add-on ā€œPlayStationā€.

I am not saying there are good or bad guys but if you look at their arc Sony actually blossomed into a videogame developer, making their own titles, something people have latched ontoā€¦Microsoft is just buying pre-existing assets by other companies.

@Anke I wouldnā€™t call XVI boring by any means but yeah XV was a far more ambitious, complex and interesting videogame for me too. XVI is very good at what it does but itā€™s like we are applauding a guy for walking in a straight line while booing another because it did not land elegantly after a triple backflip.

Street fighter 6! It doesnā€™t seem so but it is underrated. Finest game I played in years.

Baldurā€™s gate III will probably be awesome as well.

FFXVI is a great game but it is missing ā€œthat somethingā€ for me.

@Cordyceps middle eastern and south asian people are represented in the game, as are various sexual orientations, so it is hardly about bigotry. Letā€™s not just jump into ready-made bandwagons. As the director explained, the small geographical setup and restricted travel featured in the world building would just be a lot less believable and powerful if the population was highly multiethnic and cosmopolitan.

Would definitely play and ATB combat sounds perfect for a mid budget release, just improving on how it was!

FFX already has the ā€œscaleā€ of a proper 3D game so it would not become as gigantic as VII. They would need to spice up that combat and eliminate random encounters though!

Re: Honkai: Star Rail's Story Expands Significantly Prior to PS5 Launch

Question for anybody playing: is this worth it for the story and characters? Is the turn based combat addicting? I like my turn based combat but it has to have its quirks (I like something like Bravely Default or FF13 or Grandia II/III or even western games like Divinity 2 but stuff like Dragon quest 11 or FF10 or even Persona games tends to put me to sleep lately if I canā€™t turn up the difficulty)

Capcom is doing some next level animations! That bouncing at the end šŸ˜Ø great voice actor too!

@HonestHick I am generally winning vs modern control players and I think they are at disadvantage in neutral. That said, the fact that modern controls can punish a single whiff with an automatic combo complete with a level 2 or 3 super that will never drop is definitely OP and I hope it will be balanced out. Itā€™s a nice option to welcome newcomers but needs to be fine tuned for sure.

Re: Final Fantasy 16 Is the Seventh Best Final Fantasy Game According to Fans

Nei

I am really enjoying the game a lot but speaking of recent ones I think I prefer XV by quite a big margin.

My top 5 would be V, VI, VII, X, XII in no particular order.

I donā€™t mind the side quests, youā€™re all crazy! Most of them tie nicely into the world building and are decently written. Try an average JRPG and tell me about it.

I love how the comment sections make it seem like the game is of somehow debatable qualityā€¦

ā€¦those are pretty big numbers!
Happy for Square Enix: FFXVI deserves everything and more. There are many JRPG series playing it safe and giving us a slightly updated version of the same game all the times - I love FFXVI and hope FFXVII is nothing like it

@Synthatron_Prime of course the switch has (a lot) less horsepower but comparatively FF16, even judging from the demo, makes much better use of the hardware than TOTK does: it looks unremarkable AND it has a low frame-rate. I am very impressed by how unpolished it looks for a Nintendo title, especially considering it built on a game with the same graphic engine.
