Re: Trails to Azure Arrests March 2023 Release Date on PS4

@ShogunRok The old games play fine. It's just turn based gameply. We're not talking about some old action game that has major issues. One of the main issues with the older titles is how incredibly slow they are with their turn based gameplay. This has been addressed with the turbo mode. Which makes turn based gameplay way more smoother experience.

I disagree again. It's like skipping the first few one piece episodes and going to watch the current wanno arc. Without much context you won't understand many things and yes you do have to put in the time just like with anything else. Estelle and joshua appearing in future games won't have the same impact nor will you know their hardships. Reading or watching it isn't going to help either because you won't see how the characters delevelop.

This part bugs me "The simple reality is that not everyone has the time or the patience to go all the way back to the start and play everything in order." But those same people will put 100+ hours into other games anyways so what's the difference? I think the real reason is not a matter of time, but people want to play the shiny new thing, or what's currently relevant/popular. I garuntee you if the sky evo games came out tomorrow for ps4/switch/pc we wouldn't be having this conversation.

I started with cold steel. I'm one of those people that did what you just said and ended up regretting it. The moment I got to cold steel 3 and it started spoiling other games I immediately stopped. Then I found out could steel 1 and 2 spoil the crossbell games. So moments from azure were ruined for me already. I went back to the sky games and then crossbell games and vowed to not go back to cold steel until I finished them. And ended up loving the sky games more actually. I would never recommend skipping games for that reason.

@ShogunRok I strongly disagree. The sky series is meant to build the world. And the 3rd has MANY important plot points for future games. Not to mention cold steel 4 is their mcu endgame where everything comes together, and the further you go the more you'll spoil the last game. Cold steel spoils the crossbell games and even the sky games. It won't have the same impact if you skip games.

Re: Despite Scrapping PS4, Gotham Knights Is Just 30fps on PS5

RedRiot193

I'd like to also point out demon slayer came out at 30 fps across the board. But the developer promised 60 fps down the line and they gave it to us. Her with all this nonsense when they made a game that runs on pc with a variety of different hardware that will fluctuate different framerate just shows you how full of crap she is. To me this screams red flags as I remember cyberpunk having similar issues. They don't even say "Hey 60 fps will come later" Just straight up 30fps mode. Take it or leave it.

Re: Persona Fans on PlayStation Get Sold Short Again as Xbox Deal Reveals Native Ports

I'm confused. PS4 versions are known to be used for japanese games like this because many more people own ps4's over ps5's over in japan. Also the series x/s sell pretty well in japan so there's that. And these are psp/vita games not modern game, it's fair to assume all of these will work the same as p4g on pc. I don't see the issue here. Unless this is like what falcom did to screw over people on zero that's a different story.

The real issue to me is no physical release.

Re: Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot's Enhanced PS5 Version Drops in January, Is a Free Upgrade

@WallyWest I never looked up anything in bloodborne or elden ring. If I got any extra info it was from streams I watched of people playing it that knew more. But fromsoft games are built that way for a community to come together and figure it out.

Funny because I just replayed it twice. And there were so many moments where I put my controller down after an encounter because que in cutscene. I'm not saying last of us needs to be like fromsoft game btw. What it does it does very well. My main gripe was him wanting db games to be like sony games. And I may have exaggerated but it still somewhat true. Even the "gameplay" parts aren't really gameplay if you catch my drift. You're kinda just walking and talking.

@BoldAndBrash Those cutscenes are based on the manga and show so that's not the games fault. Last of us and god of war drag on with cutscenes taking up most of the time actually played.

"Kakarot lacks fluent gameplay. It's quickly thrown together to make a cheap game in a short amount of time to check all the selling boxes" Strongly disagree. And actually some of the games issues were actually affected during covid. I'm not a fan of that excuse myself. But that was actually an issue cc2 encountered when making kakarot. Gameplay is quite fluent actually. I think you meant depth. For what it is it works very well not amazing but alright.

I actually love the arkham games. Never considered them open world more like sandbox games where many tools are available. A very unfair comparison considering we're talking about a db game where they are limited to source material. So no try that again. We're talking about an anime game not something that blends comic art with realistic looking visuals.

"Never understood why fanboys defend mediocre games of their favourite IP's." Never understood why people with high standards can't just get off their high horsse and smell the fresh air and have fair expectations. Because clearly you don't. Did I say kakarot was perfect? No not once. I actually have MANY gripes with the game that don't pertain to your ridiculiuos standards that actually help elevate it. DB fans don't care about their db games being hyper expensive corridor walking games. They want fun gameplay. There's a reason people till this day still play Xenoverse 2.
