It is quite sad to see the industry coming to a halt like this. But I think we all have more than enough games on our backlogs than we can deal with. It's a good time to go back and play some games we missed or hell, replay some others. Not that my life has been impacted much by the quarantine so far, but I've found myself replaying some of my favorite games and enjoying them a lot. Replaying your favorite games is underrated.
We are finally given the chance to put "Endure and Survive" to practice.
yeah, bring it on Playstation. Beast is awake. I personally think Ghost of Tsushima is quite a self-explanatory game. But a deep dive is always appreciated. Can't wait to see more of Ghost in action. Other companies/publishers should learn. Playstation doesn't let people down. We're gonna finally see some real gameplay. Awesome.
Good to know that we have Jesper Kyd on board. Also, Sarah Schachner's OST on Origins was one of the best parts of the game. This combination should bring out some epic tracks. Now, all we need is a deep dive into the gameplay.
I love Days Gone, and seeing how it isn't discussed enough in major gaming communities pisses me off. It's one of those games that aks you to trust it and investment time before actually feeding you what it really has to offer. And to me, that's one of the best things in the world. I loved Days Gone since that first trailer... I will always love it.
I'm glad that you wrote this piece on Days Gone... It's a game we all need to appreciate more.
I'm among one of those unfortunate people who never got to experience the original (I actually neglected playing it when the remake was announced because I had the mentality that the Remake would do).
I always knew this game had something special in it, and could never wrap my head around it.
Having played and finished the Remake already (chewing through the game for 3 entire days non-stop) I have to say that I'm absolutely in love with everything about it. It's easily one of the best things I've ever played.
I will certainly pick up the original game, I don't want to miss out on it anymore. I'm done.
I'm personally very pissed but my individual feelings are not what's at stake right now. As much as I hate this delay and am disappointed, I understand that the world is going through dark times now.
Number one thing is that everybody stays safe and we all get through this sh*t, so we can celebrate it with some great games.
I gotta say I'm not impressed. I am rarely impressed by multiplayer games, and the main factor for that is innovation. I'm not seeing any REAL reason why I should switch from Overwatch/COD: MW to this. Guess not my cup of tea...
I'm a pretty big fan of Playstation, have always been. I grew up on this, man. So let me say this and personally move on. The game's a few years old, I played it when it came out, I replayed again and again. Now if some others get to play it? sure, why the hell not. But all I want is for PS5 to have its exclusives, cuz I want to have more reasons for buying a supposedly 500$+ console than solely being a fan of its brand. P.S. I'm still gonna buy a PS5
It's really amazing but I have a small problem with it... my game keeps saying that I'm offline, while I'm clearly Online. I don't know if it's just me or not... nevertheless, it's an amazing work of art.
Despite how much I hate EA and their policies and the way they make games... it's really sad to see a game die out little by little. All I can think of are the poor people who worked on this game with their hopes and dreams in their heads only for it all to be shattered in the end by the greed that chokes their bosses.
@Shirayuki I try to justify Online Play needing payment on consoles. At least on PS4. Steam, as you may know already, has very poor anti-cheating systems. And it's not their fault. It's a PC, it's open-source and people always find a way to go around the anti-cheating systems. But on PS4, at least in my experience, there have been no cheaters trying to ruin online games. To be honest, that alone is enough for me to be convinced that I'm getting something worthwhile in return. (Although there are F2P games, as others mentioned, that don't need PS plus and probably don't have cheaters either lol)
@Darthrau Yes, I think that's where I couldn't agree with you more. Everyone needs to be heard but not in the obvious way that some creators are making them heard. What is that saying? there's a time and place for everything? I guess most of those who force such things into their narrative isn't familiar with that...
@Undeadlogan Well if you really think a camera angle can take away the repetitiveness of a game, I guess it would serve everyone if COD would switch to the Third Person view. Because that isn't repetitive.
@Darthrau I think you have a fair point about the shows and Disney, Netflix and etc. But I have to disagree with what you say about Naughty Dog. And let me say this before I go any further, I like Disney and Netflix and enjoy their contents. With that said, they are big companies that are trying to profit from what they do. Perhaps the quality or the 'artistic' aspect concerns them a little bit lesser than Naughty Dog and other devs. It's not pushing LGBTQ+ into people's minds and 'forcing' them to be someone else. I'm not sure if anyone would suddenly become a lesbian by playing The Last of Us Part II, it might have an influence on how they see lesbian relationships... but hardly changing their sexuality. And while I agree that children should be left children and enjoy their childhood before being plunged into adulthood and take a hundred different decisions about themselves and the world around them... being aware of what the world looks like is essential in their education. LGBTQ+ is real and a lot of people have biased views against them. I agree that it shouldn't be forced into the story and narrative, but I don't see how Ellie's case is forced. I have no idea what led Niel Druckmann to take such a decision... what inspired him but I'm sure he has good reasons.
@Undeadlogan Aw, that hurts! Why you gotta be like that. I'm just pointing out the facts. No one's stuck in the past, I said it a few times too. I don't have a problem with the new camera. It's just that I understand why some fans wouldn't prefer it. And I think that understanding is what you lack here, friend. No one's fighting here.
@FullbringIchigo @Undeadlogan Camera angles are important to conveying the narrative and being impactful on the player. Which is something RE has been doing since the beginning, while I don't really have a problem with RE7 going FPS or, 8 at this point, I do believe that it would serve the franchise better if they kept the 3rd person camera, especially as it's proved by the new remakes. I get it that the franchise is moving forward and I'm fine with that, but the problem is, most of RE fans (like myself) grew up on the older games (up to Biohazard 4) and just simply love the characters. What would be the point of playing a RE game with Leon, but in First Person? So even if @BearsEatBeets and @FullbringIchigo were losing their minds, I would understand why. It's not "just" a camera angle. It plays into all of the elements of the game.
I like the gameplay loop of the new Call of Duty, this was my first COD experience since World at War. The multiplayer is really fun to play especially with friends BUT living where I do with a download speed that takes me a whole day to download the updates has ruined the experience for me. At first I downloaded the main game, which is 100GB or so and didn't know that I had to install SP and Online + a few more packages separately. I'm nagging, I'm genuinely curious to know why such a decision was made? why tear the game apart this bad and make things confusing? And this new update is just the worst. I just went right back into playing God of War again.
Having seen the full footage now has me less worried about the gameplay. Graphically it looks good. Nothing to complain. But then again, I generally don't have problems with graphics. I understand that each generation has a certain standard for visuals, but since I'm constantly moving between generations I simply can't complain about the graphics because all I care about is the overall experience.
This looks like a solid game, at least in the trailer. And given that it is early footage and one from 2019, I'm expecting it to look even better on final build.
My expectation for this game is to give us a nice coop experience with standard, if not extraordinary, melee combat scenarios. But I hardly think this game can compete with Elden Ring at this point...
@DonJorginho I get the feeling they're trying to achieve something stylized realistic cartoonish(?) with the graphics and how it looks. You know, something like Overwatch but more realistic than cartoonish. Hard to say, to be honest, there isn't much shown.
I personally like the setting of this game, what I fear though is for the combat mechanics. We've had amazing melee combats the past few years and I wouldn't settle for anything but perfect. (Looking at Ubisoft and AC Odyssey)
@kyleforrester87 Agreed, this particular one looks quite awkward. And also, again, I think this one wouldn't be able to stand vertically, which is a problem for consoles. I mean I've said this before but Series X stands both ways, PS5 removing the feature seems kinda odd.
@schotman11 I haven't seen the one in Dreams yet, but I'm quite sure even that hardly comes close to the real design.
Because the designers who make these models only see the visuals while the developers actually have to deal with internal design too. Those boards, fans and disk trays need correct placement and have to fit into the case in a way that they use all the space efficiently, I guess? add cooling system and venting, etc... to that.
Designing consoles is pretty complex and needs a lot of going back and forth. But it's cool to see other people's takes on it.
I really like the fact that people are so excited about this system that they simply cannot stop themselves from speculating and enthusiastically producing content that probably no one gives a crap about and they gain nothing from them. Playstation 5 is, like all the other systems a major milestone in the family and seeing all this passion that surrounds it is just amazing. I don't like any of these fan-designs, but I appreciate them nevertheless.
I think the matter isn't something that we can discuss through a poll, even though I cast my vote already. It won't affect my purchase, Playstation feels like home and it's much easier to play on rather than a PC. HOWEVER, I rather have my exclusives. It won't affect my PS5 purchase, but the question is, if I'm able to play the same games on PC, with the same performance using a Dual Shock... what else is going to bring me back to Playstation 6? I might just as well build up a gaming rig. In any case, I highly doubt it and if it becomes true, I'll be disappointed. Playstation is better than to search for market on PC...
What's next? Kojima working with Epic on Fortnite 2? I'm slightly mad to just read this title. This is ridiculous. I don't care that it's not a flagship title anymore. Be it 4 years or 40 years, exclusives stay exclusives.
I simply cannot wait to see the sequel but to be honest, I'm expecting The Last of Us Part II quality in the sequel. As much as I love to see Kratos and Atreus return with that gripping combat (pun intended), I don't want them to be repeating what they did good on this one, rather AGAIN try new ideas and move the series forward like The Last of Us Part II does.
Other than that, a new IP is always welcome. Perhaps even more than sequels.
To see one of my childhood terrors and the main subject of my nightmares rendered in new texture is sure exciting. Even more exciting than that is seeing my first gaming crush ever rendered in those graphics
@Nakatomi_Uk To be fair, Assassin's Creed's modern storyline ended with AC3 and Connor. The new one (Leila was it?) isn't even half as interesting as Desmond's. Back then the modern storyline wasn't about some futuristic cyberpunk-ish story of Assassin's fighting Abstergo (An evil corporation) for control and power and knowledge, it was literally about saving the world and mankind which made Desmond's story so interesting. All the visions he saw from the First Civilization and Pieces of Eden, which true... had corrupting powers, were really relevant to the story. Desmond ran away from Abstergo and fought them, but his true fight wasn't with Abstergo, it was with the Apocalypse, something he was going to prevent and he DID give his life for that purpose. After AC3 they should've just put aside the modern-day era OR make an entirely modern AC (probably would be something like Watch Dogs)
I think people are just nitpicking for nothing. What do they expect? something revolutionary and completely new? If it's not broken, don't fix it. I never would've guessed that the logo would be a topic of discussion this much lol
I'm just wondering if all of this is going to affect the price and raise it drastically because SSD hard drives aren't exactly cheap and if they are going for high-end hardware, I think we should expect a higher price than the usual 399-499$.
In any case, I will definitely be upgrading. Never regretted buying any Playstation console. The imaginary line-up we already have (Next God of War and Horizon) is intriguing enough if you ask me, let alone the rest of the Sony Studios.
Also, the next generation is going to be handled with love and care coming from Hermen Hulst. Knowing how passionate he is about his job, I personally expect a double the quality we had this generation (and this generation is still unmatched in terms of game quality and overall experiences)
All in all, I'm pretty hyped to see the Ninth Generation. Here's hoping for a generation filled with joy and awesome games (possibly less platform wars lol)
it sure looks better than the dev kit, but then again, most consoles hardly resemble the dev kit. It looks "okay", I think? but after the jaw-dropping design of PS4 I expect perfection from Playstation.
Besides, the real one would hardly look anything like this, consoles are mostly both horizontal and vertical. The Xbox SX is, I would like to have the option.
@GamingFan4Lyf although I agree with most of what you say about the process, I think we're not in the same boat with the last part. Obviously the possibility is there, but the experience and the feelings would be different.
Personally, I rather game studios just stick to what they're good at with all the freedom they have in the interactive medium than making adaptations of their own stories. I'd go as far as saying it would be wasted effort to make the exact same story.
But overall, I agree with the technology being good enough. Death Stranding, in a way, really proves that.
Happy happy happy happy new year, everyone. I wish you all a year filled with games and many many joyful moments. I'm usually not this optimistic and positive, but it's just coming out this way, so I'll have at it while it lasts. Great start.
Congratulations to KJP. Glad to see Death Stranding doing well. It definitely deserves all this. Hoping for the best for next year. I'm really curious to know what next has Kojima-san in store for us.
Well, I'd suggest emulating PS4 on their Master Race rigs, and play these games with 900 frames per second. But oh wait, most of their rigs can hardly handle 30fps on normal third-party games.
PC gamers always act like they have the best platform, why aren't they satisfied with it then? I mean it's not that hard to just buy a damn console, have the PC and enjoy it all.
They just gotta b!tch about something.
Oh, already submitted. This is a great idea. I wish the community could've had a small thing like this every month. I'm loving everything I'm seeing there in the community. Great content by great people. So wholesome. I love it taking screenshots and I love sharing them. Awesome to see others enjoying games.
Yes, definitely Death Stranding. I'm probably repeating myself here but Death Stranding has always seemed something special to me. Even when the trailers were vague and no one had any idea what the game was going to be, it instantly grabbed me. Perhaps it was because of its huge Sci-Fi themes and visuals or perhaps the name of Hideo Kojima was the reason. In any case, Death Stranding is a completely new game, nothing like it. And only now I can see that this very particular aspect of it is off-putting perhaps. There's no shame in disliking it, but I urge people to not listen to the negative opinions that surround this game and try it out for themselves. These past few weeks I've seen too many people saying that they were wrong about it and now are loving the experience. Death Stranding isn't a game that you can read a review and judge whether you will like it or not. It's a game that you need to experience for yourself. If you can, do yourself a favor, and pick the game up. I wish it had a demo so that everyone could at least get a taste of, I'm sure the sales would've been much higher and a whole lot of more people could enjoy it. :like:
I remember I drove my dad crazy to pick me up a PS One, and it was really late when he actually did grab me one, it was around the time when PS2 was new. So obviously I was a generation behind everybody else, and it sort of felt bad that everyone was talking about all these games I couldn't play but it didn't stop me from enjoying my time with my PS One and besides... I was only six years old at most. I remember playing these amazing games like Crash, Medal of Honor, Driver 1 and 2, Syphon Filter 1,2,3, All the Biohazard games and Dino Crisis. Yeah... they didn't just make good memories. They changed my life for good. I always say this, I'm greatly indebted by video games and especially Playstation family and I'll pay my debts to them one day by making games in return. What goes around comes around. Happy 25th anniversary to the world's best home console.
@andreoni79 Totally agreed. It's great to see creators with different mindsets going after new forms of entertainment. Obviously, these new experimental games won't be as successful as others, at least not financially, but they keep the creative spirit of video games alive. This reminds me of George Lucas who always looked to make new forms of movies and experiment with them, even if it meant failing. Great times indeed.
Oh it looks really nice, I like the feelings in this one. I'm not Christian and I don't live in a country where the majority of the people celebrate Christmas but I personally like getting in the vibe. XD
Happy birthday to the loveliest home console in history. My whole life is sort of entangled with Playstation. Had my father never bought me a PS1, I would never have become the gamer I am now. I'm very proud of that... perhaps it allows me to fill in the gaps in my real life. The feeling that I am something and I belong somewhere. It's all these feelings that brought me here and made me shift my views on video games as entertainment. No more simply a pastime. It's far greater than that. I find meaning in games and I have Playstation to thank for that. I always loved and will always keep on loving Playstation. <3

Re: PS5 Fans Are Having Fun Imagining the Console's Box Art
Nice designs, I like them.
I'm very curious to see what the next Horizon game is called, so I can finally stop calling it "the next Horizon"
Re: New Resident Evil 3 Trailer Equips Nemesis with a Flamethrower
To see one of my childhood terrors and the main subject of my nightmares rendered in new texture is sure exciting. Even more exciting than that is seeing my first gaming crush ever rendered in those graphics
Re: Reliable Source Rips Up Recent Assassin's Creed Ragnarok Rumours
Re: Sony Explains PS5 Logo's Similarities to PS4
I think people are just nitpicking for nothing. What do they expect? something revolutionary and completely new? If it's not broken, don't fix it.
I never would've guessed that the logo would be a topic of discussion this much lol
Re: Sony Reiterates PS5 Features at CES 2020 Press Conference
Re: Fanmade PS5 Design Is Our Favourite So Far
it sure looks better than the dev kit, but then again, most consoles hardly resemble the dev kit. It looks "okay", I think? but after the jaw-dropping design of PS4 I expect perfection from Playstation.
Besides, the real one would hardly look anything like this, consoles are mostly both horizontal and vertical. The Xbox SX is, I would like to have the option.
Re: Soapbox: The Witcher 3's Post-Netflix Resurgence Proves There's Untapped Cross-Media Potential in Games
Re: Happy New Year from the Push Square Team
Happy happy happy happy new year, everyone.
I wish you all a year filled with games and many many joyful moments.
I'm usually not this optimistic and positive, but it's just coming out this way, so I'll have at it while it lasts. Great start.
Re: We Wish You a Very Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas everyone
Re: Death Stranding Dominates PlayStation Blog Awards with Game of the Year Victory
Congratulations to KJP. Glad to see Death Stranding doing well.
It definitely deserves all this.
Hoping for the best for next year. I'm really curious to know what next has Kojima-san in store for us.
Re: PS4 Exclusive Ghost of Tsushima's New Trailer Is Even Better in Japanese
I like both dubs, the English sounds pretty good, I'm probably going with the English dub for my first playthrough.
Re: Looks Like PC Players Really, Really Want to Play Ghost of Tsushima
Well, I'd suggest emulating PS4 on their Master Race rigs, and play these games with 900 frames per second. But oh wait, most of their rigs can hardly handle 30fps on normal third-party games.
PC gamers always act like they have the best platform, why aren't they satisfied with it then? I mean it's not that hard to just buy a damn console, have the PC and enjoy it all.
They just gotta b!tch about something.
Re: Untitled Goose Game Waddles Onto PS4 Next Week
Had so many good laughs with this one. It's a great fun experience.
Re: Resident Evil 3 Screenshots Look Terrifyingly Incredible
Uh yeah, Jill looks good in this. Not that I remember how she looked on PS One... but she's good.
Can't wait for this one
Re: Site News: Share Your Best PS4 Screenshots in Push Square's Community Competition
Oh, already submitted. This is a great idea. I wish the community could've had a small thing like this every month.
I'm loving everything I'm seeing there in the community. Great content by great people. So wholesome.
I love it taking screenshots and I love sharing them. Awesome to see others enjoying games.
Re: Feature: The Game Awards 2019 Predictions - 10 Announcements We're Expecting
I would love to see Elden Ring, so much love for FromSoft.
Re: Game of the Month: Best PS4 Games of November 2019

Re: Feature: As PlayStation Turns 25, We Share Our Fondest PSone Memories
Re: Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey - Too Much Monkeying Around in This Ambitious Survival Sim
@andreoni79 Totally agreed.
Re: Sony's Sending Out a Cosy Dynamic Christmas Theme to PS4 Players in Europe
Oh it looks really nice, I like the feelings in this one. I'm not Christian and I don't live in a country where the majority of the people celebrate Christmas but I personally like getting in the vibe. XD
Re: Random: Developers Across the Globe Celebrate 25 Years of PlayStation
Happy birthday to the loveliest home console in history.
My whole life is sort of entangled with Playstation. Had my father never bought me a PS1, I would never have become the gamer I am now.
I'm very proud of that... perhaps it allows me to fill in the gaps in my real life. The feeling that I am something and I belong somewhere.
It's all these feelings that brought me here and made me shift my views on video games as entertainment. No more simply a pastime. It's far greater than that. I find meaning in games and I have Playstation to thank for that.
I always loved and will always keep on loving Playstation. <3
