@nessisonett Yes and no. It was a good game but they were also in milking territory at that stage so I think it never really got the credit it deserved.
Chronicles wasn't really very good, and then The Angel of Darkness was a disaster. So the trilogy as a whole is a pretty meh era of Lara.
@Americansamurai1 That'd be great. Hopefully all the other Twisted Metal titles, too. I know it's not a good one, but I've never played Small Brawl for instance.
@Contimaloris PS Plus has been a really good alternative for a while. Obviously it doesn't have that first-party perk, but it's cheaper and the catalogue is actually excellent. (Underrated, I'd argue!)
@McTwist To be fair, this is the high budget DBZ game you've been waiting for. I know other Bandai Namco anime stuff is a bit crap, but they actually put some money behind this one.
@Matroska A little bit, yeah. They probably didn't get a huge budget to make this to be fair. I wonder if they would have almost been better off focusing on one or two sports rather than four, but then reviews would just complain the game is too thin on content.
@nessisonett Not really encountered any input lag online (thankfully). Have experienced some deflections going to the opponent, though.
@riceNpea There's quite a lot about Career Mode in the review to be fair. It's not an afterthought this year because, as mentioned, all the new offline weather simulation aspects really add a level of unpredictability.
You can do more tactically now thanks to the changes there (read the review), and you have more control over youth development as you can use them in youth tournaments (5-a-side).
Another thing they're adding (but I didn't try because it's coming later in the season), is Live Starting Points. These will reflect real-life storylines in the various leagues, so you might have 10 games to save a team from relegation or be top at Christmas with the objective of staying there and winning the league.
@ironcrow86 Yeah the commentary is awful. It's not just the people doing it, it's also the way it's delivered; so stilted and not realistic at all. All the American sports games are much better.
Imagine saying PS5's catalogue sucks when this week alone we have Silent Hill 2, Dragon Ball, and Metaphor — all of which are critically acclaimed. And that's one week.
Yes, they're not exclusive Sony published games, but you can only play them all on PS5 or PC. Crazy times!
@Octaslasher I want to clarify I’m fine with remakes. But I suppose the difference is that tech evolved faster in the examples you shared. The jump between Resident Evil PS1 and Resident Evil GameCube is MASSIVE, even though there’s only a few years between them.
The other thing is you can play Until Dawn on PS5 already with a great frame rate. Same with The Last of Us 1.
As I’ve said already, I like both remakes a lot. But that does create a strange situation where the remakes can seem more “unnecessary”.
@Acquiescence They all seem pretty dislikeable to me so I can’t say I noticed that if it’s true. I’d be surprised if they changed the dialogue because I assume they’d have to re-record it to do that.
@Areus The original was on Decima, so yeah, it’s a bit odd. But Unreal 5 is also really nice. The game looks great and, while it’s a shame to see the poor performance, I don’t think it really affects the gameplay in something like this.
@thefourfoldroot1 It's a tough one to review but I felt value had to be part of the equation when a version of the game already exists on the system and is a third of the price.
Ultimately, I concluded that, while I like the remake and agree it's a great game, I'd probably recommend people get the original right now.
@Tecinthebrain Because it's running on Unreal Engine 5 and looks a lot, lot, lot better than its PS4 predecessor. But I agree — it's a weird situation.
I don’t think the marketing deal with Microsoft is a problem on its own. It’s the fact that the marketing deal prevents Sony from mentioning the game entirely. Nothing on the PS Blog; no trailers on the PS YouTube; etc.
Given the much larger audience of PlayStation, especially for JRPGs, none of this seems wise.
Also, this game is going to get eaten alive by Sparking Zero!

The Angel of Darkness sucks! I can't wait!

@BloodyBlact Might be a bit more manageable with rewind and the save states.
Re: TV Show Review: Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft - Globetrotting Animated Adventure Edges Lara's Arc Forward
@DualWielding Not really, but she's mentioned a lot.
Re: TV Show Review: Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft - Globetrotting Animated Adventure Edges Lara's Arc Forward
@Orpheus79V @Coolmusic It continues Shadow of the Tomb Raider, but it's meant to bridge the gap to the next game.
Re: Genshin Impact's Big New PS5, PS4 Story Has Been Downgraded in English
@Judal27 Isn't chatting like 90% of the game, though?
Re: TV Show Review: Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft - Globetrotting Animated Adventure Edges Lara's Arc Forward
@Blaze215 Can't agree with this at all! She looks like someone who spends her time rock climbing and sprinting away from danger.
If it helps, there are several scenes where she wears pretty dresses — and even one where she's in the bath.
The character design is good.
Re: TV Show Review: Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft - Globetrotting Animated Adventure Edges Lara's Arc Forward
@MUG3NHC Pretty big, I assume. If she ever needs someone to take an accurate measurement, I'd be more than happy to volunteer my services.
Re: TV Show Review: Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft - Globetrotting Animated Adventure Edges Lara's Arc Forward
@ScarletSpidey That's fair, I've edited that.
@LordAinsley I don't understand how anyone could like Jonah, but each to their own. He's in this a lot and it's the same voice actor.
@tameshiyaku I do think it gets better after Episode 1. I was also ready to give up on it after the opener.

Any questions, let me know!

@HeeHo I think they're re-releasing Siren in the new emulator.

@springer17 Appreciate the correction!
Re: Over 2,800 PS5, PS4 Games Score Discounts of Up to 90% Off
@springer17 Ah that's my bad, I think Digital Deluxe might have been added today. I'll remove that anyway.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Silent Hill 2?
The original Silent Hill 2 is absolutely incredible. Will definitely be getting the remake.

Tough one.

Re: Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero's Great Ape Vegeta Fight Is Driving Players Insane
For a game that has massive mainstream appeal, my opinion is that it's just way too hard. A lot of people will bounce if they don't rebalance it.

What a game! I spent so many hours with this over the years!
Re: Fiona Feeds You Dessert in PS5, PS4's Venus Vacation Prism: Dead or Alive
@thefourfoldroot1 Sony doesn't seem to have an issue with this game to be fair. Seems to be Koei Tecmo's decision not to release it globally.
Re: Until Dawn Is One of Sony's Worst Performing PC Ports to Date
@Shepherd_Tallon Movie is probably a year away to be honest. I think they're just hoping it will chug away over time, like you say.
