Re: Could the Next Xbox Get a Head Start on PS6?

S1ayeR74

At this Moment I am really not sure if I care at all about next gen consoles. Switch 2 looks interesting, but I also like my Steam Deck OLED, I am going to check out the Legion Go 2 also so may stick with PC handhelds as I've found that area to be interesting. I'll see. I'll wait to see what they offer first but at present I'm not overly interested in the next Xbox. I have a lot more interest for the Switch 2 then that currently.

I can see all next gen consoles including the Switch 2 getting price bumps over last gen, which makes them less attractive to be honest, Sony lost their friggin mids with the PS5 Pro pricing, so I don't have much hope PS6 and next Xbox will be under 550, Switch 2 under 400 UK pounds.

Re: PSN Finally Back Online, But Some Problems Persist After Biggest Outage Since 2011

S1ayeR74

@Richy2025 No, servers do NOT ‘overload’, you are wrong, it takes a MAJOR entire network fault for this outage to happen, they also use Microsoft’s Azure network, and they had to block a massive ‘typhon’ attack over Christmas, and it’s very possible the same attackers went after Sony.

Sony also fired an undisclosed number of PlayStation staff in California this month, they didn’t publicised it though, so someone could have taken revenge. http://80.lv/articles/playstation-california-office-fires-an-undisclosed-number-of-employees/

My point is, it takes a major flaw or fault and I mean major to knock out a global network entirely for nearly 24 hours. A hack is at this time just as much a possibility as a major fault.

Re: PSN Down Worldwide as PS5, PS4 Players Can't Log In or Play Online

S1ayeR74

@KoopaTheGamer You’re kidding right? Every single time Sony has been hacked over the years, it took them ‘several’ days before informing anyone. And that included when its own staff personal details were stolen. If they have been hacked again, we will not be informed until mid next week probably. If it’s a technical fault I doubt VERY much Sony will tell anyone anything about it ever officially. That’s Sony.

Re: PSN Down Worldwide as PS5, PS4 Players Can't Log In or Play Online

S1ayeR74

So the entire PSN goes down, again, globally, for several hours on a weekend, and no one here seems to want to complain? Typical. PSN is by far the most unreliable online service of any console. And it has been running since the PS3.

Oh and naturally instead of the new PlayStation CEO shining and apologising and informing everyone what’s going on, the entire company as per usual keeps its mouth firmly shut, and doesn’t tell one of its millions of paying customers what is happening.

Re: Hermen Hulst No Longer PlayStation Co-CEO, Still in Charge of First-Party

S1ayeR74

@breakneck I never said it wasn’t a global console, that doesn’t change the fact it being run by Americans has damaged it. And Sony were stupid to put a man as obsessed with live service games as Ryan as joint CEO. Hopefully with a Japanese in charge it’ll change for the better. Nintendo used its strengths and roots and thrived, Sony has tried to change those and suffered.

Re: Hermen Hulst No Longer PlayStation Co-CEO, Still in Charge of First-Party

S1ayeR74

@nomither6 This! Doesn’t matter if they had a Brit running it again, although Ryan is useless IMO, moving the entire PlayStation operation to America, closing other offices globally, makes it an American company! If people wanted that they’ll buy an Xbox.
I hope this will turn the ship around for them. IMO they should move the PlayStation HQ back to Japan and lay off a load of staff and shrink the American office down. Go back to their routes.

Re: Hermen Hulst No Longer PlayStation Co-CEO, Still in Charge of First-Party

S1ayeR74

Sony have hit the panic button!
FINALLY they have found some common sense! Herman was as obsessed with the stupid ridiculous company killing live service game idea as Ryan was! They should fire him let alone demote him.

If they don’t take full control in Japan of PlayStation, reverse a LOT of what the American team have done, they are finished. Releasing a 700 dollar console you had to look to see the differences with wasn’t a genius idea, and with games costing so much they need to sell sell sell, not chase in app purchases.
PC and handheld gaming far exceeds Sonys market, and is growing exponentially.

Re: Horizon's MMO Appears to Have Been Cancelled

S1ayeR74

Christ what is this company doing? They have a decent console, good sales, and have totally f****d up their games strategy! Now with next to nothing coming out.. because of their live service obsession. I think it should be taken totally back under Japan's control and hell even move the PS HQ out of America. I won't be getting another PlayStation currently, not until the company sorts itself out.

They have wasted so much time with this crap, and now people will be laid off. All because of Sony themselves. Which means single player games will be pushed back even further. It's what Sony is known for. The studios are the ones thinking people need the most advanced graphics possible and spend 400 million on a game. Meanwhile Nintendo is doing low end graphics and selling millions literally more games and consoles!

Re: Unfazed by Concord, Sony Doubles Down on Exploring Service Games

S1ayeR74

@ChrisDeku I’ll take the word of reporters over a random person on the internet thanks, and no one with any intelligence, apart from most of the media. Pretty sure most of them are smarter than you. And again you’ve not proved anything. And you also cannot prove the impact Helldivers 2 has had over Concords loss on live service games.

Re: Unfazed by Concord, Sony Doubles Down on Exploring Service Games

S1ayeR74

@ChrisDeku God as I dared to mention the topic we shall not discuss. I’ll repeat. A 400 million dollar loss is NOT an irrelevance. No company would ever think like that, to have that 400 million they need to make 1.2 billion dollars in sales!

You now currently Microsoft are the ones making the single player games I want to play.. it’s only the fact they’ll probably come to PlayStation why I haven’t sold my PS5 for a Series X again yet. Indiana jones is brilliant and clearly shows you don’t need to do yet another third person over the shoulder game to make a great action adventure story.

Re: Unfazed by Concord, Sony Doubles Down on Exploring Service Games

S1ayeR74

@ChrisDeku As I said, serious mental gymnastics. Go and tell that to Sony's large share holders, I'm sure they'll see your opinion and how a total 400 million dollar loss, literally money thrown down the drain, isn't really that bad after all.........

The reality is they'll strip you alive, you'll be sacked and your reputation ruined in the industry.

Re: Naughty Dog's New PS5 Game Is Finally Announced, Sci-Fi Action Title Intergalactic

S1ayeR74

Product placement puts it off to a bad start. And I wonder how the story will play with Neil having so much power and a LOT of talent now having left the studio.

Bet it’ll be the usual third person action game from them. And it’ll be remastered at least five times!

I am…. cautious about this game. At this stage I’d be excited to see a new handheld from Sony with physical media, but I know any handheld they make will be digital only now.

Re: 74% of PS5 Fans Would Be Interested in a Handheld

S1ayeR74

So people want to pay the exact same price as the Steam Deck... for something that will be really locked down.

I think Sony will struggle against the Steam Deck and other PC handhelds and that's not including the Switch 2! Sony is incapable of having two teams with two devices, it proved that with the Vita! A system with so much potential relegated to a PS4 remote control. And they can't exactly done wonders with PS VR either.. another capable device left in the cold, stupidly priced too though.

Re: Talking Point: Would You Want a Steam Deck-Like Portable PlayStation?

S1ayeR74

I would have zero interest in this. None. It would be a total waste of time. I have my OG PSP still and it still works, it was a fantastic device because Sony and devs supported it. Then we got the Vita, and it lasted what 2 years before Sony ditched its support and turned it into a PS4 remote control…

It became obvious then that Sony do NOT have the ability or staff to maintain different dedicated devices, the Portal succeeds because it IS a remote control, and to Sonys shock no doubt is successful.

But even Nintendo discovered it couldn’t handle a home console and handheld console at the same time, hence ditching the formula and combining them into two and merging all their teams together.

Nintendo dominates the handheld the space, then we have the new PC handheld players in town, and let’s be honest Valve is a hell of a lot more consumer focussed then Nintendo or Sony are, but they’ve launched a device that’s thinking outside the box and has gained huge community support and has sold in very good numbers as a result and they are committed to compete in the handheld market going forward.

All Sony will be doing is releasing a handheld that most likely runs PS5 or 6 games natively with poorer graphics, what Microsoft has done with Series S, and as a result it’ll hold back game development too, as Microsoft has done.

It just sounds like a boring edition to Sonys lineup that will sell poorly and no doubt be priced massively for what it offers.
I think Sony and Microsoft will be in for a shock and a hard battle if they launch new devices into the handheld games market. And that’s ignoring the fact any phone or tablet can remotely play or cloud play their games anyway.

I have a Steam Deck OLED, it isn’t perfect, but it’s more than enough to keep me away from a Sony handheld. The only handheld I’d be interested in is a Switch 2, and if Sony charges £600 or more for the standard PS6 it might be my ONLY console too if it gets the third party support…
