Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. Spent a lot of time gathering herbs, creating potions and selling. 300 groschen for an hour’s work is pretty legit, bought a fancy long sword. Now to visit the combat trainer and see what’s what. Love that you can grind here and it actually produces game changing results in so many other ways than just being OP.
I’m about four hours in and there is an overwhelming amount to do. First things first, try and make 120 coin to buy a permanent room to sleep. Then find my dog, or my horse, or a fight tournament or steal a maypole, or search for gear or pick flowers to level up to sale them for four times the price or explore the map or or or….
@Mattock1987 what would it matter if Black Myth is top three? Isn’t that the point of these lists, that everyone’s opinions are different, and we’re reading to see what Pushsquare’s top is? You may not agree with it, but having ‘a sinking feeling’ is wild. Hope it hasn’t kept you up at night.
@Medic_alert ahh! So I had my base PS5 running and my new Pro and could see the difference. I’m on my base now and everything feels as if it’s been slightly rubbed with Vaseline. There’s a bluriness to it, I only play in performance mode, that the Pro does away with. Can I ask what games you have been playing? I’m on Veilguard at the moment and it’s such a difference. But Stellar Blade kind of shocked me with the upgrade.
@Medic_alert mad huh! You’ve got a Pro too? How are you finding it? I adored the graphics upgrade, so I’ve taken a swing on another one. If the whine is still there, I’m going to deal with it 😂
Hey Push Square team, please report on the coil whine. I returned my Pro today because the sound was LOUDER than my TV. I linked evidence in another thread, but the sound is unbearable for a 700 console. I appreciate some people have accepted coil whine as a part of tech these days, but why!?
My OG day 1 PS5 is silent. But the Pro upgrades to me were amazing and I want that level of peace with the console. If you need anything to bring this to life, not as a negative article; but something that reflects a part of your audience right now, I’ll help.
@Ravix fingers crossed! If it does: I’ll pick it up again. The performance was brilliant but I’ve never been so deflated on a release. The sound was louder than my TV unfortunately.
@Ravix I’ve tried three, two of my friends have the exact same thing. We’ve all returned them unfortunately. Will wait a few months and see if it settles/monitor the reports.
@Ravix the fan was actually pretty nice on the Pro, but the whine was so loud I could hear it with the TV, and it was driving me mad. So I took it back this morning. Fired up my base PS5 again and it’s pretty much silent; no whine. Annoying, was enjoying how it all looks on the Pro but that noise was way too much.
@Kalime78 hope it doesn’t happen to you but I returned my console this morning. Luckily it was off the high street so no quibbles. But I am totally bummed out about it.
@get2sammyb hey Pushsquare team, there’s a whole bunch of us extremely disappointed with the Pro due to the coil whine noise being very loud when playing in game. Found this Reddit thread where someone in the comments has recorded the noise https://www.reddit.com/r/PS5pro/s/kaiv881TqO did this happen in your review? If not, there’s a lot of people with hit or miss machines and it’s something worth flagging for the community. I’ll be returning my console in the morning as the noise can be heard over my TV.
@Loamy ok it ONLY makes that sound when playing games that have been enhanced for PS5 Pro. Veilguard, Dragon’s Dogma 2 both make the noise. Metaphor Refantazio does not.
@Loamy did some searching and a bunch of people are reporting the same noise. Seems like there’s a good batch and a bad batch and I just got unlucky. Only in game, I might add. Idle this thing is silent!
@HappyGamerGirl so happy to hear this as I bounced off DD2 hard. I’ve got it redownloading now to test on the new machine. I didn’t get a new TV for it; but have a Bravia that supports 120hz. Next upgrade will be an OLED panel though!
Can’t wait to try Stellar Blade as well. I think if you have the money, there is a clear difference between the Pro and base. Very happy. Keen to hear any other games that you’ve been surprised by too!
Got mine and kinda feel as if it’s been almost under-sold on how good an upgrade this is. Had my base PS5 since launch too, but the Pro really is next level. Also traded in a bunch of things so managed to get it for £300, which, at that price, is a no brainer.
May cop some heat for this but I’m currently playing through Veilguard and am super hooked on it. But the upgrade on the Pro is incredible. Excited to now finish Burning Shores and pick up Lords of the Fallen again on this console. Just waiting for it all to download!
@ShogunRok thanks for the review! I saw one preview likening the combat to that Guardians of the Galaxy game — which was a blast! Does it feel similar?
The boss rush thing is kinda confusing to me. You could boil any of the Dark Souls games down to that, with some element of off the beaten path exploration. Especially the first one. Dunno, replayed Dark Souls 3 a whole bunch after Elden Ring and the difficulty comes in the boss fights, pushing to get there.
Nioh 2 though, different story. That game’ll whoop ya in the exploration phase.
Loved it on the Switch but had to stop due to the glaring performance issues. After starting Persona 3, excited to jump back into more SMT with upgraded everything.
@QiaraIris eh I don’t mind Rebirth’s world. I’m a massive Xenoblade fan and actually think Future Redeemed was the best implementation of exploration in an open world, as it directly ties to character progression. But comparing it to Tears of the Kingdom… I’m not seeing that. Anyway, a tangent! Rebirth is fine, but I don’t get the hate for Ronin’s world when Rebirth is the same thing, that’s my point.
Not sure why reviewers forgive Rebirth’s open world checklist over Rise of the Ronin. I’m playing both and Dragon’s Dogma 2 and can confidently say that Rise of the Ronin’s open world activities are as good as Rebirth’s. And I’d place both those games above DD2, personally. Each to their own, but just found it funny how one negative for one game is a positive for another — when the quality of the activities are similar.
@Nepp67 go and try to start a new character. I’ll wait. And it says you can get an item to change your character but the item doesn’t allow you to change your character’s body type. Who knows how long you have to wait until you get one anyway. They’re only usable at barberies. Have you played the game yet?
No mention of the fact there’s only one save file. If you create a character you’re not happy with in game, there’s no starting again. In fact you have to pay a microtransaction to change your appearance, and that won’t change body type. In a single player game, this is very scummy.
Hey team has the dragon’s dogma 2 review been pulled down because of the microtransactions? Feeling very disgruntled over here. Created a character, wasn’t happy with how they looked. Went to start afresh but you can’t, you only get one save file. Haven’t tried deleting that yet but will do. Only way to change the character now is to pay in the PS Store. But even then you can’t change body type. This is seriously scummy!

@rusty82 that’s why I said ‘everyone I know who played it.’ I don’t know you, sir.
Re: PS Plus Essential PS5, PS4 Games for March 2025 Announced
Woah, Veilguard is a legit decent game too. Sad to see it tank due to “the internet”, everyone I know who played it has really enjoyed it.

Re: Game of the Year: #3 - Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
YES. This game is amazing. So much heart.
Re: Game of the Year: #4 - Stellar Blade
@somnambulance Roger that! And agreed.
Re: Game of the Year: #4 - Stellar Blade
@somnambulance less polished visuals? Dunno about that. It’s the best looking game on the Pro for me, by far.

@FinneasGH mostly fixed. Or are on Pro.

Solid 9/10 for me — finished it last week after 66 hours. Now for a mage run and Hawke’s armour.

@Medic_alert FOURTH time lucky and got a Pro with no coil whine. Finally!
Re: Hands On: Cyberpunk 2077, Final Fantasy 16, and Metaphor: ReFantazio All Get a Boost on PS5 Pro
@Medic_alert how is the zero dawn remaster? Tempted by it but only if it’s a significant upgrade!

@Medic_alert haha old enough to know better I’m pushing 40, sir! And can hear the whine on three out of three consoles!

@Kalime78 try anything that uses PSSR. It’s every game for me. Also a Reddit thread above I posted has recorded the noise.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy a PS5 Pro?
@Loamy annoying as my base console is very quiet. This is quite loud. Might iron out over time, but as of right now, it’s very noticeable.
Re: Poll: Did You Buy a PS5 Pro?
@DennisReynolds ah not mine. It’s whining. And looking around, a bunch of others are too. Eeek!
Re: Poll: Did You Buy a PS5 Pro?
One thing not discussed is; it’s quite noisy. There’s definitely some whine going on.
Re: Poll: Did You Buy a PS5 Pro?
Can we get an option for: yes, I didn’t pre order but walked into a store and bought one? 😁
