Finished Ghost of Tsushima’s DLC. Eagle storyline was brilliant. So some cleanup on collectibles. Dusted off Tales of Arise. Forgot how much I hate the spike between enemies and bosses. But love the entire aesthetic of that game.
On Switch finally finished the demo for Triangle Strategy so I bought the whole shebang since I can’t get enough of it. So that and the first AI will keep me busy.
Still want more Weird West on GamePass as I loved what I played.
@somnambulance I’m happy to see someone else have the same thought! I’m leaning toward Switch because of my current life situation and work. But I’d love to earn the trophies for this on PS5!
I’ll finish up Stray and Ultra Age on PS5 this weekend before moving on to more No key Saves the World, or my second casual Elden Ring playthrough. Who knows.
Switch sees Neon White and AI Somnium Files
My Series S Weird West is calling me and I need to purchase the Hot Wheels for Forza. I hear it’s sublime.
@PenguinLtd I’ve tried with no success four times to get into breath of the wild. I don’t know why I don’t like it. I really want to, but part of me wonders if that hype is what ruined it for me.
@LiamCroft we are talking about an important opening scene of an almost decade old game that only the hardcore like us would find or see online. The casual first time Last of Us player won’t be along until the HBO series arrives, which is this is partly in preparation for if you consider the larger universe of cross media Sony wants to employ.
For some reason I chose to do the rng of GoW to get anchor fogs. It’s less frustrating this time around because I haven’t just played thirty hours of GoW prior. Between runs I’ll be knocking out Nobody Saves the World, playing Neon White on Switch, and being a filthy mobile gamer with Punishing Gray Raven as I need 2B, A2, and 9S in the crossover event.
These aren’t NFTs because NFTs are limited to being “unique”. If everyone can own or earn a 3D statue or whatever it is of say, Kratos, then it’s more like a little collectible figurine. I’d almost wish they’d take this to the next level and say you can order a real version of the model.
This, minus the wheel, was my GT7 experience. I love arcade racing because I race casually. Yet I bought GT7 launch day without rhyme or reason, with not having touched the series since the original. 45 hours later I’ll settle in for a few races a week and constantly try to improve my missions to Gold.
@DETfaninATL I couldn’t do it. When I saw I had 50k of 240k spirits I was not ready to spend hours pressing Square to reveal all the spirits throughout the city.
Working my way through Ultra Age, aka a poor man’s DMC. Then finishing up TMNT (2 stages left) and hoping to play the excellent RE2 PS5 native version. On Switch it’s a mix of Neon White and Little Noah Scion.
@BlackMayge everything you said resonated with me. Raising two infants leaves me with short pick up and play sessions. For the same reason check out Dungeons of Dreadrock on Switch. It’s a light puzzler you may enjoy with a slow pace and plenty of hints when you get stuck. I enjoyed all 5-6 hours with it and got it on sale for 5$ though I’d gladly have paid the 10$
Ghostwire Tokyo for me. TMNT as well, and trying to just grind money in GT7 so I can maybe get the legendary cars next go round in the shop. Otherwise a lot of Neon White and Little Noah on my Switch this weekend while holding my newborn.
@add286 I’d agree with almost all you said, but would add that spend enough time in the ER Reddit and you’ll see plenty of people pick apart the game. At one point there was a thread about how it stacked against other Souls games and Bloodborne and DS3 were often mentioned as just better designed. I think my issue with ER is that they took on a massive project and needed another year. There’s so much cut content that has been found because they clearly wanted to get this out. But yeah BB is peak FS design in many ways. Sekiro too.
I do like Spiders’ stuff. Greedfall was great and a nice game in the A space. I’ll be picking this up anyway so I don’t need a demo. How does this tie in with the new PSPremium every game over 35 requires a trial I wonder.
Phil Spencer doesn’t want to keep games from other platforms, this is true. He just wants to keep you in the dark for awhile lol. I mean I don’t blame them, but I thought it was evident what was console exclusive and what wasn’t with each intro.
Then it’s more RE4, Bioshock (aiming for the remastered version to be platinum #100 since Bioshock on PS3 was my first as well) and if I have time NG+ in Elden Ring.
@TheArt for me I felt the same finishing Elden Ring. I wasn’t quite sure what to play. It’s been three weeks and I still bounce between games and ultimately wind back up in the Lands Between for an hour or two.
I know turn based vs action divides a lot of the FF community, but DMC5 and DD are nothing to sneeze at. If the story holds up and I think it will, I’m okay with combat that’s not turn based. FF7 Remake was a great action oriented title which still felt like an evolution for the series in the right direction in terms of combat systems.
Last few menus in GT7, it’ll be in regular rotation anyway.
Beyond that I’m lost. Elden Ring left a hole in my gaming heart. Maybe some Ghostwire Tokyo, maybe Nobody Saves the World, maybe Outriders. Who knows. I’ve never played RE4, so I may finally dive into that classic on my PS5 since I know when the remake is coming. It’s basically the only mainline RE other than 6 I’ve never played.
Finally earned my Elden Ring platinum! Now I have a huge gaping hole to fill because nothing feels as satisfying as that world.
Moving on to finish the GT7 cafe, working my way through Nobody Saves the World, and I just bought Ghostwire Tokyo on sale.
On my switch I’ll occasionally hit up Dungeons of Dreadrock (fantastic puzzler) and One Piece 3 (I needed a mindless mosou). Also excited to play more of Ashen.
Maybe I’ll get back to GG Strive at some point too! Too much to play!
@Shepherd_Tallon that last two or three bosses are amazing in design and gameplay. Definitely take a break and come back and finish it. I just wrapped it up myself after worrying I was burnt out, only to contemplate starting a second casual playthrough. 😂
So what about cross save functionality for PS4 and Vita? Is that still safe to assume it works? It sounds like it does. And I suppose I will find out. I just restarted Shovel Knight and would love to bounce back and forth between the two systems.
This review almost has me convinced to give this a try. I’m not for games like Dead by Daylight either, so the fact that this is way more enjoyable means I may need to pick it up.
@UltimateOtaku91 I was really hunting for better armor in Elden Ring for a long time. My suggestion is progress the game and the side quests. Armor feels like it really kicks in and becomes abundant and varied mid game. Once I did several NPC quests and got to certain areas I found a nice array.
@BritneyfR_ee I’ve heard over and over again about Ghostwire being underrated. I think though your comments just solidified that I need to play it. I’m a little nervous about the collect a thon aspect as that can burn me out (looking at you Assassins Creed).
Elden Ring has me squaring up against the notorious Malena this weekend. Finishing up cafes in GT7, but really hooked on Nobody Saves the World right now.
On the side I’m ashamed to admit I bought One Piece 3 on Switch for 5 bucks. I’ve never watched the show but wanted a Mosou for on the go. Also everyone needs to check out Dungeons of Dreadrock. Phenomenal puzzle indie.
@MightyDemon82 haha I know what you mean with Axl. I main I-No and most players don’t come across her enough to know how to deal with what I do with her. But when they do I’m basically a mop for the floor.
Considering I just experience the birth of my son, I've now got two little ones at home, so if there is time between my lack of sleep, I will be working on becoming the Elden Lord in Elden Ring, taking a few more laps in GT7, or trying to wrap up the platinum in Shadow Warrior 3, which on PSNOW has made it worth playing. It's like taking the B team on Doom Eternal and asking them to make a smaller, fart joke filled game.
@MightyDemon82 That's awesome. I tried to really get good at GG, but only could make it to floor 7. I haven't touched it in months, so I can sense I'd be back down at floor 5 if I even tried.
Guess I will have to play the second one before the third comes out so I'm not lost in the deep lore and storyline. Hope I can finish before the 17th comes
Aiming to platinum Sifu and finish Elden Ring. Then little sprinkles of GT7 and Blood Hunt. I’m a sucker for vampires and the atmosphere. Lastly, if my child does make his arrival this weekend I’ll play some Triangle Strategy on Switch in between hospital naps and care.
It’s weird to read this praise on the back of hearing Sacred Symbols Chris Ray Gun praise the game. I tend to agree though. As an immersive sim it’s fantastic. Dishonored is my cup of tea for the steampunk aesthetic but Arkane makes great immersive games.
Great month again for me. I had not purchased any of these games, but wanted to play all 3. Sometimes I put a game on the backlog and don't buy it, but wishlist it to buy when I feel the time is right to buy. For me, these arrived before I could buy. If you're not a day and date guy with indie games, or with certain titles, you can eventually wind up with some decent plus backlog games.
We tend to buy immediately as gamers, even if we don't always intend to play, and on the other end can be risk averse as well to playing or buying smaller stuff, so Plus is perfect for that.
Blasphemous is an absolute gem of a metroidvania. And SCVI, maybe not the best SC, but a solid fighting game. I'll try Naruto as I have no inclination to pay for these types of games as I am not a fan of the series, but as part of the service I will take it.
Count me in. Hopefully I can be finished with Elden Ring by then haha. Bloodborne vibes are strong here, and I enjoy these more independent shots at Souls games (Mortal Shell gave me a good 25 hours of entertainment).
I love this month. I’m too cheap to shell out for yearly sports games so I’ll play for free when I can. I also love indie games so I’m happy to play anything. Gaming is an amazing hobby that everyone seems to hate lol.
I hate Battle Royale, but love Vampires, so I am going to check this out anyway. I've heard good things, and if it is something I can do as a breather between sessions of other games, I won't mind.

Overall for me, makes sense. Solid month as I enjoy FIFA when I can, and did not dive in the last few years. The other two are a great way to try something different out in the lull between major releases. I'm happy to play games like this I want to buy but prioritize purchases and budgets for other games instead.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 437
Switch will be me fighting the temptation to buy Triangle Strategy! My backlog is big enough! So probably more Little Noah.
PS5 sees the lovely Nobody Saves the World, RE2 Remake, and tons of Multiversus with my mate. Maybe more Tales of Arise too
On Series S I need to get back to Weird west.

Re: The Last of Us: Part I's Emotional Intro on PS5 Has Leaked
Feel like ND wants this to “leak” to perhaps garner faith from what I’ve seen is a very visceral reaction to this remake.

Happy for Strive, but also for Melty Blood. Loved it even though I didn’t get to sink the proper amount of time into it like I did Strive.

I’m all over the place with games. I’ve got a list of games to finish and ones I’m revisiting:
To finish:
Ghostwire Tokyo
RE4
GT7
RE2
Revisiting:
Elden Ring
Bloodborne
Nioh 2
