@totneschap Yes, I was hoping for ps1/2 emulation too. It's just such a hassle keeping all these older consoles under the telly, especially as I haven't got place for them all!
I've only lived in Devon for a couple of years now and absolutely love it
@beavis64 @totneschap "No kidding I quite enjoy playing retro games and although I'd prefer to play ps1/2 games, 360/one games are a good second option."
@totneschap Nice seeing some other folk from Devon on here
I don't see why people are getting so agitated about receiving news from Sony's main competitor. It's like reporting on a football match and then just talking about one team whilst completely ignoring the other.
@naruball Of course games are important, but the vast majority can be played on either console. I'm not a big fan of Sony's exclusive games so that's out of the equation for me.
@Quintumply I like a good diddlywip or a proper hootytoot though!
In all seriousness, I'm quite excited about this. I don't care that much about graphical prowess, but I'm looking forward to hearing things about load times, bc, seeing the design, and whatnot.
@glenny3214 Ah yes, you're right about that. That's fine with me though, I thought the previous gen wasn't that interesting anyway, so PS2 and PS1 bc would be sufficient for me
To me it looks as if they're getting a bit complacent. Yes, they built up a massive lead this gen, but Microsoft is building quite a bit of momentum - they are even getting me excited, which I didn't think would happen again after the disastrous Xbox One start. Two things that will make me definitely buy a ps5: full backwards compatability 2: exclusive deal for the konami franchises that was touched upon yesterday.
Sounds really impressive I have to say. The backwards compatibility is something that I find very enticing as well and I don't care about exclusives as long as a system has got the games I find interesting - a lot of ps4 exclusives I can live without. The game is quite open to me, as you can only kid yourself with brand loyalty!
Castlevania and Silent Hill are two of my favourite franchises so it would be great to see some new chapters being made, but I'll believe it when I see it.
@kyleforrester87 Yeah, probably not or maybe right near the end as @RedMan33 said. Still, I'll probably buy it somewhere down the line anyway as I enjoyed the original one a lot and I'd like to see what they've done with it.
That would be nice! Not sure about the game as I thought Mr X was the most annoying element of RE2, and this game supposedly is all about a similar enemy, so hopefully the demo can prove me wrong.
@Gmork___ That'd be grand! Imagine walking around Mars in Doom 3 with Nile on the background? I mean, the score of Doom 16 was alright, but I do think it was a bit tame.
@TheInfantFinite If you like your black metal I can suggest Asagraum who are an excellent female three piece.
I bought Two Point Hospital as well and I'm having a blast. Pc-to-console conserions don't always work well (I'm looking at you, XCOM2), but this works as smooth as butter and very intuitively. Chuffed it's selling well.
I remember being a bit disappointed about the stern review of Medan here, still decided to play it, and then thought the review was actually quite mild! Unless this will be significantly better, I'll skip it.
Right, I took the (PSplus) plunge a couple a months ago as it was just 30 quid at the time, and so far all interesting games were ones I already had. Don't get me wrong, Shadow of the Colossus is one of my favourite games this generation, but for me it's like a lottery gone horribly wrong!
@wiiware I don't mean to be pedantic but DOOM has never featured doom metal music.
Being a bit of a metalhead, I thought the music of DOOM 2016 was a bit tame. They should have really gone for it by contracting Anaal Nathrakh or a similar band.
I hadn't thought it would happen but this is actually making me quite excited about Xbox again. I went from PS2 to X360 to PS4, so I might make the switch again if Sony doesn't come up with the goods!
Morgue patients are asked to be as quiet as possible!
Looking forward to playing this either on ps4 or switch. Was dreading a terrible performance, but happy to read that that seems to be in order (although I don't have a ps Pro). Are the loading times also manageable?
@verynaughtyboy I played it once, although I did finish it. It's been a while, but I think the combat was the thing that kept me going as well. The platforming bits and the 'edgy' persona of the prince himself were what put me off I think.

Give me a worthy Silent Hill reboot and I might reconsider.

Did I hear correctly that you need to install these additional cards internly?

@DanM That's actually a really good tip that I'm going to try out. Thanks!
Re: Microsoft Responds to PS5 Deep Dive with Confidence in 2020 Launch for Xbox Series X
@David187 I'm just saying it sounded rather harsh Good point re Spencer though, this gen was a massive cockup for them.

@David187 There there, no need to get vicious, they were only making a joke.
Re: PS5's Backwards Compatibility with PS4 Has Fans Baffled
This is quite a big deal for me, so against all odds I'm actually leaning towards Microsoft now, as this has written ambiguity all over it.

Re: PS5 Comes with 825GB of Internal Storage on SSD
It's a bit sad that in this aspect it means I would be going backwards from this generation.
Re: PS5 Backwards Compatibility Will Support 'Almost' All PS4 Games
Xbox has positioned itself as a frontrunner for me at the moment. How unexpected!
Re: Round Up: What Was Announced During Sony's PS5 Deep Dive Reveal?

Zwolle! Boeren! Good to know, I was looking forward to Christmas and it wouldn't be the same without a new shiny console onder the telly.

Goodness, so it's even better than DOOM 2016 (i.e. the previous best FPS of this generation)?
Re: PS5 Deep Dive Announced for Tomorrow, System Architecture and Games

Two Point Hospital for me. There’s a fire. There shouldn’t be a fire.

Re: After Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red Is Probably Making a New Witcher Game
I really hope they'll improve the gameplay a bit. World-building and script were fantastic, but I can't get into the clunky gameplay anymore.

@get2sammyb That's certainly not too bad.
By the way, you can preorder the game at base.com for just £27.
