Re: Sony Offering Free Game of Thrones PS4 Theme and Avatars in the US

Well this turned our to be a butched promotional event. I went through all the hoops, only to find out that they give you ONE redeemable code. So now I have the house sigils (which I do not care for) and I'm unable to download the PS4 Theme (which is what I really wanted). Bravo to the marketing team...

Re: EA Thinks ANTHEM Will Sell 6 Million Copies in Six Weeks

@Ironwright Fair enough, and I think you're right. Anthem's demo played like an afterthought: a messy private beta, with barely any context, a very convoluted menu and bunch of bugs. TD2 demo/beta was well planned and, while TD1 was a launch disaster, the game evolved quite nicely and it shows that the team behind TD2 cares about players' experience.

Re: Soapbox: Ubisoft Has Earned The Division a Second Shot

Not knowing too much about this game, I've purchased The Division a few weeks ago as it was on special (like $30 including all expansions). The game is good looking, combat is quite responsive but frustration built up as it felt like all the mobs were bullet sponges. So I did a quick search which basically told me that it's far better now than what it used to be...!? I cannot even begin to understand how bad it must have been at launch. I understand this is to be considered a RPG, but there are some darn limits to how many bullet I can snipe someone in the head before I lose my suspension of disbelief. I really hope The Division 2 does better, and reading about the title, it should. But like many, I think I'm going to hold for proper reviews before I pull the trigger on this one.

Re: Destiny 2 Streamers Have Been Trying to Solve an In-Game Puzzle for 24 Hours Straight

uMuffin

@Bad-MuthaAdebisi I got the season pass and after spending 10 hours with the new "content", I've now moved on. Forsaken was great, the forges... no so much. Bungie tried something new with this, which is commendable. But drip-feeding content like an I.V. is unfortunately not going to keep the patient alive for long. Reddit's sub has never been so active, but it's no longer people commenting on content, but rather on issues that have yet to be fixed since launch (bug, exploits and PvP matchmaking for instance). Fair to say that we got a good bang for the buck, but I'd be surprised to see Destiny 3 be the salvation of this declining franchise.

Re: Review: Mugsters (PS4)

Overcooked was absolutely hated in my household, too frustrating. The Escapists 2 was far too punishing to be enjoyable. Mugsters better be fun.

Titanfall 2: switching back and forth between time, this was a game changer, so much so that I would have loved to have more of it.

Doom: my favorite by far. A remake done just right!

Re: Missing Bloodborne Monster Finally Hunted Down

@Salt_AU And how is that different than, let’s say, Zelda games? I’m not against tough games, but like many, i do not enjoy constant punishment. When I have to go online to find ways to cheese fight a boss, then it’s safe to say that this game, as great as it is for others, is not for me.

Re: Missing Bloodborne Monster Finally Hunted Down

@KirbyTheVampire I'm surprised you didn't get trolled by the community to tell you to "git gud" yet. It's a shame, I think I could have liked both Bloodborne and the DS series, but I kinda have a life and getting good at gaming isn't exactly at the top of my priorities. I bought both games and returned them after a few weeks. Thankfully, there are other games out there that respect the "casual" players like us.

"But in the end Im glad sony made pro because microsoft is making scorpio, so there will be adequate competition on both sides."

I'm a true Sony fanboy but I'm starting to have doubts. I have a 4k UHD TV so yes I care about my console pushing everything it can... including a darn UHD disk player.

Re: PS4 Exclusive Alienation Loots Local Co-Op Patch

uMuffin

@Neolit Alienation plays very smoothly, even with the bumper triggers to shoot. I can't say that I'm as engaged in Alienation as I was in Dead Nation. Don't get me wrong, the new game is eons forward in terms of gameplay and graphics, but it's definitely missing the "oh shi..." moments that were present in the slower paced Dead Nation. Nevertheless, Alienation is still a good game.
