@Northern_munkey my mental health probably is playing more a part in my enjoyment being dulled in D4. I’ve never been one to play D&D type games and when maths and stats are heavily involved in games I’ve instantly found myself turned off attempting these type of games. I’m sticking with this new Barbarian build I got elsewhere and hopefully I can settle in to really going at these increased hordes that seem to have popped up on the map. Anyway, you have a great weekend yourself mate!

Diablo 4, my first Diablo game and I think I am enjoying it. Just focused on the story mode during the two weeks since purchase and I keep having nagging doubts whether I am having fun. I’m sure there’s more to the game once you’re past the story but I feel like there’s a similarity to each dungeon I go through. The game itself looks fantastic and it runs really nicely but I’m hoping to get more out of the game now that I have beaten the daughter of hatred. I stupidly reset my build after the story was over and now I’m left confused with no build trying to work out which barbarian build to use for tier 3.

Ralph Inseon has such a gravely voice and he’s superb as Lorath. Caroline Faber as Lilith is fantastic. If the Game Awards are doing a voice actor award they should both be involved for the running. Also, there’s a cut scene towards the end of the game where there’s a huge battle and it was one of the best cut scenes I have ever seen in a game

@NinjaNicky medics don’t revive, tanks which can’t stay stationary when in need of repair, condor pilots who can’t fly but do anyway, vehicle drivers who drive off without letting others jump in, pilots who fly planes directly into capture points thinking they’re flying in to the twin towers, that one person who always mentions camping or the team being noobs, those who don’t know how to redeploy in HZ and are only one still alive……

….and my current gripe “no one defending the tunnel in Redacted”. I do love this game though despite its many many flaws. On every day playing it Nicky, if you see me in game do say hello

@Fiendish-Beaver I foolishly stuck to only mastering one section of each characters skill set so by the time I got to the tower level I didn’t have certain powers for each character to make the boss battles easier. Had to spend a few hours going through the sewers and getting each character level’s up to lvl 50. The hardest bosses in that tower were the two robots at the beginning. Infuriatingly strong

Re: Poll: Did You Buy a PS Portal?

I don’t think my internet would be fast enough. It’s the copper wire kind and the router can’t go any further than metres from the phone line which then has to send a wireless signal, from the kitchen, up two floors to my room and then would have to no doubt come back to wherever the Portal unit is situated. If it’s guaranteed to work for me with that setup I would consider getting one this Christmas but I doubt it will. Be nice to play games on a handheld again like the good ol days of Vita with Spelunky, Everybody’s Golf etc

Just paid a large clump of the PSVR2 off, bought the mother a new carpet for her front room, paid for a joiner to fit an interior door and now have no cash for a few weeks. So no, old Jim isn’t getting £70 out of my debit card any time soon . I’m stuck with Battlefield 2042 and trying to be the best that I can be

Believe, word up son

I’ve been playing They Are Billions again to get all the maps as a save got corrupted and I recall enjoying the larger map and the one in winter. It’s the kind of game that is so challenging in a way that you have to be thinking two steps ahead of each attack. I always seem to switch off and end up watching a squad of men mowing down zombies when I should be building up the population, army, defences etc.

Other than that I will be playing Battlefield 2042 for the rest of the weekend having just finished watching Resident Evil Death Island. The new map is brilliant, a positive shot in the games arm compared to the previous maps that have been right stinkers in all honesty.

The thought that in the future I will be potentially facing having to wait months for a new games price to drop via the PSN sales and not having the cheaper options like Amazon, ShopTo etc around sickens me. They can moan all they like about how expensive games are to make but when you take away the options for consumers to be able to shop around for cheaper purchases you’re going to face resistance from us all.
