Overall I was very impressed with the cooling design and how you can maintain it, they have thought about it being kept clean. And access is really good to the fan. With the Series X it’s restricted and a big box to collect dust and the only way to clean it is take it apart. To me this is a win for Sony.

@thefourfoldroot Of course it’s a software lock! The PS5 are built in the same X86 architecture as the Xbox One and Series X! It’s foolish to stare this is something to do with the SSD, Sony saying it’s up to the devs is an attempt to hide this fact. Or a lot of devs are incapable of working out how to do it, but I doubt that.

@sajoey RTX is an brand for Nvidias GPU cards, it has nothing to do with ray tracing.

@God_of_Nowt If that’s the case that’s very poor for a racing game, usually the easiest games to make run at 60FPS or faster, not really good if it can’t run at 4K 60FPS with ray tracing in 2020 on new hardware not in the market yet.

@thefourfoldroot No it’s not, that’s a bogus excuse, why would a dev of the same game make the saves work on one platform and not the other, when the hardware basis is exactly the same? In old and new gen machines.

This is kinda a joke to be honest, the Xbox works perfectly fine and it’s using the same hardware basis.. both old and new gen, but Sony can’t or won’t make cross saves work? It has nothing to do with the games and everything to do with Sony’s OS or something software related, this game launches what 2 weeks before the PS5 does yet the saves won’t transfer..

No mention of ray tracing?

Looks great but I think better to see actual gameplay. Also what res, FPS, ray tracing on or off etc.

@LiamCroft That’s great that we have an update on this, but also bad as this is from a developer and NOT Sony, who haven’t said a word on this at all. It’s more evidence of rumours being made simply due to a complete lack of facts or information from Sony, 40 odd days from launch! And even then in your story the developer seems to only discuss how there own game will work.

@JapaneseSonic Considering what else the Sony execs have said over the last year, which then turned out to be false or twisting of the truth.. I’ll believe it when I hear it with the PS5.

Well that’s just really poor, but is it on the devs or Sony if it’s true? But yeah some of these games people will have put hours and hours into and won’t want to start from scratch again.

@Flaming_Kaiser Firstly no I don’t only talk about ‘negative’ stuff, or have you only read comments on here? Secondly it’s not nonsense as others on here are repeating the same thing. Sony have never launched a console like this in such secret. And I have never known a game that launched in 6 or 7 weeks to not show any details of gameplay. Please do tell if you know of one.

@JustNeepz Please.. the SSD will NOT have any impact on the terraflop deficit between the Series X and PS5, why do you keep trying to argue as though it will? Raw power is what will drive the graphics, not a storage device. And Sonys console is designed to fluctuate its power so won’t constantly run at 10TF hence the 9TF figure, the Series X can continuously run at 12TF.

@JustNeepz No, a faster SSD will not close the gap in graphics performance. That’s a fact, it’s a storage device not a graphics processor. Third party games ran better on the Xbox One X and it will be the same with the Series X. And the TF in the new gen indicate higher performance then in the last gen devices.
Also the Series X is built better for 4K games hence the split memory, it’s more work to code for but yields better performance with 4K games. I can see it comfortably out performing the PS5, people won’t care about faster load times when the picture they are looking at looks better on one over the other.

The only reason the PSP sold that many is because it was easily hacked and you could run pirated games on it! That’s not a success, I think you’ll find that’s why it is said to have been a flop, because of the piracy that surrounds it. Game devs stopped supporting it due to its piracy.

And it was a failure until they changed it, if the PS4 didn’t succeed the PS3 was such a failure Sony would have closed its PlayStation department, go and look it up. Facts you deny...
And the PSP was a sales joke compared to its competition you know that Nintendo DS.. which sold over 154 million units, again facts you deny and many people questioned Sony making a second handheld due to this. The Vita only managed 16.2 million units sold, a total and utter a failure, and again if you bothered to read my comment properly, instead of seeing select words and trying to come up with a sarcastic arrogant response, you’ll see I stated it could have been great. You’d also see I quoted a selection of the consoles I own including a Vita, so you’ve only made yourself look a bit foolish with your reply.
Sonys arrogance nearly killed PlayStation, it remains to be seen if they have repeated that mistake with the PS5 because so far they are not doing a very good job.

@hi_drnick FYI PSP flopped in sales, PSVITA they dropped support for it very early when it could have been great and instead sold it as an accessory to your PS4.. also the PS3 flopped until they redesigned it and slashed its price, then it sold more, up to that point the Xbox 360 was outselling it regularly. And I have a launch PSP and I have a Vita and a PS3 slim and had a PS4 Fat, and had several Xbox 360’s.

@Adagiumx That Spiderman demo was on very early hardware, probably a PC, and it was a leak and was not meant for the public to see, so Sony did not ‘show’ that all as you were never meant to see it.

@kyethegr8t Great so you can make a gif, and no Sony has not done enough and neither has Microsoft, one hasn’t shown the console, the other hasn’t shown the games. So it’s obvious they will show more, seemingly from You Tuners it seems.

@Fenbops If it dose only run at 9TF most of the time then their will be a massive difference in performance compared to the Series X, the PS4 Pro is 4.2TF I believe, so a 3TF difference will be very noticeable. Not good.

@Eadgar Ah in that case you are right, they have shown Gears 5 running on the Series X which looked fantastic it had to be said, and Minecraft, also tech demos of both showing raytracing and HDR enhancements. It was in Austin Evans video from months ago! Since then there has been one game shown on the Series X, can’t even remember what it was but it wasn’t anything big or special. But they showed a gameplay demo reel for the Series S at its launch?
We know all about the Xbox console but next to nothing about the games, and we know mostly about the PS5 games but next to nothing about the console. Very strange indeed.

The biggest thing we don’t know is how loud it is! Would everyone be happy if you had another PS4 Pro in front of you? Forcing you to wear headphones or turn the TV volume to max just so you can play a game comfortably? I hate how loud my PS4 Pro is, and my launch PS4 was too loud too.. it does in fact put me off using my Pro, and no I’m not going to wear headphones to make up for Sony’s poor design choices.

@Eadgar @IronMike What exactly has Microsoft not shown off their console? Because they showed the UI and a few features if it and a terrine and the console running a quick game demo months ago. He’s they have lacked in game demos since, but it’s false to claim they have not shown the console, they’ve shown ALL the console now.

Add to that a console that you cannot see, basically Sony has totally and utterly failed to connect with Social Media for its marketing, Microsoft has been heavily embracing it for several months now and make Sony look very amateurish.
All we’ve basically had is Sony showing some game gameplay off and nothing else. And Microsoft showing the console off and no gameplay. Now I can understand the games not being ready due to Covid, but then does that mean the PS5 isn’t ready due to Covid too but is going to launch anyway? Yeah I can see that not ending well..

It’s one poor attempt to launch a game and a game console.All Sony have shown of the game is a CGI trailer. No one has a clue how it plays.

Rumours are their will be no more news until October 4th.. so 8 more days yet of absolutely nothing... you haven’t even see gameplay of Destruction Allstars, or even Sony actually show the damn console in real life and not some render! This is one crap launch by Sony, really poor and amateur hour stuff. And no Covid is not an excuse.

It’s drip feeding information purely for the sake of drip feeding it. Next they’ll show you the power on beeps, a week later the lights on the front. A week later the boot up screen....

FM is a massive franchise, it has some truly devoted fans! They will literally buy an Xbox then to play this game. My concern is if this game won’t come to PlayStation due to Sonys short sightedness what else won’t be coming to the PlayStation due to the same reason?

Sony has always loved its ‘remastered’ copies of existing games and that’s a fact, look at The Last Of Us 1... I don’t expect the PS5 gen to be any different, meanwhile Xbox will be offering free upgrades to previous games left right and centre..

Ok, firstly this is from a random You Tune channel, I wouldn’t believe a word they say, and secondly it’s also coming to PC! Well as has been said you’ll see all those ‘exclusives’ from Sony on PC just like from the Xbox, so the only true platform to get is a PC and play everything..

@Subsided Three years as stated by Jim Ryan and I doubt very much it’ll be limited to 3 games.. by the time Sony has proper PS5 exclusives out Microsoft will have had a years worth at least I’d proper Xbox Series exclusives out.

Secondly Game Pass is not their only source of income.
And thirdly it’s business if they wish to charge Sony console owners full price, of course they will do that and that’s IF they decide to put those games on competitor platforms. They could even put DOOM on the Switch and ignore the PlayStation.
Sony is likewise buying up paid timed exclusives left and right, and they have done for ages. This is Xbox’s I have to say brilliant brutal reply to that action.

You are the one constantly claiming the Series X will be held back so you can do the explaining, because the same logic applies to the PS5, all third party games are made in the exact same computers, the same dev teams, so come on enlighten us as to why you believe the Xbox will be held back.

I think we need to see the real gameplay differences for Sony to earn any respect here to be honest. Oh and show a teardown of the machine and how loud it is and show the UI too whilst they are at it!

Using your logic Sony will actually be worst then Microsoft, because Microsoft will support the Xbox One for 2 years where as Sony will be supporting the PS4 for 3 more years, that means cross gen games for 3 years on the PS5 holding it back all the way...
