Re: That Borderlands 3 Reveal Was Just a Snazzy New Trailer

BrettAwesome

I am excited! And I love open worlds! But this year has actually made me a little bit less excited than before it was even revealed. I began a second playthrough of BL2 because it got the pro patch. Then Borderlands GOTY because it was dirt cheap on psn, and then RAGE2 because that was cheap at a local retailer. RAGE2 feels a LOT like Borderlands, with the setting and general atmosphere. I'm absolutely going to play BL3, but at this point my eyes are on The Outer Worlds

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo Switch Lite Signals the Need for a PS4 Super Slim

BrettAwesome

The ps4 slim was already die shrunk from 28nm to14nm. The pro is 14nm too. The new zen2 and navi chips are the first products (except for vega7) to utilize 7nm tech. Shrinking existing hardware down to 7nm with only 18 months left before next gen arrives, I think simply won't come attached with any major financial gains. Keeping the 14nm assembly lines up and running will probably be less costly. My bet is they'll be keep making the slim for a couple more years. If they decide to shrink a ps4, I can only see it make sense with the ps4pro. But the thought of a standard ps4 being shrunk to 7nm is a fascinating thought though. That thing could potentially work as a portable. Slap on a 1080p screen and Bob's your uncle

Re: Rumour: Is Watch Dogs Legion the Anticipated Third Instalment?

I just wish it took place somewhere else, with nice weather and such. Chicago I could live with because you could venture outside the city limits. But (and this is absolutely only a matter of personal taste) I have a hard time getting excited about the prospect of the British countryside on a typical grey, cloudy day. Well, it might just be that I'm much too pessimistic. It might all work out in the end.

Re: Cuphead Still Isn't Releasing on PS4, But It Will Come to Tesla Cars

@m42orca
Well, I own a Switch, and I love it. And seeing as it's the soon to be second best selling console, I wouldn't call it irrelevant either, right? And Cuphead runs just fiiiiiine on that one. You might not beg for a port, but it sure seems like you're begging for others to join your hate campaign. Looks like it ain't happening, though 🀭

@thedevilsjester
Yes you did!
"It could be a make-or-break for people, but it might also be positioned in a way that makes sense, for example if all PS5 games were ALSO compatible with the PS4 so that the PS5 was just another (bigger) refresh like the Pro, then the price is less of an issue because people will eventually upgrade"
No they won't ! Not if they don't have to. Besides, you're killing a whole gen by gimping it, if all the games have to run on PS4 too. There will be plenty of games the PS4 simply can't run, because of the weak cpu.
Maybe you're just not quite as good at this market analyst stuff as you would like. I mean, it does come across as slightly self important, the way you choose to "teach to the masses". It just rubs me the wrong way, but maybe it's just me. I just think your arguments have to be rock solid if you do.

Re: Soapbox: Days Gone Is the Biggest 180 I've Ever Done on a Video Game

I...Well, I just loved it from the get go. I found the shooting quite realistic. Hit and a whole lot of miss. Hitting a moving target in real life is very difficult. I loved the atmosphere, the visuals, and something I haven't given much thought in other games, the sound design. Perfect low end dynamics, excellent surround. I get some of the criticism, but there's just something about this game that works for me on so many levels. The perfect blend of Mad Max, Red Dead 2 and The Last of Us. It may sound slightly nuts, but this is one of my absolute favourite games now.

Re: Plucky Publisher Devolver Digital Schedules In Its E3 2019 Press Conference

BrettAwesome

Devolver claimed to be the good guys. The guys who want stand up business practices and a generally transparent and honest approach to the industry and their fans. Next up one of devs behind Shadow Warrior 2 praises ps4pro for all its power. Finally it releases with absolutely no ps4pro support, because of time constraints. Meaning Devolver pushed it out the door before it was done. To add insult to injury, some programmer or whatever checked the "ps4pro enhanced" box, so the game can't even make use of boost mode.
I've never truly forgiven them for that betrayal.

I paid good money for that game.

Re: Round Up: Everything We Know About PS5 So Far

Now we just need the cpu, gpu and memory specs. The good stuff. If the leaks are correct, we are looking at an 8 core/16 thread zen2 cpu with a base clock of 1,6ghz and a boost clock of 3,2ghz. And a lightning fast custom Navi10 lite gpu. This machine is going to be amazing!
