@NEStalgia Cool! Let me know how it works on the Ally. I hope to make some space soon in it to install this massive game (86 gb or so), but with P5R, P3R, Alan Wake II, Control, Hellblade II (I know, I know, I'm those few lost souls who loved that one), both Octopath I&II and some other massive ones I didn't recall right now, it will be difficult. And I don't want to fry a micro SD putting it on my Ally! (Tbf, I think they fix this issue...at least, I think so).
@NEStalgia I get you, my Ally is already overflowing with Atlus goodness.
I wasn't interested in this, and I've yet to play the demo, but thanks to the reviews I've read so far, I am certain I will get this before the end of the year.
@nessisonett I was thinking the same. Everybody says about how far out are the plots and stuff, but his games are very well-designed from a control perspective.
@SystemAddict You're right! Maybe back in the day, I didn't notice it that much because of the novelty factor. I did actually endure all that clunk and jank through to the very end.
Maybe it is because it looks like a simpler upgrade than before. IIRC, The Death Stranding and Ghost of Tsushima upgrades added some more things and the like (both of which I bought and enjoyed greatly, and were released when the games were not as "old"). And this is the same game, expansions and all. Or maybe I am reminding things in the wrong way...
On HZD, I played it, liked it, the game looked (and looks) great, so I don't have any stakes here, hehe. Glad there is the option for an upgrade for folks who love this game.
Other than the Lake House DLC for AWII and the Soul Reaver remasters, not so much for me on this SoP.
The remastered HZD looks great, but it always has been a great looking game since the PS4 era. GoY looks great, but it needs to offer something unique and different from GoT to really gain my attention.
But glad there was something interesting for everybody.
@NEStalgia I think it is a real shame Sony is becoming a luxury brand. Because consoles (at least, in my humble and maybe idiotic opinion) were gearing, some years ago, toward expanding gaming to a wider audience. As much as I don't like to use this word, the industry was kinda "democratizing" gaming as we understand it in these forums (because mobile gaming has, in one way or the other, become the real deal).
That's why I liked the way MS were doing things a year or two ago, before Satya and Amy took charge of MS gaming division. They were, in a clumsy way, trying to open their platform to a wider public, in an "affordable" way.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner Maybe not, but wouldn't it be nice if Sony included those Pro enhanced titles on Plus to show off the new console's power? Kinda like they included those 20 or so games when the PS5 launched.
@Specky @Miserablefish Yeah, indeed, it can be very political.
I would like to quote my favorite plot analysis (which you can check in full here:https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/gamecube/562551-killer7/faqs/38193):
"This game can be anything from the extended commentary on Japanese-U.S. relationships that I have suggested above, to a story involving the badass adventures of Garcian and Dan Smith. Pick your cup of tea and drink it, but don't say that because you have a choice of cups, there is no tea."
@Korgon I've been replaying MGS since the launch of the Master Collection, and it is indeed a blast! It has a pace and soul that not many modern games have. I cherished those times when gaming was all about experimenting with playability and story-telling...
Has anyone downloaded it on the Steam Deck? I want to know the download size, but I haven't found that info yet on the web (and I am away from home atm).
@Matroska On this matter, I have read many times that "physical" is better because is a way to keep games "forever", as if a disc or cartridge won't damage over time.
For example, my disc of GoW (2018) suddenly stopped working. I inserted it one day on my PS4 and bam! Nothing happened. I checked it. No scratches. No dust. No dirt. It just...stopped working.
Dead.
And I am very careful with discs and consoles and all that. I kept the disc in its box, on a nice and fresh, clean space. Same thing happened with AC: Odyssey.
So, two games I bought in a physical form let me down. I don't know why it happened and they are the only ones that stopped working. But, my point is, and many folks have said it, physical media have some downsides too. Those who think it is the only way to keep a game "forever" is thinking in the short term.
And like @ShogunRok said, with day one patches, you may end up with a nice coaster if the game isn't working properly right out of the box. It is what it is, I guess.
Just sharing a little story to keep things in perspective. Either way you choose to play, is alright!
Of course, mobile gaming is "too big" to ignore, but so far, the mobile gaming market hasn't hooked me yet. I far prefer the "usual" way to play, with a console or a dedicated handheld (Vita, Switch).
@get2sammyb Of course, it would be interesting to see what Sony can do in the mobile gaming market!

Re: Death Stranding Gets a Surprise Xbox Series X|S Port, Out Now
@Banjo- Yeah! It's not only on Xbox now, but it's a Play Anywhere title! This made it an instant purchase for me.
I will use my rewards points to buy it and then happily play it between my Series X and my ROG Ally.
Re: Alan Wake 2 Adds PS5 Gyro Aiming in Big Anniversary Update
Came here for the news, but stayed for @Czar_Khastik's comments.

Re: Serve Real Royalty in SEGA's Surreal Metaphor: ReFantazio Competition
@Czar_Khastik Lol!
@NEStalgia Lol! Sega is messing with his luck. If Atlus weren't that good at making those sweet RPG's...
Re: Metaphor: ReFantazio (PS5) - Brilliant, Memorable RPG Is One of Atlus' Finest Works
@NEStalgia I get you, my Ally is already overflowing with Atlus goodness.

Re: Metal Gear Solid Delta's Difficulty Will Differ Depending on Your Choice of Camera
@Czar_Khastik I'm going to try that difficulty!

Re: Date the Girls from Dead or Alive in Venus Vacation Prism for PS5, PS4
@NEStalgia I'm pretty sure there will be one, Nier has crossovers with anything (as long as Yoko Taro can squeeze money out of it)!
Re: Eve's Outfits Reveal Even More in Surprise Stellar Blade Update on PS5
@Max_the_German @Czar_Khastik
Me too, mate, me too! I've been a fan of yours, Czar.
Re: The Last of Us Part 1 and 2 Will Both Look and Perform Better than Ever on PS5 Pro
@Yousef- So true - it's truly a funny priority. I think it would be more fitting for a series like Uncharted.
Re: PS5, PS4 Fans Think Something May Be Afoot with Sony's Siren Series
@SystemAddict You're right! Maybe back in the day, I didn't notice it that much because of the novelty factor. I did actually endure all that clunk and jank through to the very end.
Re: PS5, PS4 Fans Think Something May Be Afoot with Sony's Siren Series
I loved the game back in the day.
Then I played it on PS4 some years ago and, oh boy, does it feel clunky and janky!
But a hidden gem nevertheless.
Re: Horizon Zero Dawn PS4's Price Doubles After PS5 Remaster Announcement
@get2sammyb Agreed!

@VicerExciser LOL, I haven't seen that video!
Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Sony's State of Play for September 2024?
Other than the Lake House DLC for AWII and the Soul Reaver remasters, not so much for me on this SoP.

Re: Sony Appears to Leak Many Games from State of Play
@UltimateOtaku91 "You can see the PlayStation Plus yellow coloring on the TLOU, Alan Wake 2 and Shredder games".
Exactly this.
Re: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered Leaks for PS5, PS4
Loved these games back in the day!
I hope we can finally see a new entry in the series (or a remake on one of those fancy new game engines!).

@Americansamurai1 And Alan Wake II and Shredder's Revenge maybe will be Plus titles too.
Re: Movie Review: Borderlands - As Bland As the Brand It's Based On
Yeah, the story and the actors may suck, but how well does it run? Does it have a performance mode (60 FPS)?
I know where the exit is...
Re: Cult PS2 Genre Blender Killer7 Could Be Resurrected for PS5, PS4
@get2sammyb I know! Killer7 is my current GOAT, very few games have blown me away like this one.

@Specky @Miserablefish Yeah, indeed, it can be very political.

@Pigrotto "Master. We're in a tight spot!".

Yei! My heart is happy today, even if nothing is official yet, I'm happy to see my GOAT in the news.

Re: PS5, PS4 Players Will 'Remain Welcome' As Xbox Closes $69 Billion Activision Blizzard Buyout
@OrtadragoonX I, also, would love to read about this saga.
Re: Watch This RoboCop: Rogue City Gameplay, You Have 20 Seconds to Comply
@Stocksy Oh, thank you! I'll be downloading it once I return home.
And nice to see it runs great on Deck and that is great fun!

Has anyone downloaded it on the Steam Deck? I want to know the download size, but I haven't found that info yet on the web (and I am away from home atm).
Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Announced for PS5, Out 19th September
@XandertheWise Oh, thank you very much. You're right, I messed up the two titles!
Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Announced for PS5, Out 19th September
@get2sammyb Like Deadly Alliance, which had a chess mode (IIRC)?
Re: Xbox Boss Admits Microsoft Can't 'Outconsole' PS5
@LiamCroft Spot on. I listened the full interview, and you have pretty summed up his comment.
Re: Alan Wake 2 Is Still on Track for 2023 Release on PS5
Alan Wake is one of my all-time favorites. So this sound too good to be true, so I would like to believe Remedy on this one.
Maybe this will be one great year (for me, at least), if Hellblade 2 comes out too (highly unlikely, but one can dream ).
Re: A Year After Stadia's Death, PlayStation Appears Poised for Cloud Gaming Push
@Khayl Came for the news, stayed for the Jim Ryan fine art!
Re: Shattered Memories Writer Describes Silent Hill 2 as 'Biggest Poison Chalice in Video Games'
@johncalmc "And coming from a studio like Bloober, it seems unlikely it'll be amazing."
My exact same thoughts. Nothing aganist Bloober, but I am yet to see an amazing game from them.
Re: Poll: What Game Should Capcom Remake Next?
I voted for Onimusha (as I surely would loooove a modern way to play Onimusha 3). But I'd rather prefer a new iteration of this (sadly) forgotten IP.
Re: Feature: Exploring Taiwan's Underground Gaming Scene
Great article @get2sammyb! Of course I would love to see more of this!

But "Gold Gold" or "Cyberpunk Gold"?
I know where's the exit, guys...
Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium PS5, PS4 Games for January 2023 Announced
I just want to say that Sayonara Wild Hearts is superb. Great to see it included on the service, especially for those who haven't played it yet.
Re: Devil May Cry 5 Surpasses 6 Million Units Sold
@pip_muzz Agreed! Although GoW (2018) is a great game, I liked DMC5 more.
Re: Silent Hill: Ascension Spotted in YouTube Video Data
Count me happy, indeed.
Now, Konami, bring back Castlevania too!
Re: No More Heroes III (PS5) - A Suda51 Sequel Full of Surprises
@__jamiie Yes! I have the PC remaster. But I would love to see it in consoles (because I rarely play on PC).
IIRC, there's some licensing issues preventing a port/remaster in consoles - I think that's because Capcom is the owner of the rights.
Why Capcom released the remastered version only in PC is a mystery to me.
Re: No More Heroes III (PS5) - A Suda51 Sequel Full of Surprises
@Danloaded Man, a Suda collection would be awesome! But it's very unlikely
Re: No More Heroes III (PS5) - A Suda51 Sequel Full of Surprises
@__jamiie Man, I am with you, I WISH for a consoles remaster of Killer7.
Re: FIFA 23 Ropes in Ted Lasso, AFC Richmond for PS5, PS4 Soccer Sim
I think this was a no brainer for FIFA, since CGI man is already in CGI!
Re: The Last of Us: Part I (PS5) - A Better, More Beautiful Remake of a Modern Classic
Reading the comments, I know that reviewing (and scoring) this game would be a "damned if I do, damned if I don't" case.
So, with that in mind, thank you for an honest review @get2sammyb!
Re: PS Plus Essential, Extra, and Premium PS5, PS4 Games for September 2022 All Announced
So sad the Sly Collection (PS3) is only in streaming .
Over here we have PS Deluxe, not PS Premium, and that means not streaming for us.

@Anti-Matter I think the same.
