Re: Trails to Azure Arrests March 2023 Release Date on PS4

RedRiot193

@ShogunRok The old games play fine. It's just turn based gameply. We're not talking about some old action game that has major issues. One of the main issues with the older titles is how incredibly slow they are with their turn based gameplay. This has been addressed with the turbo mode. Which makes turn based gameplay way more smoother experience.

I disagree again. It's like skipping the first few one piece episodes and going to watch the current wanno arc. Without much context you won't understand many things and yes you do have to put in the time just like with anything else. Estelle and joshua appearing in future games won't have the same impact nor will you know their hardships. Reading or watching it isn't going to help either because you won't see how the characters delevelop.

This part bugs me "The simple reality is that not everyone has the time or the patience to go all the way back to the start and play everything in order." But those same people will put 100+ hours into other games anyways so what's the difference? I think the real reason is not a matter of time, but people want to play the shiny new thing, or what's currently relevant/popular. I garuntee you if the sky evo games came out tomorrow for ps4/switch/pc we wouldn't be having this conversation.

I started with cold steel. I'm one of those people that did what you just said and ended up regretting it. The moment I got to cold steel 3 and it started spoiling other games I immediately stopped. Then I found out could steel 1 and 2 spoil the crossbell games. So moments from azure were ruined for me already. I went back to the sky games and then crossbell games and vowed to not go back to cold steel until I finished them. And ended up loving the sky games more actually. I would never recommend skipping games for that reason.

Re: Trails to Azure Arrests March 2023 Release Date on PS4

RedRiot193

@ShogunRok I strongly disagree. The sky series is meant to build the world. And the 3rd has MANY important plot points for future games. Not to mention cold steel 4 is their mcu endgame where everything comes together, and the further you go the more you'll spoil the last game. Cold steel spoils the crossbell games and even the sky games. It won't have the same impact if you skip games.

Re: Despite Scrapping PS4, Gotham Knights Is Just 30fps on PS5

RedRiot193

I'd like to also point out demon slayer came out at 30 fps across the board. But the developer promised 60 fps down the line and they gave it to us. Her with all this nonsense when they made a game that runs on pc with a variety of different hardware that will fluctuate different framerate just shows you how full of crap she is. To me this screams red flags as I remember cyberpunk having similar issues. They don't even say "Hey 60 fps will come later" Just straight up 30fps mode. Take it or leave it.

Re: Persona Fans on PlayStation Get Sold Short Again as Xbox Deal Reveals Native Ports

RedRiot193

I'm confused. PS4 versions are known to be used for japanese games like this because many more people own ps4's over ps5's over in japan. Also the series x/s sell pretty well in japan so there's that. And these are psp/vita games not modern game, it's fair to assume all of these will work the same as p4g on pc. I don't see the issue here. Unless this is like what falcom did to screw over people on zero that's a different story.

The real issue to me is no physical release.

Re: Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot's Enhanced PS5 Version Drops in January, Is a Free Upgrade

RedRiot193

@WallyWest I never looked up anything in bloodborne or elden ring. If I got any extra info it was from streams I watched of people playing it that knew more. But fromsoft games are built that way for a community to come together and figure it out.

Funny because I just replayed it twice. And there were so many moments where I put my controller down after an encounter because que in cutscene. I'm not saying last of us needs to be like fromsoft game btw. What it does it does very well. My main gripe was him wanting db games to be like sony games. And I may have exaggerated but it still somewhat true. Even the "gameplay" parts aren't really gameplay if you catch my drift. You're kinda just walking and talking.

Re: Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot's Enhanced PS5 Version Drops in January, Is a Free Upgrade

RedRiot193

@BoldAndBrash Those cutscenes are based on the manga and show so that's not the games fault. Last of us and god of war drag on with cutscenes taking up most of the time actually played.

"Kakarot lacks fluent gameplay. It's quickly thrown together to make a cheap game in a short amount of time to check all the selling boxes" Strongly disagree. And actually some of the games issues were actually affected during covid. I'm not a fan of that excuse myself. But that was actually an issue cc2 encountered when making kakarot. Gameplay is quite fluent actually. I think you meant depth. For what it is it works very well not amazing but alright.

I actually love the arkham games. Never considered them open world more like sandbox games where many tools are available. A very unfair comparison considering we're talking about a db game where they are limited to source material. So no try that again. We're talking about an anime game not something that blends comic art with realistic looking visuals.

"Never understood why fanboys defend mediocre games of their favourite IP's." Never understood why people with high standards can't just get off their high horsse and smell the fresh air and have fair expectations. Because clearly you don't. Did I say kakarot was perfect? No not once. I actually have MANY gripes with the game that don't pertain to your ridiculiuos standards that actually help elevate it. DB fans don't care about their db games being hyper expensive corridor walking games. They want fun gameplay. There's a reason people till this day still play Xenoverse 2.

Re: Talking Point: We Need to Discuss This Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 Remaster

RedRiot193

@thefourfoldroot1 "Mate, you are clearly unwilling to see things from anyone else’s point of view." And mate you're lacking the understanding of the situation. Why does it matter if it's "not for us"? The people that this is even for have a better option right now that is more affordable with dlc included. "I am able to accept that without getting bent out of shape about them “taking time away” from making games I might want more. " That is expected from what I've gathered. I'm more passionate about these games than you are and so are many other people. We've been waiting a lot longer than you for those other games to get similar treatment yet we're met with this. Talk about not seeing other people points of view huh? Heed your own advice. "Is it so hard to understand that someone who has bought an expensive next gen machine might want a version of the game that takes advantage of it?" That's great but they want that with NEW games. Not some 5 year old game that has already been improved on their machine.

That's fine you've come accross as ignorant and naiive. Being "entitled" is what corparate fanboys like to call people who call out bs. And I'll remain "whiny" because I don't just consume products. I ask questions.

"This doesn’t mean I can’t see this update might be nice for other PS5 owners. Maybe you should look beyond your own situation too." My own as if I'm the only one that has an issue with this but okay. I've already made it clear that you're a hypocrite.

Re: Talking Point: We Need to Discuss This Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 Remaster

RedRiot193

@thefourfoldroot1 "Being a PS5 version is, of course, going to allow them to make it better." Subjective. "The fact that, to someone who has already played it, it might be only “incremental”, is clearly irrelevant to those who haven’t played it." Except for the fact they can just play the ps4 version.

"see above answer as to why it isn’t irrelevant to people who have not played the game before." Re-read why I stated it is.

"Are you seriously suggesting that this dev could remake those games, of which they have zero knowledge," Another dumb question. Bluepoint says hello. A developer who has taken demon souls from ancient hardware at this point and made it into a modern game while still keeping the original engine intact. Regardless of that. No I'm not expecting these devs to do any of that. But if we want to go that route. Killzone is a guerilla games game. Which would have been the better option. Or sony could have simply you know? Asked anybody else to do those games.

"You seem to be making a strange argument." It's not strange it's logically sound actually. You seem to be one of the only people struggling to understand. Keep pushing the new people argument. It hasn't worked for you so far yet you keep pushing that stale point.

Don't talk about game preservation while praising them "preserving" A game that's perfectly playable already. You have no idea what you're talking about in this regard. I mentioned games that are locked behind hardware that is trapped on old hardware sony has given up on. Those deserve it much more.

"It takes far far less time and effort than doing a complete remake with a likely very different team of people 10 years down the line." Now this is a strange argument. Lets praise less effort and remake every game from the past 5 years or hell 3 years and charge loads! Lets remake ragnorak in 3 years too why won't we!?! You are eating right out sonys hands. What's funny is your argument is for other people. While constnetly defending sony. I shouldn't be surprised considering the website we're on. But this is on another level.

Re: Talking Point: We Need to Discuss This Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 Remaster

RedRiot193

@thefourfoldroot1

1. Being a Ps5 version means nothing. And incrimintal upgrades are not enough to justify it nor does that make it "better". You haven't seen anything nor have I. That wasn't my initial point to begin with. Regardless if it's somehow graphically superior. It's still unnecessary.

2. This argument is irrelavent when the ps4 version is still available on the same system.

3. Are you seriously asking such a dumb question? Bloodborne, Jack games, sly cooper games, old god of war games, legend of dragoon, wild arms, old killzone games, soul sacrifice, freedom wars, dark cloud etc. Games that these recourses can be poured into to get a remake/remaster. And I'll pull your card. Most of the games I've mentioned are actual games that loads of players have never played and a good chunk of them are not available on ps4 nor ps5. In what imaginary world do you live in that sony is somehow is doing this for new players and not just another lazy attempt for more money? You're naiive.

Re: Talking Point: We Need to Discuss This Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 Remaster

RedRiot193

@thefourfoldroot1 "Really am not understanding you. The ps4 version is still available. This version doesn’t remove your ability to get and play it (Or play the one you have already). In fact, it’ll likely mean the market is flooded with more second hand cheaper versions."

Literally that is what makes this pointless. It's really not that hard to understand. And no this is merely a more EXPENSIVE version of a game that already exists and is only 5 years old. If you wanted to play this game you'd have played this already. I never understood why someone would wait for a "next gen" version that is 3 times more expensive than the one currently available is still very much playable. We're not talking re2 og to remake or the mass effect le. This game is STILL available for any newcomers. This argument is so stale and old it's not even that simple. New versions of games that came out prior are known to do poorly compared to their original release. Any new player with logic would just play the ps4 version with the ps5 update.

"And of course Sony aren’t giving it away for free, why would they?" It shouldn't be free because it shouldn't even exist to begin with.

" If you own that inferior PS4 version already then you’ll likely decide it isn’t worth the price to get the better version. What’s difficult to understand about that?" Inferior? Yeah that some strong words for someone who hasn't seen what the ps5 version even bring to the table. It's all of a sudden inferior even though it'll be the one always ahead in sales.

What's so difficult for YOU to understand that instead of working on an unnecessary remake, we can be getting a new IP or a remaster/remake that deserves it much more?

Re: Talking Point: We Need to Discuss This Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 Remaster

RedRiot193

@thefourfoldroot1 Except being a ps5 version doesn't matter in the slightest when the original still looks really good and is available to play on ps5. And you're crazy if you think sony is going to give this away for free. So what are you losing? 50 bucks when you could have just spent 20. What else are we losing? Valuable recourses that can go to literally anything esle worth while.
