Re: Oddworld: Soulstorm (PS5) - A Tough Game to Love

Warruz

As others have mentioned, I have not experienced any of the bugs, although there is certainly a thing or two that can be finiky. So far, I am enjoying this much more than I did with New N' Tasty, likely because its not a 1 to 1 remake, but rather a reimagining.

Perhaps my only main issue with this game is the crafting, simply because it can be easy to use certain materials earlier and not know you need them later where it was far more optional initially.

Re: Review: BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle (PS4)

Warruz

@ShogunRok Obviously everyone has a different opinion, but I don't see copies of characters and their movesets as an inherently bad thing. Fighting games have been doing this for ages, and a character doesn't always need to be changed to make it enjoyable or worth another dip in much the same way a remaster doesn't need to change the base mechanics to be good. Sometimes a new coat of paint, an expanded version, and being on a modern platform is all that is needed.

Re: Poll: Will You Be Buying a PS4 Pro?

Warruz

Owning a PS4 currently, the best time I wager to purchase a pro will be a launch, as that will be the time that I will be able to get the most money from my original PS4 (Slim is $299, so figure at least $200 for original)

Re: Review: Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness (PS4)

Warruz

@Utena-mobile It's not Bad so much as its not as good as Season 1. Its still good, but in comparison to season 1, not so much. The Movie is your standard anime affair, you can take it or leave it, it just depends on how much you want to see Akane be a bad ass (the English is cringe-worthy though).

Anyway, this will be a Vita Buy for me; Psycho-Pass is one of the better anime's out there by a mile.

Re: Soapbox: Let's Be Honest, E3 2016 Was Disappointing

Warruz

I agree that E3 as a whole was a disappointment, many of the things shown at E3 were already known about at least year's E3 and simply got more gameplay and a release date. That's not to say there weren't a few surprises like RE 7 and Zelda, but generally speaking, this E3 was basically "We are in a transition period again until 2017".

Re: Talking Point: Are Indie Devs Bringing Back the Budget Boxed Game?

Warruz

Regardless of where we are headed, as of now, there is value in having a physical product as it serves as a signal of legitimacy (not true for PC however). The titles getting physical releases like this all tend to fall on the more popular or well known side, and are using a physical release to signal that they have grown to a certain statute. There is also the added benefit in having a physical copy can now have you listed on most online stores (not all sell codes and even if they do, not for everything).

Re: Rumour: Sony's Building a Supercharged PS4 Console

Warruz

@WanderingBullet Right, but if the new game plan now is to take to an Iphone approach (albeit more spread out), then 4k support, even if not used by games, would be a good step to take. I just wonder who got it in their head to just go RIGHT to 4k, and not take more incremental steps like PC and go to 2k.

Re: Street Fighter V Seems to Have Flopped Pretty Freakin' Hard

Warruz

@sub12 Their value is upfront is ever shrinking, there are actually several scenarios were it would be more beneficial to have less sales upfront to gain more sales throughout. Most center around keeping a consistent interest rather then a spike at the front that eventually dies out, Halo 5 I would argue does this wonderfully and is a good example. While its single player was "meh", its game mechanics were stellar, and over the past months has continued to add new modes, maps etc. This has kept a continued interest and thus more potential for REQ pack purchases. However by providing everything or large enough content upfront, what you end up with is that big spike, but a much lower places in terms of where sales even out to, resulting in less potential for DLC purchases, because if people are done with the game, there is no potential purchase from them.

This same idea can very easily be applied to Street Fighter V and most likely is with this release state.

Re: Street Fighter V Seems to Have Flopped Pretty Freakin' Hard

Warruz

@sub12 Thats my point, its initial sales matter less as its design is on making a platform and less of a single game. Just look at Smash Bros. or Killer Instinct's design, they have devalued very little over the course of their existence for this very reason. They don't need high sales up front, they need continues sales throughout.

Re: Street Fighter V Seems to Have Flopped Pretty Freakin' Hard

Warruz

It won't effect Capcom in the long run, this is not a game that is designed to be a one and done, with Super Street Fighter V on the horizon, its value will hold unlike previous iterations. Welcome to the long form sales platform that has been working on PC for years, release sales don't mean nearly as much as they used to.

Re: Talking Point: Would You Upgrade to a Supercharged PS4?

Warruz

@arnoldlayne83 Only 2 games are exclusive to the N3DS, MANY games take advantage of its improved specs. Its really no different then your new Phone you get (most likely) every 2 years, it plays old stuff better, a handful of new stuff only available to it, but largely those in the previous version are left out of very few things. At some point it will reach where you need to upgrade to play nearly anything. Really the difference is instead of hard lines, they would be a bit blurrier now.

Re: Talking Point: Would You Upgrade to a Supercharged PS4?

Warruz

Xbox will most likely be going initially the Nintendo route I imagine, with a sort of New Xbox One for lack of a better term. Simply put, last console generation was an anomaly, and this generation is already based in out dated parts and won't last nearly as long as previous hardware did. I imagine it would go:

Xbox One
New Xbox One 3-4 years later
Xbox Two

Where the New Xbox One plays Xbox One games at better FPS/Resolution etc. Really, all Phil is hinting towards is less distinct console generations and a tiering model with consoles. It actually if anything would add value to those who buy the original and wait because it will extent the originals life far farther then it would currently.

Re: Review: Assassin's Creed Syndicate: Jack the Ripper (PS4)

Warruz

I do wonder where the main series is going next, as the chronicles side games filled in my previous predictions with India during its Independence and Russia during the end of the Czars. Perhaps it will in fact be Austria next with the end being you killing Francis Ferdinand with him being a influential Templar but the obvious consequence of plunging the world into WW1

Re: Assassin's Creed Chronicles Eagle Dives onto PS Vita

Warruz

@sub12 Its a luxury for the very reason you described. One does not buy a Vita to play its exclusives (because it has next to none), you buy a Vita to play games already available on other platforms in a handheld format. If you own others platforms, a Vita is not really needed, but if you want to play it portable then the Vita is there, hence why I say its a luxury console.

Re: Assassin's Creed Chronicles Eagle Dives onto PS Vita

Warruz

@hYdeks The Vita has no exclusive games should really be the mantra. The Vita does in fact have a ton of games, the problem is most of them are available elsewhere, so why buy a Vita for them?

I always explain the Vita as a luxury console, because the real reason to buy one is to play said games on the go, not to gain access to more games.

Re: World of Final Fantasy Looks Super Pretty in New PS4 Screenshots

Warruz

@FullbringIchigo I wouldn't go that far, its just Square is being cautious. These types of games, their more obscure and Japanese oriented, won't come to Xbox due to little to no Japanese adoption rate which is where these types of games will thrive. Square's Big titles do well world wide so no reason to not put it on their.

Re: First Impressions: Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection Is PS4 Gold

Warruz

For the improvements that came with God of War 3 Remastered it was a complete failure (to me atleast) by not importing my save from my PS3. If I am going to play it again, I would like to at least play it on a harder difficulty(much like I did with MCC).

The real question with this one for me is, does it add enough to justify that price tag? I own all the Uncharted games, however I have yet to dive into the third one. Was considering snagging this to play the final entry at the best of the best, but is it worth it for $60? Feel like I should just wait until it drops in price.
