Will continue with Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and Dragon Quest XI. I think I'm starting to near the end of Dragon Quest. I'm not really sure I want it to as I've enjoyed it so much. May also do some more Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm, which has become my relaxation game.

@RogerRoger That gif is quite hypnotic!

Quite a mix this week! Continuing with Red Dead Redemption 2, which I'm loving and think is easily Rockstar's best game. I really like the world and setting. Also continuing with Dragon Quest XI. I've neglected this recently as I was away and then played more Red Dead. It's been nice to get back into.

On the Vita I'm playing Metal Gear Solid 3 which is rather excellent. I also started a replay of Symphony of the Night on Halloween.

Re: Rockstar Confirms Existence of Red Dead Redemption 2 Camp Bug, Fix on the Way

Yeah, my game has been affected. It suddenly occurred to me that the characters were nowhere to be seen. Some of the camp dialogue and banter as well as quests add a lot to the dynamic of the group and Arthur's relationship with them. If had known what triggered it at the time I would have been extra careful. I don't care to redo it as I have now spent many hours on the game, but am looking forward to the fix.

With or without the current U.S. President, the world has become scarily divisive and full of anger, with a wave of far-right nationalism spreading throughout Europe as well as America. I think Rockstar can still satirize the current climate - because let's be honest it's better to laugh at the absurdity of things than it is to cry. The real world is offensive, not a video-game that's a piss-take of it.

Dragon Quest XI is enormous so I'm continuing with that- and enjoying every bit of it. Yay!

Also continuing with Metal Gear Solid 2.

@Rudy_Manchego Nintendo ain't surpassed the Gamecube and they never will! Metroid Prime is marvellous. Have you got any other games lined up to play on it?

Continuing with Dragon Quest XI. It's very beguiling and lovely as it has been the past month.

On handheld I continue the Adventures of Jack and Rose (a.ka. Metal Gear Solid 2) and have almost finished Dragon Quest Heroes Rocket Slime which I shall play tomorrow while watching Xena.

@RogerRoger Do you have anything awesome in your backlog you're itching to play?

Re: Dragon Quest XI Must Sell Well in the West if Future Games Are to Make it Overseas, Says Square

mookysam

Bought XI at launch and am really enjoying it. Deliberately taking my time so I don't get through it too quickly. The music is probably the only real criticism I have, which is a shame as there are some good melodies hidden behind the 90's style MIDI. Aside from that, it's shaping up to be one of the PS4's finest RPGs.

Hopefully this is a slow-burner in terms of sales and will gradually rack up what is needed? People who have it seem to love it, so maybe there will be good word of mouth? Square-Enix didn't advertise and I'm not too sure many gamers are even aware of its existence, so who can say what sales expectations actually were.

Dragon Quest XI Like others playing it, I'm finding it most excellent. The other day I reached a moment that was really emotional. I just wish there was more variation in the town music.

Steamworld Dig 2 I enjoyed the first game a lot, so got this right after finishing it. There are so many additions and improvements. It's just as addictive as before.

Continuing with Dragon Quest XI, which I am really enjoying. It's lovely to play such a traditional RPG. It's a really nice change of pace and actually makes the game stand out in a genre where many of the big names have eschewed that style of gameplay.

Started Steamworld Dig on the Vita last night as I got it in a sale years ago and figured it would be good to start tackling my digital backlog some more. The gameplay is rather addictive and it looks really colourful and crisp.

@kyleforrester87 Don't see why you wouldn't. The turn-based system is very traditional although it feels fast and modern, and the game has a nice medieval-ish setting like FF9. There's even a new feature similar to trance. I'm not too far into the story, but it seems pretty mysterious so far. Dragon Quest games have varied with the depth of their stories, but many have been quite dark. I'd certainly recommend it if you're into traditional style Japanese RPGs!

Hope your eye gets better soon.

Been playing Dragon Quest XI all week. This game is absolutely gorgeous and the turn-based battles are very fast compared to previous entries. There's a lot of refinements and improvements too. The script is great, as always. The new monsters are so cute!

Yesterday, inspired by our current forum poll, I started Metal Gear Solid. Not played much yet but I'm looking forward to get further into it!

Been doing a 1999 mode replay of BioShock Infinite and should have that finished today. It's odd, it seems harder than when I did it on the 360. Perhaps my skills have declined. 😂 It is interesting how some of the themes of the story are even more relevant today than they were in 2013.

Also continuing with Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm. I've completed two story arcs now. I'm really enjoying this game.

On handheld I've added yet another game to the rotation - Severed on the Vita. I just fancied something with a more laid-back pace as I've not been very well this week and it is something to play in little bursts. The combat has a lot more depth than you would initially think. I really like the presentation and desolate atmosphere.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 234

Should have Guacamelee finished very soon. After that I think I might start a replay of BioShock Infinite or Crash Bandicoot 3.

Continuing with Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm. I want to ramp it up a bit over the next week and hopefully have it finished before Dragon Quest XI arrives!

Handheld is the same as last week - Trails in the Sky Second Chapter and Dragon Quest Heroes Rocket Slime. I haven't made much progress recently as it is hard to find the time!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 233

mookysam

Finished my replay of BioShock 2 (got the platinum, yay) and in its place will start Guacamelee on the PS4 in preparation for the sequel's release. I loved the first on the Vita and am quite looking forward to 2!

Also continuing with the Curse of the Pharoahs Assassin's Creed Origins DLC. I took a bit of a break from it in the week as it started feeling a bit repetitive in the way most Ubisoft games tend to after a long time playing. The afterlife areas are cool, however and I enjoy the gorgeous Egyptian landscapes.

Additionally continuing with Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm, albeit slowly. Really rather enjoyable. Handheld sees it's the continuation of Trails in the Sky Second Chapter!

@RogerRoger @LaNooch1978 Everything or Nothing has been on my list for a while. I never played it when it was originally released so would be interested to play it.

Mafia 3 does sound interesting in terms of story. I don't have PS Plus at the moment, but hope to play it one day. Also, Respect is an all-time favourite song of mine.
