Re: PS Store Sales Charts: The Last of Us 2 Rides High on HBO Series Success

mrbone

TLOU 2 is a masterpiece. Who would have thought you would have fought your beloved character as a boss? The climax and that flashback with Joel in between are really strong. Haters just talking nonsense. While they can hate for different reasons, it was pathetic they bring LGBT as a main reason for their hate while that theme has never been part of a major plot.

Re: Microsoft Goes Scorched Earth Over UK's Activision Buyout Block

mrbone

@The_Crow_Chat To gloat over PlayStation, they really want it. Thing is gamepass has been dry since launch apart from very occasional first party titles. They really need big name. Microsoft will likely raise the fee after the merger. Even now they close the promotion which the vast majority use to subscribe 3 years. Tbh, that whole 3 years have been pretty meh and my subscription will finish in coming Sept.

Re: Microsoft Goes Scorched Earth Over UK's Activision Buyout Block

There have been complaints against Microsoft by smaller competitors in the UK as they have been offering their software free (especially teams/ outlook/ 365) during COVID to NHS. Now almost all NHS trusts adopt Microsoft software and windows. (Although ipad is largely used by them too)

Re: PS5 Sales Surged An Outrageous 316% in the UK Last Month

mrbone

@ManaOwls There is usually a trade in program once new model launched at least in PS4 era. Originally bought slim 500gb then swap with 1TB slim for minimal price with new FIFA and then swapped with PS4 pro for minimal price again. I sold PS 4 pro at a price comparable to or slight loss what I paid for these consoles once II got PS5.

Re: The Response to Rocksteady's Suicide Squad Has Been Abysmal

mrbone

@Thumper Superman or the Flash games are difficult to make unless you take away some of their abilities. Smallville-style powers limit might work though. Wonder woman or maybe Aquaman games might be easier to make. I am interested to see how EA will make the Iron Man game.

Re: Sony Has No Console Exclusivity Over Baldur's Gate 3

mrbone

Why it was off-topic when the whole situation has been blown out by Xbox fans? And this is not even the first time this kind of thing happened. There is nothing in my comment which flame the console war or rude words. I am just expressing my opinion.

Re: Destiny 2: Lightfall Details Your New 'Strand' Powers

mrbone

Looks fun. I am thinking to start playing Destiny 2 with recent one expansion being free and I finished with B4B. Disappointed with Back 4 Blood as I finish all chapters in just 1-2 weeks. What class/ subclass would I take? I am not good with FPS usually.

Re: Rumour: PS Plus Essential PS5, PS4 Games for January 2023 Leaked Early

mrbone

@FatalBubbles Means there are fewer options with Xbox. To be honest, Gamepass was also underwhelming in 2022. You only get third-party indie games with 0 first-party AAA games throughout the year. Since the next-gen, they have only released 2 first-party AAA games. Surprisingly they are doing well just with promises for the future.

Re: PS London Studio Making a Fantasy-Based Online Co-Op Game

mrbone

@UltimateOtaku91 Haters are more active here than fans, unfortunately. Just ignore them. While I respect different people's tastes, it is funny to see those haters always moaning with pathetic excuses in every article. Does not help this site (unlike its sister website) ignite the flame with some articles as, obviously, those kinds of articles attract more engagement. But in the long run, that may turn away some of the fans, like on Facebook (especially posts related to vaccines or some sensitive political topics), it is mostly those bots/ paid trolls who comment and in the end, they are the only ones left.

Re: Rumour: PS Plus Essential PS5, PS4 Games for November 2022 Leaked Early

mrbone

Some people will keep finding faults for a few overlapping games between Essential and higher tiers, completely overlooking the fact that some people would only sub the lowest tier, and those games never expire. It is really easy for Sony to make higher tiers more attractive- just follow what Xbox is doing by offering utterly rubbish games for the lowest tier. Not sure you people want that? There are only so many games they can give out.

Re: Poll: Do You Care About 60fps on PS5?

mrbone

Personally, I don't care as long as I can enjoy the story and gameplay. A shame the plague tale can't do 60 fps. Maybe the pointless number of rats bogs it down? They will probably give update later like the first one, but its gameplay is never fast paced (at which time it will also be free on ps plus). There was WB developer's comment about Xbox series S dragging down this generation, not sure that would explain Gotham Knight trouble. I would still play it at some point as I like to play co-op.

Re: PS5 Overtakes Switch as UK's Best-Selling Console of 2022

mrbone

Haters will still moan. Thing is a lot of places still sell the bundles at similar prices despite 30£ increase. Pound and Euro have been losing a lot of their values against dollar this year. Saw a lot of news about 30£ increase but I barely see news of Apple increases their pro phone by 150£ but keep the same price in the Us)

Re: PlayStation Bites Back At 'Inadequate' Call of Duty Offer from Microsoft

mrbone

@Godot25 I know you are making things up. You don't need to say these irrelevant things. You are veering from our argument again and again. Shall we focus on the fact that Phil lied on Twitter? There is no signed agreement nor does he offer to provide several years of COD content. (don't say he doesn't need to, yes absolutely true but he needs to appease the regulators, hence he lied)

Re: PlayStation Bites Back At 'Inadequate' Call of Duty Offer from Microsoft

mrbone

@Godot25 Twisting thing huh? Then why didn't he just say he offered 3 years beyond the current agreement? (it is not 2028, it is 3 years after the current agreement which is nowhere equivalent to several). Now you are explaining what happened behind the scene? lol. For me signed agreement means both parties agree and thus signed, it is the word Phil used, not the actual process or requirement. Shall we focus on the argument of Phil lied?

Re: PlayStation Bites Back At 'Inadequate' Call of Duty Offer from Microsoft

mrbone

@Godot25 Signed agreement does not mean it is signed by both parties? And according to this news, this is also an existing agreement. What in Jan? (edit: read in again they offered three more years after the current agreement). We all understand signed agreement means it is agreed upon by both parties. That's when people signed, no? 3 years now is several years? It is just a lie to get this deal through the regulators.

Re: PlayStation Bites Back At 'Inadequate' Call of Duty Offer from Microsoft

mrbone

Xbox fanboys whine here again with similar excuses.Sony fund the games previously to make them exclusive, bought the studios they have close ties with. Unrealistic to compare the different things. The thing is Phil Spencer lies, he lies to make this deal goes through. He offers 3 years, not because he is generous but because he wants this deal to get approved.

Re: UK Government Investigating Xbox's Activision Buyout Further

mrbone

@Dr_Luigi @Dr_Luigi For now they are making this far using firsty party exclusive promise. Have you seen this month gamepass entries? Completely rubbish. Do you simply they are making profits with dlc now? To survive, they need to make most games live services. Hence the latest Halo has gone into oblivion. Something are obvious that you don't even need to make assumption.

Re: UK Government Investigating Xbox's Activision Buyout Further

mrbone

@Dr_Luigi Dont underestimate the power of sharing among people. A lot of people I know subscribe streaming services through various means/share or exchange their passwords.. Yes these non tech savvy people.
First party AAA games cost hundred of millions to develop and their big first party new gen halo game is mostly deserted now despite multiplayer component is completely free. Not sure that would be cheaper for them compared to paying 6 digit figure for simulator game. It will take a few years to see how this play out. But let’s see if they can keep at this price after they start releasing first party AAA games REGULARLY (although they will take the burn initially). Of note is all the movie streaming services keep raising their price once they get a foothold (and subsequently lost subscribers although I reckon games are not as easy to pirate as movies).

Re: UK Government Investigating Xbox's Activision Buyout Further

mrbone

@Dr_Luigi No one is contradicting. I told you above it may be sustainable now as they have only released very few first-party games since launch and mostly padded with 3rd party independent games. The real thing is when they start releasing their big first-party games.

I would say that isn't the loophole, MS just deliberately allows it to increase sub base (since launch- that's where the great value comes from). Surely they would close gwg upgrade at some point, but the important question then is will people want to continue with that price? The thing is most gamers are tech-savvy, and a lot of people have been subscribing through much cheaper 3rd world countries (which they cannot close).

Of course, they believe what they are doing. But the thing is they have burned a lot of money through Nokia and multiple mobile failures before. The point is being one of the richest companies, they have enough money to test the water.

Re: UK Government Investigating Xbox's Activision Buyout Further

mrbone

@Dr_Luigi Too optimistic. The vast majority of people now subscribe using the cheap upgrade gwg pathway or sub through third world countries. If they really charge 15 per month or stricter with accounts sharing, no doubt a lot will leave. At the moment, it seems sustainable as they only release very few (most not so well received) first party games since its launch and make up with small independent games instead. Coincident or not, almost all of these 3rd party D1 independent games are available to rival services like PS plus or Epic at some point for free. Once they start release AAA first party games from studios they bought, that’s when to make assessment whether this is really sustainable without MS deep pocket.
