Re: Beloved Classics Will Comprise PS Plus Premium Catalogue

RavenWolfe81

PlayStation is doing nothing to help themselves here. For all we know this just going to be mostly games already on PSNow or PS3/Vita stores in the case of PS1 and 2 games. Nothing really new, nothing but a rom drop and an excuse to allow PlayStation to close those stores finally. I'd love them to prove that wrong.

Re: Kojima Productions Not Being Bought by Sony, Says Hideo Kojima

RavenWolfe81

I don't believe him. Usually I disbelieve leaks or rumors until an acquisition gets announced but not this time. It's not even because Bluepoint said the same thing after a leak but because Kojima knew exactly the response he'd get. He did the tweet anyway.

At the very least he's trying to get into the news cycle and gain some publicity before some sort of announcement.

Re: PS Plus Deal Devastates Oddworld: Soulstorm Developer

RavenWolfe81

So they basically took a lump sum of money to make a game that became shareware between PlayStation and their subs with no real way to monetize it post release. That sucks but low sales was obviously likely to happen. Few people will buy something they have access to for no charge.

The dev should have made the deal to get payments based off download numbers also. But idk, maybe PlayStation don't do deals like that.

Re: By the Way, Elden Ring's Speedrun Record Is Now Less Than 9 Minutes

RavenWolfe81

I love some speedruns and I get why the fastest time possible is appealing but it sure is boring and it really lacks any tension in most games with glitch categories compared to no hit runs or 100%. Basically I can watch 120 star SM64 runs all day but 0/1 runs are boring, same thing here but whatever, some people like it.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 420

RavenWolfe81

Kirby and TFL, it's better than I thought it would be, it's pretty creative with fun moments but also can be boring in segments, err I mean has areas designed for casual exploration... yea.

Gotten tired of Elden Ring, nothing really its fault, I just don't really appreciate open-world games. So I got Ghostwire (I know it's kind of open but it's small scale) and while I don't like the feel of the movement and combat, the game's visually great and the Japanese paranormal theme and atmosphere is awesome.

Re: Poll: Will You Subscribe to Sony's New PS Plus Tiers?

RavenWolfe81

Depending on which classic games are available, I might go for premium. It has to have a lot of PS1 games, though. One reason I don't subscribe to NSO is because I don't really care for N64 games, there's like 3 or 4 Rare made titles I'd still play but that's not worth a recurring fee.

So have a great selection of PS1 games, maybe add online play to some of them like Twisted Metal and I'll sub. If Nintendo can add online play to N64 games, surely Sony can to PS1 titles and that would be huge, imo.

Re: GTA Online Adding Paid, Monthly Subscription on PS5

RavenWolfe81

It's weird how far all the best devs from the PS3 era have fallen. Bioware (could make a comeback), Bethesda Games and Rockstar have either barely produced content or have been producing bad content and charging people for old content over and over.

They make me really appreciate Naughty Dog and Insomniac, even Sucker Punch more than I should.

Re: Ghostwire: Tokyo (PS5) - Not the Bethesda Swansong We Hoped For

RavenWolfe81

@Mezzer I'm more looking at all the reviewers I tend to agree with, which includes here. I'm sure this game is decent but right now is a bad time to release a game that isn't exceptional.

Elden Ring, Forbidden West, Triangle Strategy, Kirby, Wonderlands (if it's any good) and so on. A lot to choose from and I only have so much time.

Re: Shaky Sly Cooper PS5 Rumours Intensify, with PixelOpus Attached

RavenWolfe81

Sony need this. They have had two sore spots in their published lineup since PS3 released, multiplayer games and rated E games. R&C games are great, Rift Apart was probably my favorite game last year but one series doesn't sell multiple consoles to families.

I've had to buy 3 Switches for my family (that's where Nintendo are getting these big numbers) but I imagine that the PS2 would have been the last PS anyone else in my family would have wanted their own of. We need to get back to the variety we had in the lineup back then.

Re: Destiny 2: The Witch Queen (PS5) - Bungie's Loot Shooter Vaults Back into First Place

RavenWolfe81

@Titntin

Absolutely. No other live service game could delay it's upcoming content and season for SIX months and survive, yet players were fine with it, the game survived and is in the best (not perfect but best) shape ever. Huge player counts still, which says all you need to know about how good the game is and how important Sony acquiring Bungie is.

I can respect that not everyone sees it. It's a time sink just like PoE or Warframe but hey, Bungie has done something both EA and Square Enix fail hard at even with all their money and talent. Now they hopefully help us get some great games maybe in the Killzone or Twisted Metal series.

Re: Destiny 2: The Witch Queen (PS5) - Bungie's Loot Shooter Vaults Back into First Place

RavenWolfe81

Having a great time with it. It amazes me how far the game has come since a terrible first year. It was nearly franchise kill worthy how bad it was but this is now the best content Bungie has ever created. I'm personally very excited that Sony acquired them.

I don't expect people who mostly play single player games or that haven't kept up to appreciate what Bungie has accomplished but it's a big deal if you know. But I've been there since day one game one and I'd rather play a multiplayer focused game anyway.
