Re: Site News: We Have a PS5

I’d really like to know if it has any sort of Quick Resume feature like the Series X, and if not how fast is it to swap games? That are on the SSD and not blue ray.

Re: Mark Wahlberg Gives Us Our First Glimpse of Sully in the Uncharted Movie

@Subsided Well in the U.K. on streaming services, Cineworld is closing all its cinemas globally including the U.K., I wouldn’t want to go anywhere near a cinema for some time yet! Apple apparently are interested in buying the new James Bind film to screen, and Amazon will be screening that new disaster film Greenland that was meant to be a summer blockbuster but has never made it to the big screens. So expect a film like this and others to be on streaming services, or delayed until 2022.

Re: Another Indie Dev Suggests Sony's Denying PS Store Sale Requests

S1ayeR74

Reports like that remind me why it’s such a shame the PS5 Digital looks far better then the disk based version.... I have to agree I do seem to recall through the PS4’s history it has been the same titles (noticeably first party ones) going on sale under different theme umbrellas. Gotta say on the Xbox they don’t do that and offer other games too. With Gamepass though Sony had better change their tune in the new gen as they possibly may lose some developers to the dark side....

Re: Bethesda Games Are Looking Increasingly Unlikely on PS5

S1ayeR74

@Col_McCafferty To me only Naughty Dog are good at storylines, I find Horizons story to be flat and boring by comparison, it doesn’t have the spells the ND games do with their writing, so in that case I do actually find some Xbox games surpass Sonys story’s. Of course opinions will be varied on that.

Re: Bethesda Games Are Looking Increasingly Unlikely on PS5

S1ayeR74

@Balosi I’m so impressed with BOTH companies I am struggling to decide which console to buy, that’s how good to me Xbox are now, but to me they also had great games with Forza and Gears Of War, Sonys games for a bit stale towards the end feeling like the over the shoulder story simulators they are. Feeling a bit samey.
So I’m not pessimistic at all about either company.

Re: Bethesda Games Are Looking Increasingly Unlikely on PS5

S1ayeR74

@Balosi Not to the same value though, not just for PlayStation anyway have they? A lot of Sony’s key players were there from the very start, indeed the CEO of Polyphony began his career by being the note taker at all of Sony’s PlayStation meetings in its very early beginnings.

Re: Bethesda Games Are Looking Increasingly Unlikely on PS5

@TheFrenchiestFry Absolutely, I applaud him for what he’s achieved. Especially with the idea of GamePass. It will certainly be a closer race this time. I’m also interested to see what their new AAA studio The Initiative makes especially with all the ex Naughty Dog employees they’ve hired.

Re: All PS5 Launch Games

S1ayeR74

That must be 9 exclusives at launch, 9!! Microsoft has one if The Medium is a lunch game for the Series X and S..... it’s beginning to look a lot like a repeat of this gen.. one platform has games one doesn’t...

Re: PS5's Dust Catchers Will Make for Easy Cleaning

S1ayeR74

Overall I was very impressed with the cooling design and how you can maintain it, they have thought about it being kept clean. And access is really good to the fan. With the Series X it’s restricted and a big box to collect dust and the only way to clean it is take it apart. To me this is a win for Sony.

Re: DIRT 5, Maneater Saves Won't Transfer from PS4 to PS5

S1ayeR74

@thefourfoldroot Of course it’s a software lock! The PS5 are built in the same X86 architecture as the Xbox One and Series X! It’s foolish to stare this is something to do with the SSD, Sony saying it’s up to the devs is an attempt to hide this fact. Or a lot of devs are incapable of working out how to do it, but I doubt that.

Re: DIRT 5, Maneater Saves Won't Transfer from PS4 to PS5

S1ayeR74

This is kinda a joke to be honest, the Xbox works perfectly fine and it’s using the same hardware basis.. both old and new gen, but Sony can’t or won’t make cross saves work? It has nothing to do with the games and everything to do with Sony’s OS or something software related, this game launches what 2 weeks before the PS5 does yet the saves won’t transfer..

Re: Rumour: Your PS4 Saves May Not Work on All Upgraded PS5 Games

S1ayeR74

@LiamCroft That’s great that we have an update on this, but also bad as this is from a developer and NOT Sony, who haven’t said a word on this at all. It’s more evidence of rumours being made simply due to a complete lack of facts or information from Sony, 40 odd days from launch! And even then in your story the developer seems to only discuss how there own game will work.

Re: Soapbox: The Week After PS5's Showcase, Sony Told Us Nothing About Its Next-Gen Console

S1ayeR74

@Flaming_Kaiser Firstly no I don’t only talk about ‘negative’ stuff, or have you only read comments on here? Secondly it’s not nonsense as others on here are repeating the same thing. Sony have never launched a console like this in such secret. And I have never known a game that launched in 6 or 7 weeks to not show any details of gameplay. Please do tell if you know of one.

Re: Soapbox: The Week After PS5's Showcase, Sony Told Us Nothing About Its Next-Gen Console

S1ayeR74

@JustNeepz No, a faster SSD will not close the gap in graphics performance. That’s a fact, it’s a storage device not a graphics processor. Third party games ran better on the Xbox One X and it will be the same with the Series X. And the TF in the new gen indicate higher performance then in the last gen devices.
Also the Series X is built better for 4K games hence the split memory, it’s more work to code for but yields better performance with 4K games. I can see it comfortably out performing the PS5, people won’t care about faster load times when the picture they are looking at looks better on one over the other.

Re: Soapbox: The Week After PS5's Showcase, Sony Told Us Nothing About Its Next-Gen Console

S1ayeR74

@hi_drnick Firstyk your point about the PS3 is moot as you literally repeated what I stated, try to come up with something original eh? And it was a failure until they changed it, if the PS4 didn’t succeed the PS3 was such a failure Sony would have closed its PlayStation department, go and look it up. Facts you deny...
And the PSP was a sales joke compared to its competition you know that Nintendo DS.. which sold over 154 million units, again facts you deny and many people questioned Sony making a second handheld due to this. The Vita only managed 16.2 million units sold, a total and utter a failure, and again if you bothered to read my comment properly, instead of seeing select words and trying to come up with a sarcastic arrogant response, you’ll see I stated it could have been great. You’d also see I quoted a selection of the consoles I own including a Vita, so you’ve only made yourself look a bit foolish with your reply.
Sonys arrogance nearly killed PlayStation, it remains to be seen if they have repeated that mistake with the PS5 because so far they are not doing a very good job.

Re: Soapbox: The Week After PS5's Showcase, Sony Told Us Nothing About Its Next-Gen Console

S1ayeR74

@hi_drnick FYI PSP flopped in sales, PSVITA they dropped support for it very early when it could have been great and instead sold it as an accessory to your PS4.. also the PS3 flopped until they redesigned it and slashed its price, then it sold more, up to that point the Xbox 360 was outselling it regularly. And I have a launch PSP and I have a Vita and a PS3 slim and had a PS4 Fat, and had several Xbox 360’s.
