Re: Poll: Are You Playing Metaphor: ReFantazio?

@NEStalgia Cool! Let me know how it works on the Ally. I hope to make some space soon in it to install this massive game (86 gb or so), but with P5R, P3R, Alan Wake II, Control, Hellblade II (I know, I know, I'm those few lost souls who loved that one), both Octopath I&II and some other massive ones I didn't recall right now, it will be difficult. And I don't want to fry a micro SD putting it on my Ally! (Tbf, I think they fix this issue...at least, I think so).

Re: Horizon Zero Dawn PS4's Price Doubles After PS5 Remaster Announcement

HarmanSmith

@get2sammyb Agreed!

Maybe it is because it looks like a simpler upgrade than before. IIRC, The Death Stranding and Ghost of Tsushima upgrades added some more things and the like (both of which I bought and enjoyed greatly, and were released when the games were not as "old"). And this is the same game, expansions and all. Or maybe I am reminding things in the wrong way...

On HZD, I played it, liked it, the game looked (and looks) great, so I don't have any stakes here, hehe. Glad there is the option for an upgrade for folks who love this game.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Sony's State of Play for September 2024?

HarmanSmith

Other than the Lake House DLC for AWII and the Soul Reaver remasters, not so much for me on this SoP.

The remastered HZD looks great, but it always has been a great looking game since the PS4 era. GoY looks great, but it needs to offer something unique and different from GoT to really gain my attention.

But glad there was something interesting for everybody.

Re: Sony Appears to Leak Many Games from State of Play

@NEStalgia I think it is a real shame Sony is becoming a luxury brand. Because consoles (at least, in my humble and maybe idiotic opinion) were gearing, some years ago, toward expanding gaming to a wider audience. As much as I don't like to use this word, the industry was kinda "democratizing" gaming as we understand it in these forums (because mobile gaming has, in one way or the other, become the real deal).

That's why I liked the way MS were doing things a year or two ago, before Satya and Amy took charge of MS gaming division. They were, in a clumsy way, trying to open their platform to a wider public, in an "affordable" way.

Re: Cult PS2 Genre Blender Killer7 Could Be Resurrected for PS5, PS4

HarmanSmith

@Specky @Miserablefish Yeah, indeed, it can be very political.

I would like to quote my favorite plot analysis (which you can check in full here:https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/gamecube/562551-killer7/faqs/38193):

"This game can be anything from the extended commentary on
Japanese-U.S. relationships that I have suggested above, to a
story involving the badass adventures of Garcian and Dan
Smith. Pick your cup of tea and drink it, but don't say that
because you have a choice of cups, there is no tea."

Re: PS Plus Members Lose 19 Games in May as Sony Drops PS Plus Collection

HarmanSmith

@Matroska On this matter, I have read many times that "physical" is better because is a way to keep games "forever", as if a disc or cartridge won't damage over time.

For example, my disc of GoW (2018) suddenly stopped working. I inserted it one day on my PS4 and bam! Nothing happened. I checked it. No scratches. No dust. No dirt. It just...stopped working.

Dead.

And I am very careful with discs and consoles and all that. I kept the disc in its box, on a nice and fresh, clean space. Same thing happened with AC: Odyssey.

So, two games I bought in a physical form let me down. I don't know why it happened and they are the only ones that stopped working. But, my point is, and many folks have said it, physical media have some downsides too. Those who think it is the only way to keep a game "forever" is thinking in the short term.

And like @ShogunRok said, with day one patches, you may end up with a nice coaster if the game isn't working properly right out of the box. It is what it is, I guess.

Just sharing a little story to keep things in perspective. Either way you choose to play, is alright!

Happy gaming everyone!

Re: No More Heroes III (PS5) - A Suda51 Sequel Full of Surprises

HarmanSmith

@__jamiie Yes! I have the PC remaster. But I would love to see it in consoles (because I rarely play on PC).

IIRC, there's some licensing issues preventing a port/remaster in consoles - I think that's because Capcom is the owner of the rights.

Why Capcom released the remastered version only in PC is a mystery to me.

Re: PlayStation Acquires Savage Game Studios, Focusing on Mobile Games

HarmanSmith

@Anti-Matter I think the same.

Of course, mobile gaming is "too big" to ignore, but so far, the mobile gaming market hasn't hooked me yet. I far prefer the "usual" way to play, with a console or a dedicated handheld (Vita, Switch).

@get2sammyb Of course, it would be interesting to see what Sony can do in the mobile gaming market!
