Re: Talking Point: What's the Background Behind Your PSN Username?

Giygas_95

I decided mine before I started using Giygas_95 for all my online profiles. I chose Supersonic_Flyer because at the time I was really into flight games. In fact, HAWX was the reason I got my PS3. I might change to Giygas_95, but I'll more than likely just leave it alone since my Nintendo ID is also Supersonic_Flyer.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 242

Giygas_95

I'm hoping I can finish up Red Dead Redemption before the sequel arrives! It's my first time playing the game, and though I had a rocky start with it, it's really grown on me! I just crossed into Mexico and did the train defense mission. I also pre-ordered the digital special edition of RDR2 so I'd have the Winchester 1897 pump shotgun as soon as the game begins.

I'm also playing Mark of the Ninja on Switch. I love that game! We need more stealth games on that platform.

And then there's Luigi's Mansion on 3DS. I need to finish up the hidden mansion which I've just started.

Also I need to finish Mega Man 11 at some point, but it probably won't be this weekend.

Re: Is This Our First Look at Red Dead Redemption 2's Dual Discs?

Giygas_95

@slampog Yeah...I ended up going with the digital special edition. I don't want to have more boxes lying around, in fact I wish I had gotten more games digital instead of physical since they take up space on your HDD either way. Also I didn't want to spend the extra money. The reason I went with the special edition though?

I love the Winchester 1897 so much, and I wanted to have it available as soon as I started the game. That gun is so sleek while having that old, classy feel, and I want a real one so badly.

Re: Spider-Man PS4 Adds Brand New Features with 1.08 Patch

Giygas_95

@carlos82 Exactly. At least with cutscenes though you can usually use YouTube, but if I just want to replay a particular mission I don't know why I'm not allowed to without restarting the game.

@get2sammyb Ghost Recon Wildlands has that feature (and I think other Ubisoft open world titles do as well), and honestly all mission based open world games should in my opinion.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 Pre-Load Starts at the End of the Week on PS4

Giygas_95

I don't want to spoil anything by watching trailers, but I'm also having trouble getting hyped at all for this game. The first game is so far a boring slog to me. I just can't decide if I really want this or not... there's other games I could spend my money on.

I love Western movies, and I really want to be excited for this game...but if it's gonna front load the main story with loads of filler and have awkward controls, I doubt I'll bother with it.

The file size isn't helping its case either.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 - The Best CoD of the Generation

Giygas_95

I'm one of the few who really only played CoD games for the campaign which usually were really good, cinematic experiences (especially the Modern Warfare series). I mean I'd generally get them used since they weren't worth $60 for just the campaign (except when I found the Infinite Warfare MW Remastered bundle for 60 at launch which was a great deal). I'm gonna miss it, especially since the Black Ops campaigns were some of my favorites. Do you guys think campaigns are gone from here on out or do you think they'll make a return eventually?

Eh...if not, at least Wolfenstein is really stepping up to the single player FPS plate these days.

Re: Soapbox: Can You Truly Appreciate a Game with Walkthroughs?

Giygas_95

I usually only use walkthroughs for Metroidvania games (not for the main quest, but no way am I looking for all the optional items blindly. I want to 100% any Metroidvania I play). I just finished a second play through of Axiom Verge, and some of the item pick ups are so cryptically hidden I don't know how you'd ever even get the idea to look there in the first place.

Other times like in God of War I'll use one if I want to find a specific enchantment or talisman or set of armor.

I'm glad people now seem to realize it's all about having fun and not about "getting gud."

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Needs 100GB Minimum of your PS4 Hard Drive

Giygas_95

Developers really need to look into compressing more...maybe they already have, but geez, still that big compressed? I know Nintendo's games are nowhere near as big, but they compress even their biggest games, and they're rarely more than a few gigs in size (or in BOTW's case, about 13, and that's a pretty large game).

On another note, I don't think that "Best selling franchise" on the back of CoD boxes is actually earned anymore.

@HungryWolf I'm sure they'll open up pre-purchase soon, allowing you to download it before release.

@LaNooch1978 I can believe it. Those games are tiny by today's standards.

Re: Darksiders III Turns Fury Purple for Force Trailer

Giygas_95

First game was War, second was Death, third is Fury...I wonder if Darksiders 4 will be about Strife, the brother that Death mentions in Darksiders 2, and who apparently wields a pistol that Death gets to use in that game. May mean the fourth game might be something of a shooter...or that it might play like Bayonetta. Or they might just throw all of that out and do something different, who knows.

Re: Guide: New PS4 Games Releasing in October 2018

Giygas_95

I'm having trouble getting hyped for RDR2. I couldn't get very far into the first one because I just got bored. I was having the same problem with Spiderman until I played it though so maybe RDR2 will be the same.

@KorsaRaph Heeeey, Mark of the Ninja! I'm getting that one too. That along with the Luigi's Mansion remake will be my Halloween games.

Re: Castlevania Requiem Exclusive to PS4 Due to 'High Quality Port' Partnership with Sony

Giygas_95

@Amplified I don't know a lot about game development, but I can't imagine a collection would be that expensive, and it would make them a fair deal of cash too. Throw some emulators and ROMs on a disc/cartridge (or go digital only to make it even cheaper), code up a simple menu to select the game, maybe include some bonus legacy material like the Mega Man X Legacy Collections did (though that would require extra work which they clearly aren't interested in putting in).

Oh well, at least Bloodstained is an up and coming franchise. Curse of the Moon is amazing. Here's hoping Ritual of the Night is too.
