Re: Soapbox: The Week After PS5's Showcase, Sony Told Us Nothing About Its Next-Gen Console

@Eadgar Ah in that case you are right, they have shown Gears 5 running on the Series X which looked fantastic it had to be said, and Minecraft, also tech demos of both showing raytracing and HDR enhancements. It was in Austin Evans video from months ago! Since then there has been one game shown on the Series X, can’t even remember what it was but it wasn’t anything big or special. But they showed a gameplay demo reel for the Series S at its launch?
We know all about the Xbox console but next to nothing about the games, and we know mostly about the PS5 games but next to nothing about the console. Very strange indeed.

The biggest thing we don’t know is how loud it is! Would everyone be happy if you had another PS4 Pro in front of you? Forcing you to wear headphones or turn the TV volume to max just so you can play a game comfortably? I hate how loud my PS4 Pro is, and my launch PS4 was too loud too.. it does in fact put me off using my Pro, and no I’m not going to wear headphones to make up for Sony’s poor design choices.

@kyethegr8t No you clearly don’t understand marketing, this is one crap, like really crap, marketing job. It’s a joke to be honest in the games industry as a whole. I have never known a game that can be pre ordered for £70 and it comes out in what 6 weeks and you cannot see any gameplay of it. Or find out how the game actually plays. Add to that a console that you cannot see, basically Sony has totally and utterly failed to connect with Social Media for its marketing, Microsoft has been heavily embracing it for several months now and make Sony look very amateurish.
All we’ve basically had is Sony showing some game gameplay off and nothing else. And Microsoft showing the console off and no gameplay. Now I can understand the games not being ready due to Covid, but then does that mean the PS5 isn’t ready due to Covid too but is going to launch anyway? Yeah I can see that not ending well..

Re: Rapper Travis Scott Has a PS5

S1ayeR74

@Medic_Alert haha yeah it took them a mi h or two to show the back of the console after showing the front even! That’s kinda pathetic really. It’s drip feeding information purely for the sake of drip feeding it. Next they’ll show you the power on beeps, a week later the lights on the front. A week later the boot up screen....

Re: Gamers Will Happily Pay $70 for PS5 Games, Argues Analyst

S1ayeR74

Hhahahahahahahahaha what analyst is this? ‘Happily’ pay it, erm no.. in a totally unsafe unknown financial landscape when no one knows if they will be keeping there jobs or not now, no one will happily pay £70 for a game, much more in some countries, due to greed. I say greed as I understand developers and publishers have been earning record profits before this price increase..

Re: Future Bethesda Games Could Still Come to PlayStation Despite Xbox Ownership

S1ayeR74

@Oz_Momotaro Firstly so how do you o ow how much they make from Game Pass? Did you just multiply the subscription cost by 15 million? That leaves out a LOT of variables I’d you did
Secondly Game Pass is not their only source of income.
And thirdly it’s business if they wish to charge Sony console owners full price, of course they will do that and that’s IF they decide to put those games on competitor platforms. They could even put DOOM on the Switch and ignore the PlayStation.
Sony is likewise buying up paid timed exclusives left and right, and they have done for ages. This is Xbox’s I have to say brilliant brutal reply to that action.

Re: Sony Considered Xbox Series S-Style PS5, Doesn't Think Lower Spec Models Have Had Success

S1ayeR74

@NEStalgia They could never match the Series S pricing, the PS5 costs too much to make, the only reason they have the PS5 digital at its price point is due to the inflated games prices, they know the majority who own that console will buy the games form their store, which you cannot return a game to once it’s been downloaded or streamed, once you buy it they have you. Now they can control any sales that occur and I bet hardly any PS5 digital games will be in sale for a while.
The PS5 was going to be priced higher, they have had to match the Series X, and now as you said they are purely in the defensive. Send them a message and buy second hand I say.

Re: Reaction: Why Hasn't PS5's Price and Release Date Been Revealed Yet?

S1ayeR74

@Royalblues Saying Game Pass is losing money, now it has over 10 million subscribers, is like saying Netflix is losing money, well they are all still in business. I’m getting the Series X, I don’t really play Sony exclusives, I like Uncharted but heard it won’t be made by Naughty Dog, and I didn’t like TLOU2 story, I don’t care much for the rest of the exclusives and I’ve played them all. I do like Gears Of War though and shooters and spend most of my time playing COD, so an Xbox makes more sense for ‘me’. I’ll be keeping an eye on the PS5 though, especially when the inevitable slim version arrives.

Re: Reaction: Why Hasn't PS5's Price and Release Date Been Revealed Yet?

S1ayeR74

@Royalblues Just to correct you, Apple is almost twice as valuable as Microsoft, and Amazon is also more valuable by a considerable amount. I’m not 100% certain but I believe Facebook and Google (Alphabet) are also more valuable.
Oh and Microsoft has said they are now turning a profit from Game Pass, that was from Phil Spencer, so no they are not losing money from it, it also creates a lot more gameplay time and people are buying games more after playing them on Game Pass. So it was a great idea that’s working for them which Sony so far have no answer for.

Re: Sony's PSVR Reveals This Week Aren't Proving Popular

S1ayeR74

@AdamNovice But that’s assuming all those people will sell their PS4’s? Why would they? I think it’s more likely people would buy a PS5 and then a Series S, because they want to play exclusives on both platforms and don’t own modern PC’s, in fact with more people working from home I’d take a guess the only PC they have is their works computer, and they won’t want to play games on it.

Re: Sony's PSVR Reveals This Week Aren't Proving Popular

S1ayeR74

@KleebanKliban Firstly Nope not trolling, you assume that as I’m discussing the Xbox.. secondly I did not say that, I said some people who buy PS5’s will get the XSS too, now you made the mistake of assuming they was to play multiplats, no it would be to play exclusives, it may shock you to know not everyone has a gaming PC and not everyone hates Xbox exclusives like you must?

Re: Sony's PSVR Reveals This Week Aren't Proving Popular

S1ayeR74

@KleebanKliban Sorry but away from Sony fan sites I’m afraid the talk IS all about Microsoft and Xbox all day long.. and many many many people looking to buy that Series S even as a second console to the PS5. Microsoft pulled a blinder today right under Sony’s nose.

Re: Sony's PSVR Reveals This Week Aren't Proving Popular

S1ayeR74

@ShogunRok Yes people forget the pandemic when Microsoft, a US company also, just like how PlayStation is based in the US now, has managed to do endless blow outs today, and using social media to reveal information.. it’s not difficult to do, Sony must be inept and incapable of following suite if your blaming the pandemic.. because it’s a hell of a lot worst in the US then Japan as far as I know.

Re: Sony's PSVR Reveals This Week Aren't Proving Popular

S1ayeR74

@AdamNovice And today???.... who’s trending more? The blinding next generation value Microsoft is offering today with complete blow outs and reveals? Or Sony’s PS4 VR games lol..... I personally do not think Sony can undercut Microsoft and will be facing a challenge.

Re: Sony's PSVR Reveals This Week Aren't Proving Popular

S1ayeR74

What did Sony expect? Playing chicken on purpose with Microsoft has cost them now.. they are losing consumer interest which is moving to Microsoft, because they have all the talk and attention due to pricing and pre-order reveals.
And Sony is spending the week showing VR games... Sony better undercut Microsoft (which I doubt they can do) to get that attention and interest back.
But with Sony even refusing point blank to even show the back of the PS5 off or the console itself physically.. this is what they deserve.. it is not very hard to take a video and post it on social media...
