Wow! I was not expecting this to ever show up after that awful Heartland.
Division 2 is one of my favourite games of all time so I am booked on the first hype-train out of the station.
@captainsandman the most important for me was the deadzones. Can’t remember off hand but I think it was a 10% deadzone which is madness. Definitely make it zero. The other settings were all pretty much off for me, the Pro Settings were on a car to car basis.
@Olmaz absolutely I will for another Driveclub fan 😄 I’ll post a screenshot when I get home in a few days but in the meantime get on that trial as you’ll really love those long races through the countryside.
Definitely one of the better handling arcade racers in a long while, once you’ve tweaked a lot of settings and gotten rid of the deadzones that is. Also extra points for giving us settings for camber, suspension, anti-roll bars etc. Once you are all set the ability to control the car in the corners with the throttle and brake is sublime hilarious fun and means you can place the car precisely where you want it so easily.
I hesitate to say it but I think that the cockpit view is the closest we’ve come in years to the king that was Driveclub. By which I mean there’s quite the authentic sense of speed, couple that with the bumpy undulating roads and races of a decent length and this really does bring back great memories.
I haven’t come across any bugs but the amount of hard crashes is alarming. Multiplayer brought lots of “connectivity issues” that drove our crew mad trying to race together (turning off cross-play fixed it).
My biggest bugbear, and something that in this current generation really shouldn’t be an issue, is that the mirrors don’t work.
Apart from that, this is an easy 9/10 from me. It loses a point for having so few 2020+ cars and brands. I might give it a 10 if the endgame/updates are decent enough.
The first game was great fun but I thought it wasn’t well looked after once you’d finished it so these modes might help, extra trophies would too of course. Still day one on the next instalment whatever happens.
@Marquez it wasn't until the Portal popped into my head that I realised this would be great as a pick-up-and-play game between all the others. Glad you think so too and glad you're enjoying it, I'm looking forward to it at Christmas now.
I think I'll leave it for Christmas as it looks perfect to play on the PlayStation Portal.
I'm also over 120hrs into the platinum grind for Everspace 2 so in need of some short games for a while too.
I'm having a blast playing this at the moment, it's very quick 10-15 minute games of killing hundreds of dinosaurs with some great variation in the character/style you can play with. But yeah well worth a 7 at the moment with the repetitiveness, I imagine it will burn people out before the new modes arrive.
@StrawberryTurtle you're right but they are only good if they are not built as pure live service money-making machines. If they are genuinely created as a good game with a live service on top then they can survive but these ones built by boardroom meetings have to die.
Stop making live service games.
If this was single player then it could've lived forever and been sold forever. Now it's lost.
We've got to be over the hump with these games now surely?
@Smiffy01 @Beerheadgamer82 absolutely Driveclub one of the greatest arcade racers of all time for me, the sense of speed, especially in the rain, has yet to be beaten. I even thought the social features along the track were fantastic. If only they kept making more. It's the only physical game I have kept since day one.
Snowrunner: a brilliant puzzle game on wheels, one of my favourite games of all time. A must play.
Pretty handy on Sniper Elite 5 as I was going to repurchase it digitally this week for the DLC and now I don't have to. Sweet!
Are people hating on this purely because it's free somewhere else and/or it has a season pass? Not trying to stir anyone up but I've only just looked into this game and it looks fantastic fun.
@JB_Whiting ahh I see, didn't realise that but checking the trophy lists I can't see any for beating another team so not much to worry about there. Unless I missed it?
@Cashews now I've been watching some gameplay it does appear that it's the sort of game where randoms don't really matter as you're just mowing down dinosaurs (and how cool is that!!) rather than some sort of coordination puzzley thing so I'm going to pick it up and have some fun.
Dredge is winning my GOTY so far.
Just finished FF16 and apart from the spectacle of some battles it was lifeless and boring. Maybe I just can't see the appeal but FF15 was much better.
@number1024 indeed, or just let all consoles play all games and then it's up to you what company you buy them from, that would drop prices in a heartbeat!
Oh I think I've just seen the capitalist flaw in my plan.
Fantastic! I was hesitant waiting for the trophies but pre-ordered right now.
115hrs seems a long time to be not through the second playthrough as I was reading it would be half that. But hey if it's as good as you say it is then I can see why.

Re: Borderlands Studio Gearbox May Be Sold by Embracer Group, It's Claimed
How one company can cause so much damage through greed is quite astonishing really.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Baldur's Gate 3?
Is it weird to change your mind on playing a game in the brief seconds between voting and typing a comment?
Too much Red Bull today I think.

Obvious day one purchase as it's a game with four wheels in it but can I mention the lack of terrain deformation there?
Re: Great Scott! Go Back to the Future with PowerWash Simulator's Next DLC
This is one of those games I'd happily buy DLC forever for, as long as there are trophies of course
Re: PS5 Fans Divided on PlayStation Portal Handheld
As a one TV household it'll come in nice and handy.
I'm definitely day one.
Re: DIY Arcade Racer Wreckreation Shows Off Crazy Customisation in New Trailer
@leeadder1 one of my faves of all time was DD, I presume you've played Wreckfest?
Re: DIY Arcade Racer Wreckreation Shows Off Crazy Customisation in New Trailer
Looks fantastic. Definitely there day one.
Re: Feature: Saints Row Expansion Pass Review - Is It Worth Buying?
Aside from the Saint's Row part of this feature I like the idea of reviews for DLC like this and in such a good format. More please @ShogunRok

Re: Exoprimal Attracts One Million Players, Free Skin to Celebrate
One of the best games of the year I think.
Just hilariously daft shooty fun.
Re: PS4 Version of Snarky Xbox Shooter High on Life Found Loitering in PlayStation Backend
@Mitsui @Smiffy01 as long as you can turn it off I think it should be ok for a few minutes
Re: PS4 Version of Snarky Xbox Shooter High on Life Found Loitering in PlayStation Backend
@Smiffy01 fair enough, is it daftly childish enough to be up my alley?
Re: PS4 Version of Snarky Xbox Shooter High on Life Found Loitering in PlayStation Backend
@Smiffy01 what didn't you like about it?
Re: PS4 Version of Snarky Xbox Shooter High on Life Found Loitering in PlayStation Backend
This looks great fun so will definitely pick this up. If it is real of course.

@MikeOrator ahhh! That would explain that, thanks for replying. I didn't see any dates in the email.

Oooh a code for the closed beta just landed in my inbox, hell yeah!
EDIT: It's unplayable due to server maintenance

Already pre-ordered and even more excited now.

Re: Explore Hong Kong in Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown's First Gameplay, Beta Coming Soon
Looks pretty standard stuff but still going to be there day one, it's cars and if there's one thing I love...
Shame about that frame rate.

@Cashews it does look darn fun admittedly, just need to see how much fun it might be with randoms.
Re: Exoprimal's PS5, PS4 Platinum Looks Time Consuming But Not Impossible
@get2sammyb was just reading up on all the negative vibes around this to see if it was worth a buy and realised it was multiplayer, dang
Re: Exoprimal's PS5, PS4 Platinum Looks Time Consuming But Not Impossible
Judging by the rate at which they flood in in this part of a gameplay video it shouldn't actually be too bad.
https://youtu.be/CikoOI9gYBI?t=203
I might even give it a go.

Re: Feature: Summer Game Fest - What's It Like to Attend?
Awesome! A brilliant read, @LiamCroft.
This is the sort of article I'd really like more of in future from Push Square. Good job lads and lasses.
