Re: PS5 Controller to Get Hands On Showcase Tomorrow

In the Facebook story version of this video, you can see Astrobot on a background monitor, so he'll definitely be playing that to show off its gimmicks. Makes me wonder, though, if he was sent a devkit to do that, or the actual console, and if we can get a real close look at that. Hoping it's the latter. I just wanna know how big it actually is.

Re: Some First Party Studios Don't Know What Sony's PS5 Console Looks Like

Yeah, Sony have been really good about stopping PS5 leaks. The specs didn't leak, the final controller didn't leak, the hardware hasn't leaked. There are pretty heavy rumors of games, but it's not like we've seen key art for Horizon 2, or Demon's Souls. They really have kept it extraordinarily close to the chest, which makes the potential of tomorrow's event even more enthralling.

Re: PS5 Now Has Its Own Custom Twitter Hashtags

I mean, we certainly had an idea that this will be big when they had ads on ESPN, and now with this... people definitely have high expectations. Sony seems to be aware of that, and they are absolutely stoking the flames. Let's hope they don't disappoint, huh?

Re: Bungie Confirms Next Destiny 2 DLC Reveal for 9th June

Bums me out to see so few comments on this post, with all of them being... less than stoked. I'm certainly not a Destiny fanboy, and haven't played in a VERY long time, but I always want to believe in it. Clearly that is not felt by others. Shame 😔

Re: PS5 Event Confirmed, Over an Hour of PS5 Games Will Be Shown Next Week

sajoey

Obviously this isn't going to be structured like a State of Play, but those start with the PS4 light bar and beep, and those sounds in the trailer sound a lot like opening menu sounds, so I wonder if they're going to "start up" a PS5, to really drive home that everything is running on it, and to give us a tease of the hardware itself. That'd be fun, I think.

Re: Regional PlayStation Blog Sites Now Point to One Single Location

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if we saw the box and got an announcement of the event for next week today. I'm certainly not going to hold my breath, but Jason Schreier's colleague said that production is starting on the console VERY soon, and much like the Dualsense, I imagine they'd want to get in ahead of that. If they show the box and tell us to tune in on the 3rd, Playstation will be all anyone is talking about for the next several weeks.

Re: Sony Bosses Want PS5 Event to Be as Professional as Possible, Multiple Shows Were Apparently Refused Earlier This Year

This tracks with Sony's commitment to professionalism and desire to constantly blow Microsoft out of the water. Sure they got in first, really, but Sony has time and expectations on their side. It's obvious that they have quite a lot of faith in the console, regardless of the flop counts (ugh). There's no way they're just gonna have Jim Ryan in a Zoom chat just pull the PS5 chassis in from off screen. They want class, dignity, and flair, despite the circumstances. And I commend them for it.

Re: PS5 Event Finally Happening as Early as Next Week

Give me games, show me the box, maybe tease some system UI stuff. Once they open the floodgates, I imagine we'll get more stuff over the following months, so I'm not worried about getting every little detail laid out right here. Just enough to reinvigorate the community and get us truly excited about the next generation of gaming.

Re: Sucker Punch Preparing Ghost of Tsushima Gameplay Reveal for Near Future

I'm also really hoping for a State of Play soon. I don't anticipate direct PS5 news in it, but maybe updates on TLOU2, Ghost of Tsushima, and other stuff that WWS is working on (speaking of, where's Iron Man VR?). Maybe a tease of when the supposed big PS5 event will be at the end, though. They certainly wouldn't be able to have a State of Play at this point while completely ignoring the PS5.

Re: Next-Gen Game Reveals Are Imminent, But Sony Silent on PS5 Plans

sajoey

Everyone in the comments nervous about Sony being so quiet. It's fine. They've been like this the whole time, and it works for them. Both the Wired articles were released with little fanfare. The tech breakdown was announced the day prior. I woke up one day and knew what the PS5 controller looked like. I didn't know I was gonna know that when I went to bed the night before. It was sick. I'm really not worried.
