@riceNpea truthfully though, even with a decent TV do you really feel its worth it right now? I'm assuming it will come onto its own with some big upcoming games but at the minute the gains seem pretty trivial

@get2sammyb yeah there's benefits but this is aimed at the 'enthusiast' who has a decent setup and has been enjoying the quality mode at 40fps for a while now. I truly want to care about this but I'm more than open to change my mind and maybe it'll be gta6 that truly shows off the hardware

The thing is a decent TV also improves the base ps5... Anyone buying the pro without at least a decent 4k 120hz tv needs help

Tell you what guys, first impressions in here aren't exciting me about the pro. Sounds like a few games are decent but unless it has the pro logo you have no idea your playing the 'enhanced' version or not...

@JB_Whiting appreciate the honest feedback 👍 I've a similar tv setup to you which is great for comparison. Really need to support this fully going forward

@JB_Whiting have you tried any of the games that these guys were calling a remarkable improvement? Refreshing to hear a real experience and I'd love to be convinced to buy one but my fears are now your reality unfortunately

No interest whatsoever in replaying games from the last 4 years with slightly better graphics. Maybe if gta6 is unplayable on ps5 I'd consider it but I'm guessing it'll run just fine

@MrPeanutbutterz true it was expensive but at the time a decent bluray player alone was starting at £500 so it was a bit of a bargin for movie fans.

@nomither6 have to agree with you, infact I've definitely played more ps3 games this year (through emulation) than I have ps5 games. Says it all really

@Northern_munkey thats interesting, for me the ps3 was such a leap forward with the introduction of hd, bluray, a hard drive and even wireless controllers that it was hard not to be impressed and is kinda the blueprint for what we have now. Actually your right, I'm not really enjoying this gen all that much but it was the ps3 that started it all...🤣

@Northern_munkey Just out of interest what do you think was sonys worst gen? I have to agree with others that this has been by far the worst, there's new hardware releasing next week and i haven't got the slightest bit of interest in it despite being day 1 for everything since ps1 (apart from psvr2, they really s*it the bed on that one )

I've never really played these type of games, do I actually have to talk to these people or is it a text/gesture type of thing?

If people are stupid enough to pay it then why not? But then I'd never pay £70 for a game either, most day one games are around £55 physical and my limit for a digital game is about £30 max

@Andy22385 it's nice to see someone enjoying gaming and hopeful of where it's going 👍 I'm a bit more cynical and think it's a ***** show on all sides at the minute. For me they need to back up the new hardware with games tailored for it before I'm interested. A decent TV runs quality mode in 40fps so the gains aren't so obvious with this yet

@SteveJaye 100% this, 40ps fidelity mode is the sweet spot. The pro really isn't improving much on this

For me, to be wowed with the ps6 when it comes I need to give the 5 pro a miss. Not particularly impressed with it so far but coming from the 4 pro to the 5 was such a minor improvement that it ruins the generation a little. Faster load times and and little extra shine is not a generational leap imo but with the 5 pro we're just getting to play the games that we've recently played at a higher frame rate...

Does 77% rating it as OK (and above) qualify a huge hit? It was mediocre at best, guess I'm part of the 77%

@Frmknst if you can't tell the difference between 1080 and even 4k, never mind 8k, then it sounds like a you problem...

Dead space remake is great but played it on gamepass, wwe2k24 still makes this month pretty sweet though

@HughJasol I was having a clear out and sold my ps3 copy on ebay for £90 a couple of weeks ago, think the remake might have maxed out the price for now.
