@AstraeaV Wow, that is very useful! Can you please test The Last of Us 2, Ratchet, or GOW Ragnarok and share some info on how it works on a 2-3K laptop? Thank you!
Of course, sarcasm. I believe you. It is more powerful on paper, but not better than PS5. I had two gaming laptops, and both were very uncomfortable for gaming, mainly because of heat and cooling noise during play in ultra-high settings (not to mention 4K). On the other hand, PS5 is cool and quiet, costs 3-4 times less, has exclusive games, and the graphics are 90% similar to the eye for the next-gen games. So I believe it all counts to the math.
@Flaming_Kaiser The subject is more about generalizing people who don't think the same as you than about skin color. Put the people you know nothing about in the same corner based on your thinking... Yes, it sounds a little bit racist. I would say you sound like "a" word, but then the admin will ban my comment. Next time, be more precise, like "people who complain about X subject...", not "these people."
@Flaming_Kaiser First, the term "these people" is not proper. It sounds racist. You have no idea who those people are and their reasons for saying that. In the end, every person who pays PS+ has the right to express their opinion. My example, I don't play multiplayer. I pay PS+ only to get free games and keep my PS+ with 300 titles unlocked. Lots of people are doing the same. Second, this month is terrible. Whoever liked GOW already owns it or played it. That was the most popular game on PS4/PS5 for years. Third, these other two games should be at least different types to please members who don't play fights or JRPG.
I got nothing this month. I feel they didn't give me any game! God of war... Whoever was interested already played it at some point (at least 20-40M players). The other two games are for a more narrow group, specif types of players. So, to sum up, this month, most of us who don't play JRPGs multiplayer fight and smash brawl got a d... from Sony.
It is nice they added these options, everyone can fit what they like. But for me, the most important issue with retro games is to include PS trophies... There is no point in finishing these old games again if there is no reward in the end. Ok, I can have some fun with 2-3 favorite games, but what then? I will pay the Plus Premium for one or two months and then switch back to the Essential or Extra package. Without rewards, there is no reason to spend time reserved for playing newer titles to play all PS classics again...
PS. I know that is not simple since those games were developed before PS accounts. But, they should at least add one main trophy so we can have a reward and track completed games.
This looks awesome! I tried it before on PS Pro and stopped playing because the console was too loud in 4K mode. I guess it's time to try it again on my PS5.
Not a great month. On the other hand, SpongeBob Rehydrated is an excellent game for children, especially if you have some guests with small kids. Not the PS5 version, but it is ok.
@Milktastrophe Uhh, you still did not get what I am talking about. On the leaked graphic, there was no option to buy 6 or 12 months, and with that, there was no chance to spare some money on a subscription. Still, YOU are the one talking exclusively about the monthly subscription, sharing cropped screenshots no one asked (without 12 months price) even if I corrected you multiple times, and trying to answer my comment with content not related to it. I am not even sure why I am explaining all of this to you. I guess because I just got a bunch of notifications on Pushsqare...
@Milktastrophe We are talking about US dollars and multiple months of subscription. Here is the fresh info just taken from PS store USA : ). Check it.
PlayStation Plus 12-Month Subscription

I believe you missed the point. With liked list (search for PS Neo package on google), there were no cheaper options than 10 USD even with multiple months on subscription. You know what, here is a text copy of that leak. Now you see what I was talking about:

... but, as I said, it does not matter. It is fake.
@Milktastrophe Current year subscription for PSN plus is 59,99 USD. So 60 divided by 12 months, you get it without a discount for 5 USD per month. If you catch a deal, you can get it for half price, 2.5 USD. : ). But it does not matter. It seems that the leak was fake.
@awp69 I hope so, and thanks for the update! It looked real to me, with this crazy world today, inflation, the war in Europe... Prices are going up, and it would be a miracle if they offered something affordable, especially with higher prices on PS5.
Honestly, I am not very happy about it. There is a leaked list on the net with packages, features, and prices. For example, from now on, monthly store discounts are for paid subscribers only. Practically, we will have to pay for everything on PS. First, I will be forced to pay 10 USD for the minimum package instead of the current price for PSN Plus. Yes, I usually purchase a year subscription at a 30-50% discount. But with these prices, I will have to pay 60 USD per year even with the max deal. Second, it seems they took all good and free stuff and made it a subscription only.
@kyleforrester87 Please watch new reviews on Youtube. The game costs 70-100 dollars / euros depending on the country. So, they updated the game economy AFTER people bought it and expected all included features (cars). They reduced the total reward to 30-50 thousand credits. Now the player needs to win ten races to get that money (in other words, to drive dozens of times to win it). The result is that people can't afford nice cars in the game. Most of it costs from a couple thousand to a few million. End goal? After taking 70-100 dollars / euros, they updated the game and offered players to buy 100,000 credits for 3-4 real dollars / euros. So, Polyphony purposely made it incredibly hard for players to force them to pay cars around 10 dollars / euros per item. That deserves an enormously low rating. Not to mention that I am one of the guys who were eager to buy and play GT7 on PS5, and not their greed ruined it for me.
For the last two days, I played Cyberpunk on PS5, and yesterday I paused the game and purchased GTAV PS5... Compared to the previous scene from Cyberpunk, GTAV looks empty and obsolete. Not many details on the street and textures are simply upscaled from the PS4 version. To be honest, I didn't remember it like that from my PS4 Pro, but after playing next-gen games, it still looks obsolete. It looks better, but it still has that PS4 gen. vibe.
@frankmcma "Fidelity Mode is tuned for the highest visual quality and targets 30 FPS. In this mode the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X support native 4K resolution with ray tracing enabled, while the Xbox Series S supports upscaled 4K resolution. Performance Mode is tuned for the most responsive gameplay experience and targets 60 FPS. In this mode the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X support upscaled 4K resolution while the Xbox Series S supports a resolution of 1080p."
I agree, it is weird not to have native 4K/60 even with medium-quality details. The developers should consider adding a third resolution mode to PS5 games. On the other hand, upscaled performance mode is probably close to native 4K. You won't notice much difference, but it will keep high-quality details. More likely, they will use 1440p or 1800p.
@Angelus3K Lots of users are playing PS5 on the monitor, and we are kind of punished without a specific reason :/. It is not that PS5 can't support 1440p, it is more than Sony doesn't want to add it. For example, I use a 27" PC monitor in my home office, it is (2560 x 1440 px (1440p)), the native resolution is excellent and sharp. But connected via HDMI to a "superior" PS5, it only shows games in 1080p, and then the graphics in most games are blurred same as when I had PS4 (which I btw. sold to buy PS5 primarily because of better graphics). I don't know what VRR is, and that is an entirely different issue. But Sony should enable basic features like resolution support. Xbox supported that years ago...
There are literally thousands of games they can select. It doesn't need to be AAA for 59,99 to be a "good" game. For example, indie hits in the price range 10-20 USD like Dead Cells, Hades, Blasphemous, Stardew Valley, Syberia, Sable... I can go on. Most people expect games that are worth investing time in it. I mean, at least one proper title and others can be whatever. This month we got MP game (without single-player campaign), plus UFC and Sim Coaster, which is interesting for like 5-10% of the players. So all three games are not a good fit for the majority of 50 million PS Plus subscribers.
After seeing this announcement, I decided to cancel my PS Plus subscription... There is no point. I don't play multiplayer games. I am only paying for it to access the current PS Plus library (100+ games which I don't use) and get some exciting games. Before, we were getting good games that most people would like to play, like Resident Zero, Tomb Raider, Bioshock... I don't ask for AAA titles, but they could give us some indie hits like Death Cell. Getting the theme park, DLC multiplayer, and fighting games nobody wants to buy is not worth it.
If they provide upscaled or enhanced legacy/retro games like Maximo 1/2 (PS2), Castlevania: Lament of Innocence (PS2), Mickey: Castle of illusion remake (PS3), Earthworm Jim HD (PS3), The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge (PS2), and similar... Then, I would say: take my money! I pay for Xbox pass mostly because of X360 and X1 enhanced games.
@iamtylerdurden1 Godfall > It is usual to give players a full game, then it on us to decide what part or level of the game we want or don’t want to play! We dont want someone else who played it to tell us if it is worth or not.. It is not a full game and that is the end of the story.
@Futureshark Please check the clip from 2.39. The PushSquare clearly says NO FREE PS5 UPGRADE for Mortal Shell. I hope they are wrong and you are right...
@AdamNovice Nop, and also Sony pays fat compensation for publishing games one month free for 50 milion PS Plus subscribers (for loosing possible customers).
Before PS5 was released, deluxe editions on PS4 were around 80€, and regular AAA titles were 59,99€. Now the standard PS5 game cost's around 80€, and at a discount, it is 50-60€.
@auditor01 We don't need to care or consider inflation. My expenses are also higher. Food costs more, bills, gas and all other stuff you can imagine are more expensive. But my salary is the same as before Kovid19. So most of us have LESS money than two years ago. Just calculate simple stuff, for example, in 2019. you could buy xx liters of gas, and now you can buy 50% less for the same salary (it applies in most countries, especially for daily expenses). On the other side is a company with billions of dollars in profit... If it is just a game price I would be ok with that, but at this "unusual" time when everything is more expensive, they should be more considerate to their customers. In the end, if their games are 60€ like before, more people would buy them, and they would get the same amount of money. But with a difference that more players could access the games faster. Check the votes. It shows that 60-70% of players delayed purchases because of the higher prices. Also note that God of war, Uncharted 4, and Ratchet and Clank were very accessible during the PS4 era, most of the time prices were around 10-30 USD.
@Richnj Uhh "The Special Edition is the only version of Skyrim on the PS4. So you would have bought the PS3 version and the PS4 version. That's it."
There is no point in discussing what you are talking about. It is the most recycled game in the history of modern gaming. The other day, I purchased an Anniversary upgrade for 15-16 GBP. So me and 2-3 of my close friends constated we bought Skyrim more than ten times... Not to mention other of their games, the same games, just different versions... First, oblivion, then Oblivion GOTY, then Fallout 4, then also GOTY... As I said no point in arguing for them. I didn't spend 100-150 GBP on their games, and if we are going to be real, I spent more than 300 for three different games... The point is you are not right that people are complaining about nothing. We spent lots of money on ONE recycled game. That is the fact.
@Richnj, You missed the point of why people are angry... "I'm amazed by how many people here are really upset they have to pay $50 dollars for Skyrim AE, despite apparently never being interested enough in Skyrim SE that has been out for 5 years and regularly went on sale for $16 or less."
I purchased this game on PS3 for around 40-50 USD, then again on PS4 for the same amount, then I believe I paid again for Special Edition on PS4. After spending 150-200 USD in the same store, I need to pay again for the same game with a few upgrades. You can't sell the same game in the same store a few times for a total price with just essential modification . That is just... I wanted to say crazy, but I will say Bethesda.
@AhmadSumadi For me, a quality game consider any bestseller I would install and finish the game. Unfortunately, I won't even install most of the PS Plus games provided in the last couple of months. On the other hand, there are thousands of good games on the PS Store that are worth playing, from best-selling indies we used to get in the first years ( like Limbo, Mercenary Kings, Slain, etc ) to a bit older AAA hits like Control.
My previous comment... It explains why they need to improve the quality of the games. It is clear their income is growing, and games quality stays the same.
"Every month, we pay real money to get at least older best-selling games like Control or Shadow of the Tomb Raider (I can agree that AAA is not a good term, it could mean something else). I will clarify why I said that. If we say that the average monthly subscription is 5 USD, it means that Sony's monthly income is at least 200 million US dollars. For a fifth of a billion dollars... Yes, we expect quality.
To note, I am not a subscriber to PS Now or Game Pass. Like the rest of the 47 million subscribers, I care exclusively for PS Plus and what that's going to get me. I have been paying PS Plus for more than six years, their income is drastically growing from month to month, but the quality of the games does not follow that."
"it's the PSVR anniversary month, do people not understand that?"
No one knows that because actually, 4% of the players care.
"The expectations and entitlement of some of you guys is just ridiculous. Like you deserve AAA games for peanuts when all you do is complain about their business decisions & their choice of promotions. If you want AAA games that is competing with Game Pass, get PS Now. Plus isn't the equivalent of GP, it's the equivalent of Games with Gold, which also gives away games of varying quality that are usually budget releases."
First, this is not what I said. That is your construction and opinion based on assumptions. The second part is highly discussible, "Like you deserve" I don't need to deserve anything, like the rest of 47 million PS Plus subscribers... Every month, we pay real money to get at least older best-selling games like Control or Shadow of the Tomb Raider (I can agree that AAA is not a good term, it could mean something else).
I have been paying PS Plus for more than six years, their income is drastically growing from month to month, but the quality of the games does not follow that.
The main problem is compensating quality of regular games with VR titles (Except for Kindom of Amalur, which looks like low-budget Skyrim). I see that VR owners are happy, and I am glad for them, but here is the fact... Only 4% of the PS4 and PS5 users own PSVR headsets. On the other hand, no one will buy it because the device is outdated and too expensive for today's quality standards (heavy cables, you can see pixelization, image is blurry). Compared to Quest 2, which is wireless, has higher resolution and image quality without pixelization, it is like comparing PS3 with PS4.
So, to get to the point, even if all news titles start with "PS Plus Subscribers Are Getting 6 Free Games for November 2021", the truth is that 96% of PS Plus subscribers actually got three average games, two multiplayer for kids, and one game that is ten years old:
First Class Trouble (multiplayer + unusual gameplay)
Knockout City (multiplayer)
Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning (the outdated game initially published at the end of 2011. (10 years ago))
Regarding PSVR, here are the sales numbers:
PS5 13.4 million
PS4 116.4 million
PSVR 5 million
@SONY Next time, please give us two proper AAA titles instead of 6 or even 16 (it doesn't matter) average games that no one wants to buy at the end of 2021.
Great games!
I...Just kidding. Seriously, I am considering to cancel the PS Plus subscription. It is better to have one or two proper hits than five average games. Last few months, I didn't get any game worth playing. Just s*it games mixed with multiplayer and VR to cover what they are doing. Compared to the start of the year, we got Oddworld Soulstorm, Control, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
For all of you using monitors and waiting for Sony to do something about VVR and 1440p Resolution Support, just buy a new Xbox. It does both things. Older versions like Xbox one X support 1440p, and the latest models also support VVR. Done...
1440p Resolution Support for people who play games on the monitor, it is crazy not to support something that simple. I play PS5 in the office like most of my friends, and we all use our "precious" PS5's to play 1080p resolution like we still use PS4... That is just crazy! Sony, WAKE UP and fix this! Enough of forcing players to buy/use more 4K tv's! In the meantime, some of us purchased Xbox and paid Xbox pass to play games in higher resolution.
Bad memories with that phrase. I still remember CD Project Red's first Cyberpunk trailer from eight years ago. They said at the end of the video "coming when it's ready"... And it was never ready. I know it is Naughty Dog, but still...
@theheadofabroom Thanks for the detailed explanation. Since I am also a PC player, I tested dozens of games during the previous 15 years and saw what turning on and off Vsync does. Besides fixing the tearing, it is not taking 30% of the resources, it is more like a few percent, and I am willing to sacrifice it to get a smooth cinematic render. Anyway, even if Vsync is a more significant issue than I think, I believe that Sony should add an option in the video settings for 30 fps lock (assuming that trend will continue and most games will be designed to default 60 fps). That way, we could select how we want to experience specific games, and both 30 and 60 fps players will be happy .
I actually want to see more games like Demons Soul's to produce 4K performance mode and 4K 30+ fps cinematic mode with better rendering quality. Smooth fps is ok, but it should not be the only option. In the end, many of us bought PS5 to have superior graphics quality, not strictly more fps. There is a reason why cinema movies show limited fps. If they started to record 60 fps, it would look like a cheap Spanish telenovela (check Cyberpunk PS5, poor graphics with 60 fps, looks cheap). Besides RT issues, it would be best if Sony added options in settings to limit the experience to 30+ frames. In that way, every game can be designed exclusively for 60 fps, and people who want a "cinematic" experience can switch it (there is some option now, but it does not work in any game). Just to add, I like 60+ for racing games and some shooters, but If I want to play some adventure like RE7 or RE8, I would prefer to play it in "cinematic" mode, like Demons Souls with max rendering quality!
Just to note why I am saying 30+ instead of 30. Limiting the game to 35-40 fps will be more cinematic but still smooth without visible "chopping" when turning the camera fast. On the other hand, when it is limited max with 30, it is noticeable to the eye. I don't understand why they cut it exclusively to 30 fps as a playable minimum when it is obvious it still "chops."
I recently bought Xbox one X just to play CP. I tried to play it on my PS5, but it looks bad. Comparing to One X, there are no high-quality textures, no proper shaders and effects, and resolution is upscaled... It looks washed out, blurry, and with 60 fps applied on poor graphics, it looks like I am watching the old Spanish telenovela recorded with cheap cameras. Not even close to a cinematic experience like I have seen on Xbox SX in quality mode (similar to Demon's Souls cinematic mode).
Just to note why One X.. First, I didn't have 600e for XSX . Second, since the game was developed on it, it is the best optimized of all consoles. They even manage to include the full range of effects to look like XSX in quality mode. Of course, it is still in 1800p/30fps and without RT. But it still looks far better than PS5. Anyway, it is pretty shame that CDPR almost a year later didn't make a proper PS5 version. Now it just emulates PS4 on PS5.
They need to integrate PS+ with PS Now for the same or similar price as PS+ currently cost. Besides PS5, I also have an Xbox one X and a pass subscription (like many of you). It is definitely more useful than PS plus. I recently played the Ascent and Hades, the latest super hits, which is currently impossible to do on PS+ and PS now.

To be honest, I didn't remember it like that from my PS4 Pro, but after playing next-gen games, it still looks obsolete. It looks better, but it still has that PS4 gen. vibe.
Re: GTA 5 on PS5 Features Three Visual Modes, Faster Loading, Enhanced Graphics, Much More
@frankmcma "Fidelity Mode is tuned for the highest visual quality and targets 30 FPS.
Re: PS5 Firmware Update Beta Launches Today, Upgrades Parties And Lets You Pin Games
Re: Poll: Are You Happy With Your PS Plus Games for February 2022?
Re: PS Plus February 2022 PS5, PS4 Games Announced
After seeing this announcement, I decided to cancel my PS Plus subscription... There is no point. I don't play multiplayer games. I am only paying for it to access the current PS Plus library (100+ games which I don't use) and get some exciting games. Before, we were getting good games that most people would like to play, like Resident Zero, Tomb Raider, Bioshock... I don't ask for AAA titles, but they could give us some indie hits like Death Cell. Getting the theme park, DLC multiplayer, and fighting games nobody wants to buy is not worth it.
Re: Talking Point: What PS Plus Games for February 2022 Do You Want?
Watch Dogs Legion (PS5)
Re: Talking Point: What Do You Realistically Expect from PS5, PS4's Game Pass Inspired PS Plus Reboot?
If they provide upscaled or enhanced legacy/retro games like Maximo 1/2 (PS2), Castlevania: Lament of Innocence (PS2), Mickey: Castle of illusion remake (PS3), Earthworm Jim HD (PS3), The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge (PS2), and similar... Then, I would say: take my money! I pay for Xbox pass mostly because of X360 and X1 enhanced games.
Re: Hands On: GTA Online's The Contract Adds More Compelling Content to a Creaking Classic
Who cares... I want a new GTA game!
Re: Poll: Are You Happy With Your PS Plus Games for December 2021?
@iamtylerdurden1 Godfall > It is usual to give players a full game, then it on us to decide what part or level of the game we want or don’t want to play! We dont want someone else who played it to tell us if it is worth or not.. It is not a full game and that is the end of the story.

@ScepticDK Nop, no PS5 edition.. Check my comment above.
Re: PS Plus December 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Announced
@Futureshark Please check the clip from 2.39. The PushSquare clearly says NO FREE PS5 UPGRADE for Mortal Shell. I hope they are wrong and you are right...

Re: Godfall's PS Plus Version Is All Endgame Content, No Story Campaign
Hah, I wanted to say at least we got Mortal Shell but now I see it is only PS4 version.. It is confirmed, the PS5 upgrade is not included!
Re: Godfall's PS Plus Version Is All Endgame Content, No Story Campaign
@AdamNovice Nop, and also Sony pays fat compensation for publishing games one month free for 50 milion PS Plus subscribers (for loosing possible customers).
Re: Talking Point: Is Sony Being Stingy with PS5's First-Party Pricing?
Re: Skyrim Anniversary Edition Upgrade Prices Revealed
Re: Skyrim Anniversary Edition Upgrade Prices Revealed
Re: Skyrim Anniversary Edition Upgrade Prices Revealed
I would gladly pay £49.99 for the Morrowind remake!
Re: Skyrim Anniversary Edition Upgrade Prices Revealed
Haha, I guess next is Skyrim's Special Aniversary Deluxe Edition. They could pack an Aniversary edition and one PS5 wallpaper for £149.99
Re: Poll: Are You Happy With Your PS Plus Games for November 2021?
Re: Poll: Are You Happy With Your PS Plus Games for November 2021?
@GalacticBreakdown
"it's the PSVR anniversary month, do people not understand that?"
To note, I am not a subscriber to PS Now or Game Pass. Like the rest of the 47 million subscribers, I care exclusively for PS Plus and what that's going to get me. I have been paying PS Plus for more than six years, their income is drastically growing from month to month, but the quality of the games does not follow that.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy With Your PS Plus Games for November 2021?
Regarding PSVR, here are the sales numbers:
@SONY Next time, please give us two proper AAA titles instead of 6 or even 16 (it doesn't matter) average games that no one wants to buy at the end of 2021.
Re: Rumour: PS Plus November 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Leaked Ahead of Reveal
Great games!
I...Just kidding. Seriously, I am considering to cancel the PS Plus subscription. It is better to have one or two proper hits than five average games. Last few months, I didn't get any game worth playing. Just s*it games mixed with multiplayer and VR to cover what they are doing. Compared to the start of the year, we got Oddworld Soulstorm, Control, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
Re: Rumour: Sackboy: A Big Adventure Is Making the Jump to PC
That would be nice!
Re: Talking Point: What PS Plus Games for November 2021 Are You Hoping For?
Dying Light - Enhanced Edition would be cool!
Re: Rumoured GTA Trilogy Remasters Get Age Rating in Korea
Not sure what to think. Instead of announcing GTA6 and showing some early development gameplay for next-gen, they have only older games...
Re: Feature: 12 PS5 Firmware Updates We Want to See
For all of you using monitors and waiting for Sony to do something about VVR and 1440p Resolution Support, just buy a new Xbox. It does both things. Older versions like Xbox one X support 1440p, and the latest models also support VVR. Done...
Re: Feature: 12 PS5 Firmware Updates We Want to See
1440p Resolution Support for people who play games on the monitor, it is crazy not to support something that simple.
Re: Naughty Dog Will Reveal The Last of Us Multiplayer 'When It's Ready'
Bad memories with that phrase. I still remember CD Project Red's first Cyberpunk trailer from eight years ago. They said at the end of the video "coming when it's ready"... And it was never ready. I know it is Naughty Dog, but still...
Re: There'll Be No Ray Tracing in Far Cry 6 on PS5
Re: There'll Be No Ray Tracing in Far Cry 6 on PS5
Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.3 Details Leave a Lot to Be Desired
Re: Talking Point: How Would You Improve PS Plus?
They need to integrate PS+ with PS Now for the same or similar price as PS+ currently cost. Besides PS5, I also have an Xbox one X and a pass subscription (like many of you). It is definitely more useful than PS plus. I recently played the Ascent and Hades, the latest super hits, which is currently impossible to do on PS+ and PS now.
