Re: Game of the Year 2017: #1 - Persona 5

@get2sammyb seeing the mini-review in this article, all the comments, and the overwhelming support for the game from your co-workers, I doubt you're gonna get much agreement or sympathy on that point.

Re: Reaction: Sony Must Pick Between PSX or Paris Games Week

sajoey

According to Sony themselves, they intend to have two big shows every year now. E3, and then they'll probably alternate between PSX, and probably PGW or GamesCom. I think it's fine. I'd prefer PSX, because it's much more fan focused, but as long as they get their news out in a way that's comfortable and at a reasonable pace, I'm happy.

Re: Bridge Constructor Portal Announced, Coming Early 2018

I mean, as a Portal fanboy, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't going to buy this. That being said, when rumours started cropping up about a Portal related announcement at The Game Awards, this is definitely not what I envisioned. I mean, I tried to temper my expectations. No Portal 3, obviously. But...I dunno. A remaster collection? A VR remaster, or even just experience? Something. Not... not this.

Re: Round Up: Sonic Forces PS4 Reviews Strip Blue Blur's Rings

I just beat it, and personally, I enjoyed it a lot. It has its issues, certainly. A few moments of slippery control, particularly as the Avatar stand out. But overall, it is a much more polished version of the groundwork they laid out with Generations, but prettier and with more focus, fewer glitches, and more to do. The soundtrack is also great. Definitely a standout for me.

Re: UK Sales Charts: Gran Turismo Sport Triples Forza 7's Launch

Hey, I don't mean to sound rude or anything, but how come no one talks about the DLC? Reviewers seem to give somewhat of a pass to multiplayer heavy games (like Overwatch) for having relatively little content at launch, but providing free stuff promised down the line. And from what I've heard (please correct me if I'm wrong), there will be several tracks and several hundred cars released for free, with no noticeable microtransactions from what I've seen, just by the end of this year. Considering pretty much everyone praises the handling, the graphics, the strong netcode, the cool matchmaking system, and really everything else a game like this needs, but knocks it down for a perceived lack of content (which at this point is totally valid), that seems like something that would be worth mentioning. I dunno. Just something that's been bugging me lately. Sorry for rambling.

Re: PlayStation Chief Andrew House Leaves Sony After Over 25 Years

The last big shakeup I remember like this was Tretton to Layden, and that worked out okay, so I'm very hopeful for this. That being said, I'll miss Andy. He's been a big part of PlayStation, and more publicly the conferences, for many, many, MANY years. I'll never forget when he got to be the one to finally, publicly say "PlayStation 4". I wish him all the best, and hope they give him one last hurrah at PSX or PGW.

Re: Shenmue 1 & 2 Could Keep Friends Close on PS4 This Year

sajoey

If this is real, it will 100% be a day one buy. I'll own physical, original versions of all the Shenmue games, since I own 1 and 2 on the Dreamcast, and ponied up enough to the Kickstarter to get that physical. Plus the second disc on Shenmue 1 is ruined and my copy of Shenmue 2, though mint, is European, and I only have an American Dreamcast, so this remaster would let me actually play them, which would be cool.

Re: Sony Actually Made a PS4 Pro Commercial

sajoey

I dunno what you guys are talking about. Every Playstation EU YouTube video I've seen recently ends with the Pro, and a logo touting it as "The World's Most Powerful Console". Though I suppose you're right in saying this is one of the only specific ads for it.
