From what I see, you need to specifically select a discless console like the PS5 digital edition or series S. They also ask you for either a copy of the receipt/box from your discless console or a screenshot from your console with your PSN ID visible.

I submitted mine even tho I have the disc copy, we’ll see if they go for it! If not, I still have the free disc upgrade. Just slightly more hassle involved.

@RubyCarbuncle You’ll have a long wait. Other than the M.2 slot, there will never be external storage on the PS5 that will let you play PS5 games.

Given that Yakuza: LAD didn’t have save transfers, I assume this one doesn’t either?

If not, I’ll stick with my native PS4 version for now, sadly.

If we can get this AND a Miles Edgeworth Investigations double pack with the not-released-in-English second game as well, Capcom will be on my good list forever.

I’m genuinely but pleasantly shocked.

I have a 4 TB Western Digital MyBook with a separate AC power source. If my PS4/5 crashes I'd prefer power not get cut to the drive, which would be the case with your typical external USB powered drive.

Had it for two years on my PS4 and now PS5, not a single issue.

Been tempted to upgrade to an 8 TB model, but that's probably overkill. As is an SSD, honestly. Not a huge benefit for a larger cash outlay. My priority is storage capacity, not speed.

Hell...I don't believe my original PS4 could even use the full bandwidth of my current hard drive. My PS5 can.

@fluggy I think you don’t understand that PS5 games are designed with ONLY the SSD speeds in mind.

@Matroska The whole point here is that the PS4 version (hey look, this is a Playstation site! ) of S has slightly worse graphics than the PS4 version of the original release. This isn't debatable, and whether your friend's PC version looks indistinguishable is completely irrelevant. If you put the two PS4 versions side-by-side the difference is small but there.

All three digital games are downloaded to my PS4, and the physical edition is sitting on my shelf, along with the other games, Judgment, Fist of the North Star, Yakuza Dead Souls (eh) and Project X Zone 2.

I am a happy man today.

@RBMango Agreed. If specs were my only point of interest, I'd never have purchased a Switch. Which was my favorite console of 2018, I should add.

Now would it be NICE if Sony would trounce MS utterly on the specs? Absolutely. But I'm still guaranteed to buy a PS5 unless Sony somehow utterly screws the pooch on a level hitherto unseen in this reality.

There’s no reason for this. The current PS4 is plenty slim, and making it slimmer would have zero measurable effect compared to a simple price drop by itself. It’s not like you carry your PS4 around like a Switch.

I so wanted to like this game. The demo seemed neat at first, and then the incessant loading screens turned me off quickly.

Seems like a decent Iron Man simulator, but when the original Destiny seems like a fairer and more interesting game than a game made by BIOWARE of all people...

Maybe if it drops to $29 or lower. And if I have iron-clad proof they fixed the PS4 crashing/near-bricking issues.
