I suspect he didn't 'fit' in or approve of the new Sony and PlayStation direction under its new leadership, so out the door he went.. something tells me fans don't like this new Sony?

Ah good ok Sony MO, never does backwards compatibility as it favours remaking the same games and selling them for full price to make a quick buck. Yea PS4 games work, but do PS3? And with enhanced HDR and FPS? Like on Xbox....
Seriously should leave TLOU well alone and make a Days Gone 2.. and get ND to make something new for once, preferably a game not stuffed full of Druckman's piss poor political opinions and writing.

Sony haven’t got a clue how to react to Game Pass. I recommend they just get that PS5 slim out the door, actually make the system reliable, and get that VR2 launched with games like Half Life Alex.

I should add I cannot wait to see how they portray Ellie and Joel in the upcoming The Last Of Us series... 🙄

Oh dear... I did have high hopes for it, but, alas, it may end up like all the other filament based on games Hollywood churns out. Crap.
Drake isn’t cool, he’s playful, and stuffed full of ancient knowledge and history. The character has never been portrayed as cool, did Tom do any research for the role first? Did the show runners and director and writers? Probably not enough. They most likely thought it ‘cool’ to make a film and make some money from the games series.

@awp69 I actually left PlayStation and just got a Series X, one of the reasons being I was sooo fed up with how loud both my PS4 and PS4 Pro were, I should not have to wait a year to buy a console simply because it takes Sony that long to make a quiet running model revision. It should be like that day one. I have to say this news doesn’t give me confidence in the PS5’s design remaining quiet either.

I have to say that’s a reach to allow users to control the fan speeds, so their PS5’s don’t overheat. Seems like a cop out as the system itself should be doing that automatically. But I bet it’ll be loud when turned up to stop overheating. Doesn’t seem like a very good thermal design?

@wiiware Yeap and to me it’s why they are dead as a studio now, anything Druckman wants will now be done. And for me he ruined TLOU2 and thinks way too much of himself.

@wiiware Apparently Druckman wanted to make TLOU1 with the story he put in TLOU2 but he was outvoted in it, thank God! He is someone who should stay far far far away from revenge stories as he hasn’t a clue how to do them..

It looked pretty generic, but fast paced. Shame it’s yet another Sony third person over the shoulder game, they seem to hate with a passion FPS game styles? They haven’t allowed one of their studios to make one for years now..

@BowTiesAreCool Yes this, ignoring the awards everyone watches to see the new games, and their were a lot! He seemed very grateful at the end for pulling it all off, I take my hat off to Geoff for making a decent show in the current climate. Even getting Keanu to livestream! And Nolan!

It absolutely met my expectations, but far far more for Xbox then PlayStation, overall I did’t see anything worth it’s announcement from Sony in the show.. and the awards were way too biased, yeah TLOU2 obviously won game of the year, which it didn’t deserve, but it no way deserved ‘some’ of its other awards next to that competition... even Geoff didn’t really seem to care about the awards and only cared about all the new game announcements! But overall Nintendo and Microsoft brought it, Sony made a whimper..

@As5as51n0 That’s crap if true. The new mode is being compared to the 4K 30FPS RT mode so I don’t think it is 1080P but 4K.

Now this is a bit more like it! 4K ray tracing at 60FPS, oh yes, hope DF do a breakdown video soon in it. And ssoooooo many PlayStation fans said this would never ever happen on the PS5 hardware, despite me saying otherwise..

A few places not on this list.. it you may as well ask for money for Christmas to pit towards the console, I keep looking for both next gen systems and it’s pointless. If not there at the right time forget it... none of them state the time they will put the devices up for sale so unless your a bot it’s pointless..

@Paranoimia Well I’m not going to read some biased multi page report, but my point was about treatment of staff, not anti competitive accusations. So considering the large numbers of staff who left Naughty Dog due to their treatment, when did Microsoft do the same? And no redundancies are not the same as that’s staff being asked to leave by the company.

@nessisonett No he now just seems to lack any imagination and treats his staff bad. Naughty Dogs antics are well documented, I don’t recall reading anything about Microsoft. Yes I’m aware he made Uncharted 4 and it was not very good for me. A lot of talented people have left the company during and after TLOU and to me it shows in their games that came after.

@Olmaz Well I will go that far, the story is rubbish, sure it looks pretty with great animation and voice acting, but the story is rubbish. But where as for you it’s all political, for me it’s the fact they deliberately used controversy to warrant the games existence, not the subject matter apart from killing Joel.. They seem incapable of writing a proper sequel that would have made sense, Ellie was known as gay years ago and Abby hasn’t been portrayed as a transgender once, just big but in their world it makes sense, it also lacked any of that connection you had between the characters of the first game. But when it comes to Uncharted 4 I just overall didn’t enjoy it as much as the others, it lacked the wow factor the rest of them had.

@nessisonett So your accusing Microsoft of employing bad practices? And yes I’m interested in what ex Naughty Dog talent will be creating, why? These are the people that made Uncharted 2 and 3 and TLOU 1 after all.

@Olmaz Yes he will be bribing his views more into his story’s and the studios games, they hadn’t done so before TLOU2, but we shall see what happens. I think their time as an elite studio has passed now though.

Oh dear, well considering Uncharted 4 was a bit crap and TLOU2 was the worst story of any game I’ve ever played out of the hundreds if not more I have played, then this will be pretty bad for the games I liked. He and his other Co President to be facing charges for their treatment if there staff IMO.

Many actual experts have said the XSX more powerful CPU is the reason it loads some games faster, nothing to do with software at all. And secondly so you are basing your ‘opinion’ on last gen machines with hard disk drives which in itself is a massively flawed opinion. It fails to take into account the new file structures of the SSD and subsystems behind them and how they operate. Others correctly state one is faster then the other in different circumstances, you are however claiming to know why this is without providing any proof.

@Angeljuice Ao it’s guess work on your part and personal opinion. Ok, that’s a lot of games gaining from some software then, which no one else has claimed by the way. And as I said those PS5 are maximum and not sustained throughout speeds.

And secondly, if your such a wonderful developer perhaps you should go and tell Ubisoft and Microsoft they are doing it wrong, because they seem to differ in their opinions to you, also using your logic why didn’t PS4 games look like God Of War day one? It’s not some mythical box after all according to your logic?
I think you’ve rather oversimplified it in your own situation and ignored other factors. Ubisoft have already patches Valhalla on the XSX so it doesn’t screen tearing and have FPS drops, so they must be getting better with the system.
But I can tell by your attitude your not a very professional developer, probably a junior working on low end stuff, most grown ups use better language then you. They don’t need to use swear words designed to bypass filters to get their points across....

@Flaming_Kaiser I agree, it was a stupid marketing gimmick, probably why they changed to now to the most powerful Xbox. And I also agree with you on the fan base, but it is a fact it’s a more powerful console. It is very early days and we shall have to see how that power is used.
But for fair balance it is Sony and it’s fans who floated about the PS5’s SSD speeds, yet the XSX has easily beaten it with some game loads on its SSD, so I’d say both sides have been equally in talking up the machines incorrectly in some aspects.
We need some proper next gen games, not cross gen, but that won’t happen on either machine for a couple of years it seems. So we will have to instead hope third party games come out on next gen only sooner and have the same back and forth performance comparisons.

@Max2574 Sorry but no proof their is any bug, we shall see if any bug gets patched, the PS5 can’t do ray tracing and 60FPS very well because of how it’s been designed. In fact that’s why it does 120fps better, for now, and even then it was barely any better with DF themselves stating the Series X only drops in a couple of scenes, looks like your just talking salty fanboy nonsense..

@Max2574 Funny then how you fail to acknowledge the fact the Series X runs COD at a flawless 60FPS with ray tracing then, eh?.... Whilst the PS5 cannot and Sony has got the marketing rights to that game too.
