I reserved a Deck and a big part of why is because Sony are putting their games on Steam. I don't think we need a next-gen psp now but I used to really want one. What I want is for Sony and Valve to work together to make sure PS Studio games have a preset config to get the best experience on the handheld.
Sony won't have to go through the money and time to create a next gen handheld but can still focus on selling their games in a new market.
I'm not downloading an app to view a trailer in real-time. I assume it's just raw unedited capture footage of the guy playing the game. I'll wait to see if there's anything more to it before I do that.
They need a big show whether that's soon or at a PSX later in the year but if they plan to do that, they should announce it. They're out of touch with a lot of the community that's getting tired of their current strategy and announcing an event would negate some of that. People want to see games that matter in the bigger picture.
They could have just hide the charge for improvements in the expansion, charge $30 "for it" and let PS5 owners with just the base game have the improved version minus the expansion for free. Then when players buy the expansion, Sony would get their money anyway. Yea some would say the expansion isn't worth $30 but that's just more of a personal opinion. The bad optics could have been avoided, lol.
"Not everyone had good enough to stream games or money for a new console/pc". Ok, they'll miss out. Xbox and PC fans who can't afford a PS or have good enough internet for PS Now have never played Bloodborne. Should it have not been made because Dark Souls has fans on Xbox?
This is ideal, imo. Whoever the new developer is, they can learn about what Dead Space is all the way down to the code before actually trying to create a brand new one.
I don't mind paying to upgrade from the PS4 version to the PS5 since it has an expansion and improvements. I don't expect them to have to do any of that for free. It's just crazy that if you don't own it already, you'll have to pay $70 straight up.
I bought the game on sale so I'll be in it at between $55-60 or something all together but you'd think Sony would have done it like Sack boy, $50 and $60. That $10 means more to some people than Sony realizes.
Then again Nintendo can repackage Wii U games and sell 20+ million copies at $60. What tf do I know.
@WallyWest So you're telling me that they've only released 1 new game since 2013 because game development is harder now? I'd believe you if it was a game every 3 or 4 years but as it goes, I'd say they're poorly managed and inefficient and have the wrong priorities compared to the R* of the ps2/3 gens.
@themightyant Exactly what I came to say. The only great SH game is 2, imo. The rest, especially after 3, are mediocre and if Konami thinks that's fine for SH then Bloober is a good fit. Plus a lot of people love Bloober's games, so...
They've got a very low bar for satisfaction. I'd say it's more like passable. Kind of sad that they think they deserve recognition for basic stability.
A 9. I'd go as far as a 9.2 or .3 if it was an option. I have personally found some bugs and glitches, getting stuck in places and so on but that's really only because I'm weirdo who tries to break games and get to places you might not be meant to, otherwise I'd really consider a 10.
I guarantee you someone has asked him to all but kill this until people start to forget or lose interest. Then we'll see it at Gamescom or The Game Awards, something like that. There's no way the dude can go forward with the original plan of how this whole experiment was meant to be after all that has happened.
So no more having to fast travel because I'm bored af running through wilderness to get to another outpost? I'm all about it. So happy that finally things can progress but it makes me wonder about Farcry 6.
I always want to believe but rarely actually do. I want to believe but now I think it's not Kojima, Silent Hill or an indie game from a small dev outsourcing assets from a AAA asset farm when all they have made is an early access Steam game that rips at Fatal Frame, that came out end of 2020 that noone has heard of.
Idk what to believe. I can't even believe Sony thought this is the guy we want the next No Man's Sky from.
Why does it have to be Silent Hill? Hasn't there been a rumor of a remake of MGS for quite some time? Kojima did some blatant MGS referencing in the Death Stranding DC trailer, I mean MGS music was in it and I doubt Sony wants to get sued. So it could be a hint of some deal with Konami and Sony for MGS games and I could easily see it being revealed in the Director's Cut, if we're just making stuff up based on vague clues.
Didn't BBgames themselves say Abandoned was a cinematic survival game? They didn't say survival horror. MGS has been a cinematic survival game since Snake Eater.
The studio's Twitter has said the BLUE in their name stands for something that isn't the color, as in B.L.U.E. Whoever guesses it gets early access to its alpha and people are guessing blue for PlayStation which does not really fit but the account said someone's close and they'll announce a winner in 24 hours. Yea, something's happening, even if its just one Turkish man's publicity stunt.
Overall, yes it did but Nintendo did great and were focused on the near future for once. People singing Xbox praise but they mostly had cgi, including a cgi trailer to announce they had nothing to announce about a sequel that surprised no one. Xbox needs to be careful revealing games so early or they'll end up the house of vaporware.
I think then you shouldn't sell out if platform exclusivity sucks so bad but I get it. Some businesses deals make sense for the people involved and PlayStation has always been third-wheel to Bethesda's relationship to PC and Xbox.
All a non-issue to me because I'd still probably play their games on PC anyway but the fact they sympathize with PS only gamers is interesting.
Looks way better than any other games we saw this weekend except maybe the Plague Tale follow-up but I hope this doesn't mean we won't get expansions if the game's successful.
I'd still rather buy a physical copy of a game. Those exist still which editorials like this across many websites today seem to have forgotten. Sure, I like Gamepass for indies that are digital only. The devs probably make more money with a Gamepass deal.
I think games like Destiny or The Avengers should just be on a service like that but something like Returnal or Ratchet & Clank I'd much rather have a copy of. Gamepass can't do that. I hate how gaming media tries to push everyone in a singular direction.
Also, Nintendo - right now - is tops globally and can they afford to copy Gamepass? No. Will they abandon physical media? No. There can exist different models.
Looks good. I'll watch them all, just kind of bummed the games got delayed by Sony so they have no reason to do their own show. Better to have great games than a show, though.
I did play it. I prefer when Bethesda made games where npcs had a short story worth of dialogue to read through. I'm a lore kind of guy, I've never keen on their brand of gameplay.
I don't think they lied at the time they said they believed in generations, I think they changed their minds this year due to a lot of people who want these games not being able to get a PS5. And I'm not saying that they're doing this for fan service like they alluded to today, it's more a revenue thing.
If the majority of God of War fans are still on PS4 because they can't get a PS5 but want to play the sequel and would buy it if they could, well you probably should sell to them.
I don't care myself, as a PS5 owner. As long as I get the occasional showcase title, then I'm not upset. I just want to know what exclusives are coming. I assume they're all 3rd party this year after R&C.
If they're doing a Horizon SoP this week, they're probably setting things up for a show at some point about the second half of the year. Honestly, I'd rather just get a SoP when we're a couple of months away from a game's release.
Reminds me of Fable both in ambition and how polarizing it is. Only this game actually attempts to deliver on its grand ambitions instead of outright cutting most of them. I know a lot of people hate the Fable games but I loved all three. If any game gets me to buy an Xbox, it'll be the new one. So I'll still try this game.
And I'm not saying that I'm going to love the game for sure and agree with PSU or AOTF before even playing it. It reads like a 6 or 7/10 to me but I'd also rate plenty of games I've had fun with the same, like most PS3 Ratchet games, Jak 2 and 3, Uncharted 1, The Order 1886, Dragon Age 2, Fable 3, Just Cause games, etc.
Good game so far. I'm kinda of surprised that it works as well as it does given how much activity goes on in a map, from moving cars to orbiting platforms. It's a busy, hectic experience but fun.
The slower sales are likely due to it being a PS5 exclusive. Being a very difficult rogue-like also means its appeal is limited even to PS5 owners but as more PS5s get out there, the game will low key keep selling. If their next game hits when a lot more people have a PS5, then it could sell big numbers fast.
@Xenomorph_79 If an unpolished game like like Outriders or a short experience like RE8 go for $60 than Returnal is fairly priced. Nintendo is charging $60 for Skyward Sword plus $25 for its cheat code and plastic amiibo. If Returnal is unfairly priced, than 99% of games are as well.
I'm not big on first person games but this is intriguing. I've only liked Doom Eternal and Ghostrunner from recent releases with this perspective and this gives me similar vibes. Seems cool.
I hope it's another b-tier platformer full of jank like Spongebob or the Ice Age game from a couple years ago. I know those are like 60% meta score games but I love them for some reason.
I'm expecting big stuff from Sony and I think Microsoft will show a lot of stuff that won't release until 2023 at earliest, but it will be nice to see. I think this E3 is most important for Nintendo. I know the cult expects every game on their wishlist to be shown and have release dates for later this year but... yea. I don't even have faith that Botw 2 will release this year and without hardware that can run it at least at 1080p60 natively, I'll probably skip anything they show. I don't care, I'll still enjoy it. My worry is that people think this a AAA game but it isn't. It won't be very polished or have the fastest patches for fixes. It's a small team making something more ambitious than anything Ubisoft would be brave enough to do. I'm betting this will be a rewarding game with a ton of jank.
What makes people think it won't be another Fallout 4 or worse, another 76? Sure, they could make a comeback with this game but people seem to forget that they were attacking Bethesda the day before the buyout was announced. Like Microsoft is some sort of great game publisher to begin with.
So let's say they are making a new Silent Hill and a MGR remake/sequel, do we need them to actually be there? Sony or whoever they're working with could just drop a teaser during their show. Konami could then show the games at TGS or TGA. I just hope we don't have to wait until 2022 to be informed and probably disappointed, lol.
