Re: Talking Point: Do You Fast Travel in Open World Games?

For me, it all depends on what mood I'm in. If I feel the need to get through a specific quest, then I'm focused on that and am not really looking to fast travel.. Otherwise I'm like "oooh, that's shiny, what's that about!", or, I just want to take in the landscape and see what adventures I can find. For Skyrim I definitely tended more towards just going out and exploring than I do for Fallout 4 - but that's obviously a subjective thing.

@kyleforrester87 I LOVE that game and the characters. So outside of the box... True story: I had never played FF IX until within the last year - and I started with FFII on SNES. Needless to say, it is my favorite after FFII (IV). If only all the FF games could be ported on to ps4. I see no reason why this doesn't happen - I feel like its money left on the table, as people would buy the games, and I wouldn't think it would take a whole lot of effort to make happen.

The PS VR poses many interesting questions- the least of which being "how well could it sell?". More important are the philosophical ramifications, and not so much the utilitarian or economic. I have little doubt that the device will provide for fascinating gaming experiences, but at what cost (not monetary, but subjective) and to what limit? Obviously, as someone who owns a PS4 and spends a considerable amount of time each week playing video games these may seem like ironic, or hypocritical questions for me to pose. But maybe the VR is the technological marker where some cognitive dissonance starts to really take place when asking, has technology gone too far?
