Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Developer Denounces Death Threats After Delay

XOF

@wiiware I actually don't think THAT many people are toxic, however, that doesn't mean their numbers are low. I think these a-holes are a bunch of loud-mouthed minority that start to lash out at everything and everyone.
I fully understand the frustration of waiting all these years for a video game to come out and instead it's getting pushed back constantly. But sending death threats is just too far. It's pathetic and puts the dev under unnecessary pressure.

I want the game to be out asap. But if CDPR isn't confident in the performances, they SHOULD delay it. Even after December. I'd rather play a smooth 30FPS game on my base PS4 later than a crappy performance in November. I have faith in CDPR and have been a long time fan. This game is gonna be fire when it comes out.

Re: Leaked Cyberpunk 2077 Map Reveals the Whole of Night City

XOF

@710King in the recent Night City Wire episode, they talked about the verticality of the map and how it's multilayered. I'm hoping for more than a handful of explorable buildings as there are many mega-complexes on the map. Probably a lot of them will be used for the story missions.

Re: Gallery: Ogle the PS5 Controller's Light Strip in Different Colours

XOF

Damn, all them colors look pretty nice. But still, my favorite is the Playstation blue. I'm a big fan of that color and it somehow looks more gorgeous on PS5 and DualSense than PS4 and DS4.
Can't afford the console at launch, will have to wait a long while till I get it. But *****... I'm hyped for it.

I'm really excited to see the UI and what changes they've made in the firmware software. But I'm honestly not mad they haven't shown any of it yet. I can live with that.

Re: Random: PS5 Looks Way Better As a Skyscraper Than a Games Console

XOF

Not "way better" than a console to be honest. I remember some of the fan mock-ups of PS5 received some love here that were absolute crap. The PS5 is indeed a beautiful device.
I'd very much like a building like that though, would be a sight to see when you finally get to go out, whenever that is.

Re: The Pathless Confirmed as a PS5 Launch Game

XOF

@Enuo consider me the ... excited!

The last trailer they showed at the State of Play looked incredible. It looks like a mix of Shadow of the Colossus and Journey. Not to mention the music is also by Austin Wintory the same composer as Journey.

Re: The Last of Us 2 Multiplayer Will Be Worth the Wait, Says Neil Druckmann

XOF

@TheArt I completely understand the persona connection a person makes with a fictional character (it is obvious that I did myself). However, you're right. The biggest point here is that Neil Druckmann created those characters and I doubt there's anybody anywhere in this world that cares for, knows, and loves them more than he does. (This is coming from an aspiring author) When you create something of your own, it's the dearest thing to you.
What Neil Druckmann did wasn't dirty, it was brave. He needs to be praised for that but... yup... people keep joking about it and make up names for him. Shame. In a perfect world, people would understand the value of Part II as a sequel.

EDIT: Factions 2 can't come fast enough. I can't wait to see Part II's mechanics and gameplay in a Multiplayer canvas. SO EXCITING!

Re: Final Fantasy 16 Targeting a Mature Age Rating

XOF

Oh, awesome! Might sound like a bad idea, but I just like it more when games to M rated. I hope that doesn't just mean there's gonna be sexual stuff everywhere, rather they tackle more nuanced and darker themes.
I'm so hyped for this game. YES!

Re: Godfall Gets Its Best PS5 Trailer Yet

XOF

Oh hell yeah, I have been looking forward to this game since the announcement in TGA. It looks fun and exciting and I'm sure it'll be good times playing this coop whenever I can afford to pick PS5 up.
Awesome.

Re: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake Is Real, Looks Weird

XOF

um, aside from how it looks, I'm thinking it's not culturally "Persian" anymore. That looks like Prince of Arabia, somehow?

I'm not very hopeful in Ubisoft's games. After seeing AC: Valhalla's gameplay I was drastically disappointed in that game. I'd want this one to be a great game too but something tells me stupid decisions from Ubisoft is gonna also hold this one back.

Re: The Last of Us 2 Changes the Credits on Grounded, Permadeath

XOF

@1_W1NG3D_4NG3L neither do I! The most use I've had of any walk-through was revisiting certain cutscenes in games that I really enjoyed. (Particularly the ranch scene in TLOU Part I) Other than that, I find it baffling that people actually watch, say, 30 hours of gameplay by someone else. Weird, but idk, whatever gets people's boats floating.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Gets Key Art Ahead of Reveal

XOF

@StormNuken Because I honestly want it to interest me. I don't hate games. I really enjoyed the Moder Warfare reboot they did and I played a lot of the multiplayer (until they decided that 100GB wasn't enough for one game and kept increasing the size and I just had to let it go)
My opinion on this one isn't 100% solid either. Hell, we haven't seen anything yet! would be stupid to form an opinion right now. I might like this when I see/play the actual game. Just not a fan of the name and the yearly routine of releasing the games.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Gets Key Art Ahead of Reveal

XOF

Am I the only one who really hates this title?
I feel like they're just becoming less and less creative with naming these games one after another. I would've taken Black Ops V better than this unless they were gonna write it "BO-IIIII" which is... quite possible given their history of naming the series...
But I'm personally really done with COD. It just doesn't interest me anymore.

Re: Ubisoft Cancelled a Co-Op King Arthur Action RPG Because Ex-Exec Didn't Like the Setting

XOF

@ShogunRok Agreed. I personally don't put much faith in Schreir where opinion counts. But digging stuff like this, he's good. Although I do wonder how someone like him with access to this many insider knowledge can have such surface-level opinions about video games (in general). Most of the time, when not talking facts, he sounds like a 10-year-old who just bought a console and doesn't even know which way the disk goes in. lol

This thing about Ubisoft pisses me off. Imagine someone with that much power and say in green-lighting projects. You'd expect a committee or something on Ubisoft's scale

Re: Assassin's Creed Valhalla Reveals How You'll Switch Between Heroes

XOF

Sad to see the art of character-driven storytelling being butchered like this. Imagine ruining creativity because some higher-ups want their pockets filled more.
Ubisoft has some neat talent, I tell ya, in terms of artistic and design capabilities they are of the finest. Just look at the 1:1 recreation of Parthenon in AC: Odyssey. I was awestruck by that. Too bad the whole game wasn't really all that interesting. The Ancient Greek Tour Guide was more fun than the game... guess we know why.

Re: Random: This Retailer Had Fun with Its Custom Ghost of Tsushima Box Art

XOF

Damn, that's pretty sick! out there people be throwing free goodies with games and out here retailers double the prices for no reason.
(Third world, by the way, we don't really have a "market" it's just a bunch of guys selling games with whatever price they want. All the more reason to go digital... not that it's so much better)
These look pretty awesome. Can't wait for tomorrow.

Re: Talking Point: The Last of Us 2 Spoilers Discussion

XOF

@Splat Exactly my thoughts too. Laura Bailey is the only person who could've pulled this role off and she did it amazingly. While I still have my grudge against Abby (come on, she kills one of my favorites of all time) by the end of the story I could fully understand her.
And that fight vs Ellie was painful, especially when Ellie loses at the end and has her hand broken, and ALMOST loses Dina too. I couldn't breathe in those few minutes. But daggum, that fight was brilliantly designed. Not only Ellie is terrifying in that fight, but she's also paralleling her own fight against David. That was masterfully done. It was very painful to hit my baby girl with Abby, but I got myself killed a few times intentionally to make up for it...

Re: How Well Do You Know The Last of Us?

XOF

14/15 damn Assault Rifle got me.
Needless to say this is my favorite game. Nothing can replace it.
Currently playing Part II, loving it so far. It has a lot of room for discussion. Looks forward to talking about Part II in the coming weeks.

Re: Poll: Did You Miss E3 2020 Last Week?

XOF

I'm among the 11% (so far) who didn't even know it was last week.
I used to get all excited and hyped for E3, but since Playsation left it didn't have the same energy to it.
I'm sure people who got to attend it in person really miss it, but for those of us like me who just watch it from home, Playstation 5 Event was more than enough.

Re: Blind Gamer Reacts to The Last of Us 2's Unprecedented Accessibility Options

XOF

@SirAngry while I understand and support that those big companies should come together and work on this to set up some, at least basic, guidelines for accessibility, I just can't turn a blind eye to the business side of it.
These are all big corporations we're talking about. One of their goals is making money. Without that profit, they won't last long. What you're saying is really awesome, almost too good to be ever true, sadly. As cynical as it sounds, I think accessibility options will become a selling point for certain games/companies. Like, oh yeah, our system/game has this so buy it. It's ***** but well, we ain't living in a utopia after all.

Re: The Last of Us 2's TV Commercial Is As Epic As You'd Expect

XOF

@Octane I'm totally speculating here, but judging by the visuals and animation used on all of these PS exclusive CGI commercials, I believe Sony has a separate studio/division for making these and doesn't want to trouble Naughty Dog (or other studios) with the task of making these.
The way I see it, all these CGI TV ads have two things in common: The CGI animation graphics (As well as a little bit of colors!) and they all focus on action.

Re: Feature: The Last of Us - Full Story Recap

XOF

It's very hard for me to talk about The Last of Us. I've probably played it more than any other game in my entire life. It's still impressive and gets me every time I play it.
I'm forever grateful for Neil Druckmann and Naughty Dog for bringing this game to life. And I absolutely can't wait to play Part II.

Great recap, except for the point dear Neolit mentioned too.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima Will Kill You Quickly

XOF

@Neolit Agreed.
Let's be honest, a lot of us are too busy and may get only a few hours of gaming. Spending all that time looting enemies that drop you a few cents is surely not what you want. (I'm not one of those people, by the way, just mentioning this because my brother totally skipped playing RDR2 because he couldn't pour all them hours in it)

On the other hand @Col_McCafferty, I think the experience offered by these two games is drastically different. We'll find out for sure pretty soon, but I think Ghost of Tsushima (in terms of overall experience) is aiming for something more familiar. At least that's the idea I get from the latest trailer. (Outposts, Places of Interest, etc.) Whereas, RDR2 sort of avoids these. Places of Interest in RDR2, for the most part, aren't marked on the map. Your best chance of finding the Viking Tomb is either by accident or using google. You get the idea. It feels right for Ghost of Tsushima to follow the seamless looting system than trying to ground itself in the calmness of gathering herbs and making coffee at your campsite in the woods while it rains.

I can't decide which one is best either. I enjoy both of them but I agree that it heavily depends on the goal of the overall experience.
