@Shredderlovespizza I don't even know why console gamers think that bugs, crashes and glitches only happens on PC especially after they experienced CyberPunk 2077. This is the developers fault and not the hardware.
@Robocod When did I told you Sony is the only publisher keeping games off from another platform? I already said that both Sony and Microsoft are guilty of timed exclusivity deals. I also never owned an Xbox. I mainly play games on PC right now. So it's clear to me that you just really hate Xbox/Microsoft.
Instead of using the same criticism to both Sony and Microsoft. You resort to comparing an acquisition to a money hatting strategy thinking it will make Sony look like the good guy.
@Robocod I already explained that those third party games will become first party games once Microsoft or Sony acquire a publisher/studio. They will run the studio and eat the cost. So they have every right to make it exclusive. What's not to understand about it?
Both Sony and Microsoft are guilty of timed exclusivity. If you think Microsoft money hatting third party games on 360 era is bad. How come you're not applying the same logic to Playstation?
I almost fell asleep while playing The Medium. But the reveal trailer for Silent Hill 2 remake looks promising. However, promotional video more often than not doesn't reflect the final product. Well, at least there is still Townfall to look forward to.
@Robocod Because when Xbox or Sony buy a publisher or a studio. The IP they will acquire from the acquisition will become first party games. So they have the right to make those games exclusive to their platform. While paying up third party developers to block a multiplatform game from releasing to another console is just moneyhatting.
Three years of development and money all went down the drain. It's still a good thing that they didn't continue the scrap project just to get their investment back. At least, we still have Jedi Survivor to look forward to.
It's a game about a cat and published by AnnaPurna, which is known for puzzle games. So I didn't really expect Stray to be gameplay heavy.
I think the developers did a great job on this game. They took an idea that should suck in theory and turn it into an enjoyable experience. But to each their own.
>Bought the same game twice
>Still got accused of wanting free stuff. Because you don't want to pay the developers another $60/$70 just to toggle the game settings from the option menu.
I hope the people defending this anti-consumer practices actually bought another copy/PS5 version of games with free upgrades.
A prequel with Joel and Tess would have been better. But we all know they remake TLOU1 because of it's upcoming TV show adaptation.
The show would attract new players for the game. However, TLOU1 already sold 17M. Majority of the people who will buy the remake are already fan of the game. Despite of the upgraded visuals, nostalgia is the main selling point of this remake.
@WallyWest It is an exception because update patches are downloadable and it wouldn't cost the developer a whole production team. if other developers can give free upgrades, why should Atlus and Sony be an exception?
Good advice. But I will wait for GoW Ragnarok on PC and the graphics mods from the community will be free.
@NEStalgia These publishers and developers are coming up with new ways to resell the same game. Before, resolution bumps and unlocking 60fps mode are called update patch. But now they are called PS5 version, So developers can resell it again
@WallyWest Why are you even comparing video games to other forms of media? Do you really think it will cost Sega a whole production team for a mere resolution bump and 60fps patch? Even Ubisoft are giving "free" upgrades.
@Akila_24 I didn't know you can just download hardware upgrades now from the PS store lol.
To be fair, P5 Royal is already available for the PS5 via backwards compatibility. However, they should have just offered PS4 owners an upgrade path, if the costume DLCs are the only thing they added. It seems that the only incentive in buying games on day one is just to play it first. How many versions do you need to buy to get the definitive experience? We have director's cut, remaster and remake.
@twitchtvpat Same energy as if you don't like what you're seeing in the comment section, then don't read it.
@KilloWertz Looking at the official trailer. It seems ND put all of their resources to the art/visual department but bare minimum at everything else. I even need to read the label remaster and remake on the comparison video because there are parts where I can't tell the difference. I highly doubt this will be the final product, if ND "rebuilt" everything from the level design and gameplay mechanics, and not just the visuals. Frame by frame, it looks exactly the same game to me. Almost copy-pasted. Now, whether it's a good thing or not depends on their opinion.
The visual upgrade seems to be the effect of the new art direction. If this was on PC. I would think that the PS4 version is running on low to medium settings, while the remake is set on high to ultra.
They also focus more on cutscenes and darker environments. Around the 9:14 - 9:17 mark. The gameplay look similar to the leak. First time players will have a great time though. I'll probably pick this up on PC when it goes $20 below.
This TLOU1 remake appears to be a remaster of the PS4 version, which was a remaster of the original PS3 game, if the gameplay leak is true. This is a far cry from the FF7, Mafia 1, and RE2/3 remakes. I thought the remake would be TLOU2 quality but It almost look exactly as the PS4 version with minor visual upgrade. (in-game wise)
The same people defending the $70 price will certainly hold out until the game's price drops to $20. Because they themselves cannot justify the full price for a remake.
Well, at least the PC gamers will get the best version possible without paying for the same game three times.
Not surprising. Sony is planning to create 10 live service games by 2026. That's a lot and will probably eat up a lot of their resources. They probably need more studios to make this possible.
@ryanburnsred Yup. The only time I will adjust my game settings is when launching the game for the first time. After that, it's just plug and play. Playing RDR2 on PC with max settings is night and day compared to my PS4 Pro. It actually look like a remaster or even a remake with how much graphical improvement PC is capable of compared to console. But again when it comes to price to performance, nothing can beat consoles.
@IonMagi Well, the fact that you can buy a third party M.2 SSD for your PS5 is proof that there's nothing special about it. But props to Sony and Xbox with how cost-efficient their consoles are for the market.
Returnal is perfect for PC. It will probably sell as much as Days Gone and HFW.
Of course. It is a technical error. Their upgrade and discount calculation tool was probably made by accident and the long detailed response from Playstation support outlining the upgrade path was certainly a mistake.
@Neverwild I don't think so. Companies will usually publish a statement saying there is an issue with their server or application, and they are doing their best to resolve it. Plus, subscribers did receive an email or response from Playstation support outlining the upgrade path.
Sony has been awfully quiet about this issue. Every report comes from the subscribers themselves.
@KilloWertz I don't know. I think Sony should have implemented the upgrade path before they presented the "loophole" and not after. They didn't place any restriction on the subscription stacking. So people will naturally take advantage of it.
This is pure madness from Sony. But they'll probably back-pedal if there's enough backlash. I highly doubt this is a back-end error or bug, since they could have release a statement to ease the worries of the subscribers instead of having them call customer support in droves.
This is probably running on a high-end PC and already rendered. Developers already have the technology to create ultra-realistic graphics. But why would they do it when only a small percentage of people could run it. It is just not commercially viable right now. But the future of gaming in terms of graphics is exciting though. I think Sony is one of the few gaming publisher who prioritize graphics over anything else.
@TommyNL
Well, that's why Sony should have put restrictions in place. Of course, people would want to take advantage of a loophole. Similar to promos and sale because it would save them money in the long run. Seriously, they couldn't see this happening?
@Robocod Right. Now Sony have several people feeling buyers remorse. These people would normally hesitate subscribing to PS+/PSNow but because it was such a good deal to pass. They didn't think twice buying multiple codes.
It's Sony fault for not setting up restrictions and conditions. They could have only allowed a maximum of three years conversion and confirm a cut-off date. But instead they just deactivated the "loophole" without announcing it first. It's not about Sony closing the loophole, but rather the lack of proper communication is the main reason why people are upset.
@jly1987 Well, I'm basing it on my experience with the game. The fps stuttering (merely seconds) are only minor inconveniences and doesn't ruin the game. I've experience the same thing with Days Gone when I was playing it on my PS4 Pro, but it didn't really bothered me at all.
@jly1987 I'm not sure about PS4/PS5 but it runs well on my PC. There are times when the fps stutters or dips, but it doesn't affect my gameplay at all.
@mattb2020 Yeah, and that darn cliff. Margit's attack range is pretty wide plus the bridge, made it harder to avoid his offense. I fell from the bridge and he is still fighting my spirit jellyfish 😂. I'll probably find better equipment and level up some more before fighting that fugly b*stard again.
I've only played 5 hours in total, already at level 27 but I still got my ass kicked when I fought Margit. This is easier than Sekiro tbh, especially with the co-op, spirit summon and the open-world.
@Mjoen The microtransaction price for the cars are still ridiculous, regardless if the "complains" were knee-jerk reactions. It would have been better if Sony made the microtransaction accessible to the reviewers. So, we would have details about it. @Would_you_kindly I already expected that microtransactions will be added since GT Sports had it as well. But $40 upwards for virtual cars? it's insane imo, especially for a full price game $70.
I really wonder how much time will you need to grind, and earn enough credits to buy those legendary cars. It is also convenient that the cars will be rotated. So, you might not have enough time to grind and buy the car that you wanted. The microtransaction would have certainly affected the review scores.
@Would_you_kindly Well, according to the article, the microtransactions was added in the post-launch update. So, I think everyone even the reviewers are finding it out just now.
@Col_McCafferty Because they designed their games that way.
In an interview with Gamespot, From Software president Hidetaka Miyazaki explained the reasoning behind this design decision. (Punishing difficulty)

We feel if there’s different difficulties, that’s going to segment and fragment the user base. People will have different experiences based on that [differing difficulty level]. This is something we take to heart when we design games. It’s been the same way for previous titles and it’s very much the same with Sekiro.”‘
@Niktaw Complaining about the difficulty of Elden Ring or any FromSoft games is like complaining that a horror game shouldn't be terrifying because it's too scary for them.
@Col_McCafferty So what if it's a PS centric website? I'm just calling you out over the hypocrisy of your statement. It's just funny that you call FromSoft fans a cult group. When PS fanboys will harass anyone with a negative comment about PS games and Sony,
@danlk1ng Exactly, FromSoft has developing their games for a specific genre and niche gamers. The game has a punishing difficulty, but you can learn the enemies attack pattern by observing them, and yet people are treating the game like it's rocket science lol.
Video games are meant to be challenging. It's the reason why there is a losing and winning condition in almost every game.
FromSoft has been developing their games with punishing difficulty, but people still manages to complete the game. If you find the game time consuming, then play something else or if you only want to play the game for the story, then just watch video game walkthrough or cutscenes on YT. It's no different anyway.
Why do I feel like Sony overpaid for this acquisition? $3.6B for one developer with only one current IP. Given Bungie's track record. I wonder how long will it take for them to buy back their company/IP and become independent again.
