@itsfoz I guess I'm addicted, but I do feel like I could do with a big news drop. I'm dying to hear what Sony's next acquisition will be and I wouldn't mind seeing a new PlayStation showcase. I would just be happy playing games, but I can check the news while working.
@TooBarFoo You don't seem to have outgrown videogames. Fair enough if you don't want to trophy hunt, but it's the same concept of rolling credits on a game, just taken to the extreme.
@Milktastrophe For me, 100% save files are not as satisfying as a plat, but it can be an extra step for a game I just can't get enough of. Sleeping Dogs was a game that even after getting the platinum and 100% I was still enjoying. Most games push you past the limit of still enjoying the game to complete them fully.
@AFCC I haven't got round to Elden Ring yet. As far as Sekiro goes, I found getting to the end was a challenge in of itself, but I'm not far off the platinum. I know I could do it. I really think almost anyone can complete these games, you just have to have the attitude of always giving it one more try. It's refreshingly old-fashioned, rather than feeling like you are basically on rails at a theme park in most games.
@JJ2 Thanks for your comment. This is a really weird generation. It kind of feels like a reflection on our current times. It's great to finally be done with that uncertainty and be able to move on like you say. In the last year I started watching more TV and movies mainly down to the fact that I couldn't bear the loading screens any longer knowing that there was an alternative out there!
@grdz I definitely will play it at some point. I'm struggling to find any gaming time at present even though I just got hold of a PS5, so I doubt I'll get close to playing it for at least a year. There were a few things that killed my excitement for the sequel including not feeling part of the new generation, the game comign out on PS4 instead of being a PS5 exclusive, and the fact that games just aren't up to the quality level that they should be until after 6 months or so after release.
@BritneyfR_ee Disney ruin everything because they don't seem to understand the concept the value of scarcity. Also, if they put a bit more effort into each film rather than releasing 10 at once alongside 5 TV shows and 8 games, they might be able to retain some of the Star Wars magic. My hot take would be that the imagination of the fans is what makes Star Wars great and not necessarily the movies. If you watched them as a kid and bought the toys and discussed Star Wars with your friends, you are getting a much different experience to someone who just watches the movies today and is left wondering what all the fuss is about.
@middyone I should have been clearer. What I was thinking was more about games on PS5 in general. The best games will probably sell more as PS5s become more widely available. I refuse to get any PS5 game on PS4. Now I have a PS5 I have a huge backlog and Horizon is not really even much of a consideration. I probably would have played it by now if I had managed to get a PS5 at launch. I personally prefer the huge sales at launch rather than a slow burn, because I enjoyed the steep discounts we got on PS4 for games 6 months after launch.
@Stragen8 I love going for platinums in the games I really love, but it's definitely a trade-off as it means I have less time to play a wider variety. I am planning to platinum Astro Bot, Kena, Nioh 2, and Ghost of Tsushima, which are my first PS5 games, but after that I might not go for that many platinums.
@AFCC I got pretty close to the platinum for Sekiro just by playing it through to the end and by doing the save trick, but I put about 70 hours into the game and I would have to do another playthrough to get the platinum, so I stopped playing it. I might play it again one day in the future, and at that time I can maybe go for the platinum.
Cite your source and consider the variables. First of all most people who buy this kind of game are going to be hardcore, so it's not a surprise that the platinum percentage is quite high. Secondly, how is the information being collected? When I got my PS5 somehow my permissions changed and I was no longer sharing my trophy information. If it is default to not share the data, then only people who care are likely to enable that.
Crazy Taxi is a very limited concept and is not a good basis for a "supergame" it could be a minigame in a Yakuza supergame. Maybe they should just make a new IP set in Japan and make that their supergame.
@colonelkilgore I just got my PS5, and actually, I forgot that there was a second Horizon game. The first one was in my top 5 games on PS4. There are so many great games out there I have to catch up on before I get round to Horizon Forbidden West (hopefully on discount). Sequels just don't excite me unless it is a game series that I absolutely love. I have loaded up a lot of games including Nioh Collection, Ghost of Tsushima and I have Lost Judgment waiting for me before I even think about playing HFW. I have played my PS5 for about 2 hours in total putting an hour into both Astro Bot and Kena Bridge of Spirits. I have spent far longer than that on optimizing the system and getting my physical layout right and tidying up my basement.
@MightyDemon82 6 was fully-voiced, and was my first experience of the series. Every other entry just feels cheap, and it feels like a major stumbling block for the series to go truly mainstream, because there is so much potential.
@OmegaStriver Well, there are only so many people in the market for a live-service game, so only the very best games will find a market. The problem is that these games are designed to take up a lot of time, so if you have a life, you can only play one at most. There are enough single-player games out there to last me years before I need anything new. If it gets too bad, I can just retire as a gamer.
@MightyDemon82 Turn-based combat is just not a good choice for Yakuza, which is all about kinetic, heart-racing combat. it is now just about waiting for ages for cool-at-first animations that soon wear thin. Also, not being fully-voiced is unforgivable.
@MightyDemon82 6 was my first Yakuza game and I absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, none of the older games compare with the quality of presentation and gameplay and systems, and that really detracts from the other games. 0 has a such a great story that I can almost ignore those problems. 7 reversed the freedom of going into fights seamlessly and fights spilling into shops etc. I only played the demo for 7, but I will probably get round to it eventually if I can psyche myself up and find it on steep discount. It's a shame that they changed the combat to turn-based, because everything looks amazing, apart from I can't understand why they went from fully voiced in 6 to the annoying text-only sections in 7. I have mainlined all of the Yakuza games apart from 6, for which I got the platinum, and 0, which I have almost completed. I do plan on getting back to all of the games and at least finishing the substories, but honestly there are just so many of them! Next stop will be Lost Judgment!
@MightyDemon82 I love Yakuza, but I'm struggling to catch up on the old ones as I don't have that much free time for games and often I don't even feel like starting another Yakuza game. I started 4 about a year ago, then went back to it and it was the next game on my list. Now, I got invited to buy a PS5, so I did and now Lost Judgment has jumped ahead along with a few other games that take advantage of the PS5 hardware.
@mrtennis1990 What do you mean? I would just say that it is a game that is quite difficult to stop by a deadline, so I would say it's best to play it when you can extend your play session by half an hour to 1 or two hours.
@SlySnake0407 I think the Bungie Acquisition signals a new option for acquiring studios/developers and Sony could keep Sega or Square Enix multiplatform after an acquisition.
@sanderson72 It's just a shame to play any game without trophies. I could play on my daughter's switch, but in reality I'm not going to get round to this game as I have Nioh 2, Ghost of Tsushima, and probably a couple more samurai games to play first.
Anything Samurai gets my attention. I'll definitely keep my eye out for this, but I would prefer to play this on the go with a new PlayStation handheld just for remote play.
The Witcher Netflix show has made me interested in the game. I slept on it before mostly because it's a 100 hour game. If the yPS5 version is good I might check it out eventually. I already have a PS5 backlog (and I haven't got my hands on mine yet) to add to my PS4 backlog.
It might be difficult for subscription services to make money without these types of renewals. It costs a lot of money to have enough content to retain engaged subscribers.
@clianvXAi Presumably they have played the game already and it's just the meta challenge of doing the same thing quickly. I personally don't get let's plays for story games that you want to play. I do appreciate that the right people doing let's plays feels like playing with your friends, but you could just play with your friends!
@PaperAlien I don't care for speed running, but it has to be about the speed that it takes a player based on their skill in the game. I think the glitch runs are maybe just a fun thing some people enjoy.
@tameshiyaku I guess the logical move would be to use the same animation studio that made Shenmue. I'd prefer something that isn't too stylized, so I'd be happy with the same style. Have you read the web manga put out by Sega? I quite like the style there. I'm not particularly knowledgable about anime, but I am very quick to disregard anything that I don't like the art style for. I love Japanese stuff, but I hate the weebs and the really weebie stuff. Maybe 80% of anime is utter trash, just like western animation.
@TheNomadLad I would have been happy to pay Sony an extra 100 big ones just to avoid the stress of not knowing when I could get hold of one, but the mark-up for a scalped console is so ridiculous. Then you are left trusting someone who is unscrupulous by nature to actually send you the thing and in good condition.
I finally ordered one today via PlayStation direct. I signed up a few months ago and focussed on other things in my life aside from gaming and had the attitude that I will get one when I get one. Good luck to you!
Setting watchdogs would be the best way to get me to buy a new Watchdogs. Watchdogs legion had a perfect setting of London, but I couldn't stomach the concept for the rest of the game.

Re: Streets of Rage Movie in the Works, Written by John Wick Creator
@JB_Whiting I see what you did there, it was a master system stroke
Re: Streets of Rage Movie in the Works, Written by John Wick Creator
The fact that Sega are getting into movie adaptations so much makes them seem that much more enticing as an acquisition prospect for Sony.
Re: Streets of Rage Movie in the Works, Written by John Wick Creator
I think Streets of Rage would make a better Anime
