It was a great conference. The Last of Us Part II, Crash, WipEout, and Marvel vs Capcom were the highlights I think.

It was very good. The Last of Us Part II, Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, Uncharted The Lost Legacy, and WipEout Omega Collection were the highlights.

It was great to get another look at upcoming games like The Last Guardian, Horizon Zero Dawn, and GT Sport.

Windjammers, Knack 2, and the Parappa the Rapper remaster were very nice surprises

Smash. Might play a bit of Resident Evil. Mostly Smash though.

I'm intrigued by this game, but other games have my priority at that time, particularly Zelda and most likely South Park in March. Kinda wish it was coming this year, but alas!

Wait Sony is actually giving us good games? Definitely downloading both games!

Oh come on! Getting a bit ridiculous. Only games left that I'm looking forward to this year are Pokemon and maybe The Last Guardian. Might have to get both Sun and Moon now

According to analyst Zhuge EX, this is the worst week in hardware sales since records began. Yikes.

Small correction: September 13th is tomorrow, a Tuesday, not on Wednesday.

Not buying either. Already own a PS4, and don't need to buy another. Don't own a 4K TV either. If I buy any new hardware in the next couple years, it will be the NX.

Probably just PS4 Slim, Neo, and PS VR, with some footage of the bigger games coming (Horizon Zero Dawn, Gran Turismo Sport, Resident Evil 7, etc).

Yeah, not sure I'd call TLG "under the radar". Looking forward to it though.

@Vee_Flames The matte finish on the Slim is too perfect for it to be 3D printed, and there's no photoshop involved.

It would just be called "PS4" on the box because they'll phase out the old model completely, plus it'll be pretty easy to tell on the box.

@Octane To be honest, I expect them to phase the original PS4 out completely.

@Octane They could launch it at $299, the same price as XB1S. That being said, I could totally see them undercutting at $249.

As for NX, I figured that $199-$249 was the reasonable price range assuming the thing is primarily a handheld. But if PS4 Slim is $249? Yeah, you can't launch at a price higher than $199 or people will consider it to be too expensive no matter the tech or the games available.

@get2sammyb Apparently it doesn't have optical out. Yeah, definitely a budget option.

Maybe they'll undercut Microsoft and release at $249.99? Would also put a strain on what price range Nintendo can launch the NX at as well - nobody would buy what's primarily a handheld at the same price as a current console. They'd be forced to stay at $199.99.

Definitely a PS4 Slim, not the Neo. Cheaper model aimed for the more casual player, and will allow Sony to save on components. Neo is for the core, particularly already existing PS4 owners.

Dragon Ball Fusions actually had a pretty decent second week. Thought it would have dropped a lot more than that.

Kirby Planet Robobot continues to have legs.

Playing Gravity Rush Remastered. Great game so far.

Also RIP Gravity Rush 2.

So The Last Guardian might actually release before this game?

@JaxonH I'm sure Monster Hunter did contribute, but I don't think the series is quite there yet in the west where it could have the level of effect on sales like it does in Japan. It's getting there though!

I think Pokemon Go was the biggest culprit.

Apparently the 3DS was actually at the top of the hardware charts for July. Xbox One was in second place, and therefore 1st for home consoles.

I think noise and heating/cooling is somewhat important as well. Will the Neo not sound like a jet engine? Will it keep cool?

The vanilla PS4 would take the crown for "jet engine console" if it wasn't for the original Xbox.

It's just some NeoGaf user who just won the Olympic gold medal for jumping to conclusions. Nothing to see here.

In the mean time, I'm going to play Gravity Rush Remastered and finish replaying ALttP.

Meanwhile, Pokemon ORAS saw another bump thanks to GO and Sun/Moon hype. Will be interesting to see Sun/Moon's week 1 sales (obviously, it will sell super well, but what effect will GO have on it's sales?)

Nice. Three PlayStation exclusives in October now - The Last Guardian, World of Final Fantasy, and Dragon Quest Builders.

Will probably be adding some games to the backlog instead of clearing them lol. Planning on getting Apollo Justice Ace Attorney and Until Dawn, though the former I might wait a bit for.

In the mean time I'll continue to play Smash Bros. Maybe I'll break out the Splatoon as well. Haven't played that in quite some time.

They definitely could have done worse. Doesn't matter too much though.

Total faith in Insomniac to make an awesome Spider-Man game.

@rjejr If Activision said that, they probably said it after the release of the first game now that I think about it. Skylanders has grown and changed a lot since then. So they could have easily changed their minds since then.

My cynicism seems to be spreading from NintendoLife haha.

@Biliquid @JaxonH Nowhere even close to NintendoLife levels. That place gets almost depressingly cynical and even toxic at times, especially lately.

@rjejr I'm pretty sure Activision said they didn't want to put Crash in Skylanders because he didn't fit.

The idea here is that Sony paid Activision to put Crash in Skylanders and then have that content be PS4 exclusive.

What makes this comparable to Federation Force is that Sony knows how much fan demand there is for a new Crash game. If all of the fan demand and all of the teasing they did only amounts to them paying Activision to make some exclusive content for Skylanders? Yeah, that's Federation Force levels of disappointing your fans.

The exact same reasoning Kimishima gave for NX launching in March 2017 rather than Holiday 2016.

Calling it now: PS4 Neo will launch in March 2017, possibly on the same day as NX.

Not sure this is a good idea. Is it a double standard for all those praising Sony for this yet bashed Nintendo for the same thing?

If this what all of the teasing has been for, then Sony and Activision are about to get some Federation Force levels of backlash, and deservedly so.

God this game looks incredible. Expected the delay, and I'm totally okay with it.

Too early to be hyped. Right now I'm much more interested in For Honor and of course South Park. Wonder when those will come out.

I feel like demos might not do the game's combat justice. Or at least that's what I hope.

Interesting that MLB The Show charts for two months in a row. Did the same thing last year. It's weird because I honestly never hear anyone talking about it - both in person or online. There doesn't ever really seem to be much hype leading up to the release. Odd case of silent majority here.

@JaxonH This is why it always pleases me when games like Ratchet & Clank or Until Dawn do really well. Well deserved.

Meanwhile, GTA V continues to chart. It and Minecraft are the redwoods among evergreen titles.

Also great to see how successful Dark Souls III is. Nice to see Quantum Break and Star Fox Zero chart.

Really weird that all three console manufacturers declined to comment on hardware sales.
