I looked at the user reviews on Metacritic on launch day and thought "No game deserves this" so I bought it then and there, from PSN (£34.99 when I could have got it for £21.99 online and waited a day for the post).
Survival isn't my genre (I'm MMORPG) and I'm up to the first mission where you activate your first wormhole portal and unlock a container with R2. Haters gonna hate. This is money well spent. The game is good.
@suikoden Shining in the Darkness, Shining Force and right up to Shining Resonance - all part of the same franchise yes. Famitsu gave this one an 8/9/8/8 if that's any help.
@andreoni79 HR is capped to 15 or 16 until you do your final Assigned Mission, then High Rank Missions open up and you get new Assigned Missions every few levels (HR 29, 39, 49 etc).
e.g. You'll be capped at HR29 until you complete the relevent HR29 level Assignment, but any xp you earn in the meantime is saved and added on once you pass that Assignment.
"...research has shown that ‘children and young people often play 18+ games before they reach this age’. - Burrows, NSPCC
"Then there is the added danger that a child might play this hideous game – perhaps a child who lives with violence, who has been beaten or watched parents physically fighting. How many nightmares will this game provoke?" - Esther Rantzen
Both very valid points imho. However the game is a provisional 18 Rating in the UK and very likely to stay that way. As a parent I'm against censorship and all for ratings enforcement. This includes letting your children access content they wouldn't be able to buy themselves as long as a responsible parent is there to explain things to them.
I don't think Sony can do any more than it already has (PS4 has pretty exhaustive Parental Controls built in). Quantic Dream, or any other developers for that matter, are artists so can do whatever the hell they want.
I've got a PS4 Pro and a 4K/HDR TV but I'm one of those gamers who has never tried VR. I watched your recent Skyrim VR videos and whilst it's good to know that all sorts of control options are available it's impossible to show me the big immersion factor.
But at this price I guess I might take a leap of faith. And it's my birthday next week so I'm hoping that'll cover the cost
I'm loving the immersion of being a gamer playing a gamer playing an MMORPG and the mix of ingame forums, emails and then using the actual operating system is brilliantly layered.
I'm brought back to the days when I was cutting my teeth in my first MMOs and the ingame forums for 'The World' are very reminiscent of their real world counterparts, complete with newbie questions, recruitment posts, even fan art.
They even nailed the price of VR headsets, though whether that price was added during the remaster or was contained in the original PS2 version I'm not sure.
My favourite bit so far? My player's player character is a Player Killer Killer, just like me when I was playing Legend of Mir 2, which was around the time the original .hack//G.U. PS2 version launched
I had no problems with it. It was emotionally intense and I was more impressed with how they got that across using some of the best facial motion capture I've ever seen on display.
Not something I'd want young kids watching though, perhaps Sony could get pro-active and stick their own ratings on clips before broadcasting them. Or a 'graphic content' warning beforehand.
Easily the most boring racing game I have ever played. I'm not even sure 'game' is applicable such is the purity of simulation, wherein lies it's true nature. Unless you're a voyeur with a car fetish and a camera, then you'll also love it. Or if all you ever do is decorate cars, then you'll love it too.
I think they still need to find a way to sell it. I might be a PS4 Pro owner but I'm still not sold on VR so maybe they need a rethink about how to market it.
I remember it for all the right reasons If you like a high quality grind in your RPGs The Last Hope offers one of the best in the business. It already looked pretty fantastic on XBox360 so it'll be interesting to see how much in the way of improvements they actually do. My PS4 Pro awaits further developments eagerly.
I tried the demo and cancelled my pre-order a couple of hours later. It left me with the impression that there are already better racers out there so what do I need this one for?
Dragon's Dogma arrived in the post so probably won't get around to much else. Have yet to fully properly start Shadow of Mordor so Shadow of War (and probably Shadow of WhateverComesNext) will have to wait.
I still have no idea what the game actually IS and end up more confused each time they release more information on it. So yeah, zero ****s indeed. Hope the reviewers can figure it out.
Some of my Pantheon (Guild) mates in Skyforge jumped back into Warframe recently. Like you guys I tried it and left it at launch time. Time to jump back in too methinks!
A demo is perfect for me, I've been on the fence between will it be too hard or will it be right up my street since it launched but itching to give it a try.
I don't know how much it costs a publisher to get a demo put up on PSN, but I'm grateful.
I miss my Forzas, and Crackdown looks great, but that's about it. I think Microsoft did a good job making sure that everyone knew how the XBox One X could benefit them even if they didn't have 4k TVs.
A trailer that actually acknowledges and tackles a divisive issue prior to launch is a ballsy move and rather rare. It's like someone in marketing watched Crazy People and took notes. Kudos.
I think Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness has been my most played RPG so far on PS4. I'll throw Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain and Grand Theft Auto V into the mix, a Far Cry here and there, it's the RPG elements in these titles that made me stick with them.
Also a shout out for Skyforge recently released on PS4. Not bad for a free MMORPG.
Rainbow Moon (£3.29) Marvel Ultimate Alliance Bundle (£19.99) Been waiting for a price drop on this for ages and Fallout 4 Season Pass (£19.99) Yes I checked, it's cheaper than all the discounted DLC separately by about £3.
For those having trouble equipping Arms and Legs, note that some chest pieces already include them (you'll see arms/legs already attached in the loadout screen for that chest piece), which means you won't be able to equip any more arms/legs if you have that chest piece equipped.
Also worth noting is Nomad Vehicle upgrades, once you have them in your inventory they'll be automatically equipped the next time you land on a planet and call the Nomad.
Decidedly not-overpriced by a factor of 10. This is a remastered PS2 game so I'm planning to pick it up eventually, but hopefully at around £29.99 later on. And I'm a Final Fantasy FAN.
Having said that there are avid collectors/fans out there who would probably buy a collector's edition but I think even some of them would balk at the price.
In the UK I went for the Maxtor M3 2TB External HDD from Amazon, around £67. Works a treat with the PS4 Pro plus it has a PlayStation Blue glowing light on it just as an added aesthetic bonus.
With my 2TB internal HDD and now this I 'think' I'm future-proofed until next gen. 3.9TB of it will be mostly backlog
I'll be there! Currently playing through the housing update which dropped yesterday, includes some epic new music for Group Dungeon boss fights and the new crafting writ system is taking me to places I've hardly touched in the 20 months since ESO launched.
Probably most excited about the new 'beastmaster' Warden class than anything else, there are a few hybrid Summoner/Archer players in the game already so clearly there's a demand for that kind of gameplay.
Pre-ordered this morning after reading a slew of early reviews, thanks for this video too as it shows a bigger diversity of RPG staples than I originally thought would be present.
I wonder how many/what proportion of us actually own PS4 Pros? Might be worth doing a poll on that too? I do but it's the External HDD support that's currently floating my boat, simply because I won't have to worry about running out of room like I've done the previous two generations.
"What's New" tests my patience most of the time, even on the PS4 Pro. Otherwise it's all good, generally I just press X and go straight into Elder Scrolls Online anyway
I'm still playing! I take the odd break now and again for other AAA titles that pass by but I always come back to ESO. Delighted that it's still going strong and getting such great support from Zenimax.
The new Warden Class? I used to love playing as a Beastmaster in FFXI, guess I'm going to have to shell out on an extra few character slots, been meaning to anyhow for the extra storage benefits.
@AlejandroMora I couldn't get to grips with Lords of the Fallen either, but in my case I'm not very good with that sort of gameplay as I have slow reactions. This looks a lot more like Technomancer which I can handle, i.e. looks a lot more forgiving and seems to have a much more lenient learning curve.

Thank you. Updating now in the UK.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 209
@brubeck Same here, haven't played anything else since it launched, loving it

Re: Feature: Are You Still Hooked on Monster Hunter: World?
162 hours in, 287 missions completed, Sword and Shield all the way.
LOVING IT.
Re: Poll: Will You Be Playing Monster Hunter: World This Weekend?
Installing to my PS4 as I type. Think PSN just went down for maintenance according to friend notifications popping up on screen in the meantime.
Re: PSX 2017: The Last of Us 2 Is 50-60% Complete, Gameplay at E3 2018

Re: Star Ocean: The Last Hope Looks Like a Slick PS4 Remaster in This Launch Trailer
Count me in, don't need much of an excuse to collect Battle Trophies, they're one of my favourite systems in any RPG.
Re: Guide: The Best PS4 Black Friday 2017 Deals in the UK
Nip over to Argos to check their gaming Black Friday, sort games by Price: Lowest First. They've gone a bit nuts.
e.g. The Last Guardian £12.99

Re: Final Fantasy IX Is Out Today on PS4 in Europe and North America
@AFCC After playing it, whenever you think Black Mage you'll immediately think of Vivi - he's one of the main Final Fantasy franchise icons for me.

Bought faster than you can say "Kupo" Kupo.

I'll be the only one here playing Skyforge then. (Destiny 2 is coming next week though).

Re: Persona 5 Is the Best RPG of All Time According to Readers of Famitsu Magazine
Most of my favs are on that list, the one notable exception for me is Skies of Arcadia - Famitsu gave it 33/40 at release way back in 2000.
Re: Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen Summons a PS4 Release Date in Japan
It's on my 'to get' list already. Cracking year for PS4 gamers. Been saying that since launch though.

I'm happy to wait as long as it takes, Rockstar games are always worth the wait.
Re: Star Ocean: Till the End of Time Launches Next Week on PS4 in the West
Anything under £20 is a bit of a bargain for this classic, 60-100 hours of gameplay (Battle Trophies - gotta catch 'em all)!

Re: Final Fantasy XV Is Getting Another Big Update This April
Haven't really started playing it yet, kinda waiting for them to finish it. A bit like Diablo III.
Re: AereA Is Diablo with Instruments on PS4
Reminds me more of Torchlight than Diablo but for me that's a good thing. If it has the depth of Torchlight then I'm probably in.

Re: Mass Effect: Andromeda's Pre-Order Trailer Gives First Glimpse of Multiplayer
I saw it was 'only' £54.99 on the PSN store. A few online retailers are taking pre-orders for physical at £39.85 without all the early bird content.
I took the cheap route.
