PlayStation is doing nothing to help themselves here. For all we know this just going to be mostly games already on PSNow or PS3/Vita stores in the case of PS1 and 2 games. Nothing really new, nothing but a rom drop and an excuse to allow PlayStation to close those stores finally. I'd love them to prove that wrong.
@PegasusActual93 This right here. If they hit us with something like Quake Arena or Unreal Tournament, I'm in. It'll probably be an Overwatch clone, which is... ok but knowing Ubisoft, they'll release it the same day as Overwatch 2's release
I'd rather have online play than trophies, at least for some games like SOCOM and Twisted Metal. Nintendo has added in that feature for their service, so it's possible but not probable, lol.
Doesn't bother me. Games have been full of ads for years. Games like Splinter Cell Chaos Theory had built in ads from AMD and Lynx/Axe. They make it no less a great game.
I said this would suck, on a Nintendo board, unless it was in VR and I became a villain. Come to a PS one and everyone beat me to it. But it's very true. In VR this would be great. PSVR ought to be full of light gun game ports and remasters but idk.
I'll buy it. It's not like we're rolling deep in quality 2D platformer releases all the time. Pure platformers have fallen off a cliff apparently and I've not played these in a long time.
I don't believe him. Usually I disbelieve leaks or rumors until an acquisition gets announced but not this time. It's not even because Bluepoint said the same thing after a leak but because Kojima knew exactly the response he'd get. He did the tweet anyway.
At the very least he's trying to get into the news cycle and gain some publicity before some sort of announcement.
Of the games on the list, it's between Wonderlands and Ghostwire, for me. I'd probably pick Ghostwire, as it doesn't exactly play incredibly well but the total package feels fresh from a world design and visual viewpoint.
So they basically took a lump sum of money to make a game that became shareware between PlayStation and their subs with no real way to monetize it post release. That sucks but low sales was obviously likely to happen. Few people will buy something they have access to for no charge.
The dev should have made the deal to get payments based off download numbers also. But idk, maybe PlayStation don't do deals like that.
I love some speedruns and I get why the fastest time possible is appealing but it sure is boring and it really lacks any tension in most games with glitch categories compared to no hit runs or 100%. Basically I can watch 120 star SM64 runs all day but 0/1 runs are boring, same thing here but whatever, some people like it.
I bought both ER and HFW and couldn't stick with either. I get caught up in the hype and think that I'll finally enjoy another open world game every time a big one releases and then I check out 10 hours into it. I can see why HFW fell off.
9/15, not bad but sometimes I do better. I know general PS trivia but game specific questions often get me. I just don't play enough games, lol. Like the CP2077 romance options. I've no clue.
StS is a great game but I'd rather play it on my phone. Played BfBB back at first release and when the remaster launched. It's fun but yea, last month was way better. Ghostrunner was great.
Kirby and TFL, it's better than I thought it would be, it's pretty creative with fun moments but also can be boring in segments, err I mean has areas designed for casual exploration... yea.
Gotten tired of Elden Ring, nothing really its fault, I just don't really appreciate open-world games. So I got Ghostwire (I know it's kind of open but it's small scale) and while I don't like the feel of the movement and combat, the game's visually great and the Japanese paranormal theme and atmosphere is awesome.
If it's really big, that narrows it down quite a bit. Square Enix, Namco, Capcom, Ubisoft, Warner Bros.. My guess would be one of the last 3 I mentioned.
I just hope the classic games have online play where applicable. If they do that I'll sub the yearly premium. I also hope that the live service games get benefits from premium whenever they launch, if not launch free from charge on the tier. That would boost the subs and player counts.
Depending on which classic games are available, I might go for premium. It has to have a lot of PS1 games, though. One reason I don't subscribe to NSO is because I don't really care for N64 games, there's like 3 or 4 Rare made titles I'd still play but that's not worth a recurring fee.
So have a great selection of PS1 games, maybe add online play to some of them like Twisted Metal and I'll sub. If Nintendo can add online play to N64 games, surely Sony can to PS1 titles and that would be huge, imo.
It's weird how far all the best devs from the PS3 era have fallen. Bioware (could make a comeback), Bethesda Games and Rockstar have either barely produced content or have been producing bad content and charging people for old content over and over.
They make me really appreciate Naughty Dog and Insomniac, even Sucker Punch more than I should.
I want the rumor about a new PS+ to be true, with adding classic games to a tier. Give me some PS1/2 games I've not played in years. There's nothing newish that I'd rather play right now that I'm not already playing.
It's fun, no doubt. Hopefully Epic does keep the mode but they sure have added in so much since I last played. Vehicles, mantling, sliding, spider webs even the battlepass looks full of cool looking stuff. Had no idea, but I'll stick with it for this season, at least.
I don't think Platinum have doing what Bungie or Hello Games have done recently by turning around a bad game but if they can, I'll check the game out at some point.
@Mezzer I'm more looking at all the reviewers I tend to agree with, which includes here. I'm sure this game is decent but right now is a bad time to release a game that isn't exceptional.
Elden Ring, Forbidden West, Triangle Strategy, Kirby, Wonderlands (if it's any good) and so on. A lot to choose from and I only have so much time.
Triangle Strategy and Eldin Ring. ER gives me anxiety for no reason, really. It's not nearly as difficult as I imagine it will be, it seems but maybe this next area or dungeon will be too much for me, idk! Lol
I wanted to like it and was willing to buy it but the demo shows that the game pukes loot at you in a bad way. It's not just overwhelming, it actually makes anything you earned in the previous dungeon pointless.
The rpg elements feel unnecessary , too but if they had made it a straight action game or made your loot matter, it would have been a great game, to me.
Sony need this. They have had two sore spots in their published lineup since PS3 released, multiplayer games and rated E games. R&C games are great, Rift Apart was probably my favorite game last year but one series doesn't sell multiple consoles to families.
I've had to buy 3 Switches for my family (that's where Nintendo are getting these big numbers) but I imagine that the PS2 would have been the last PS anyone else in my family would have wanted their own of. We need to get back to the variety we had in the lineup back then.
Well, it's not surprising. Hard kind of game to make and unless PG drops a huge roadmap and really tries to communicate with the few players they have still and websites like this one, it's going to die. The reason games like Warframe and Destiny do so well is because of communication and delivering on promises of future content. I don't see that here.
I thought it was good. I wanted to see new announcements, I got them. People just want to see the rumor mill be confirmed and get Silent Hill or whatever but I'd take that strategy game SE debuted over whatever Konami would call Silent Hill now.
GT7 and Witch Queen post campaign quests/seasonal activities. That campaign was amazing. I didn't expect Bungie to drop their best work ever but I'm glad they did. I might play some ER or HFW but I'm getting burned out out on 3rd person open world games.
Absolutely. No other live service game could delay it's upcoming content and season for SIX months and survive, yet players were fine with it, the game survived and is in the best (not perfect but best) shape ever. Huge player counts still, which says all you need to know about how good the game is and how important Sony acquiring Bungie is.
I can respect that not everyone sees it. It's a time sink just like PoE or Warframe but hey, Bungie has done something both EA and Square Enix fail hard at even with all their money and talent. Now they hopefully help us get some great games maybe in the Killzone or Twisted Metal series.
I can't wait to play this. Borderlands has usually been a creative and somewhat unique series but this game seems like they're taking a bigger risk than usual, I hope this game is as fresh as it seems
Having a great time with it. It amazes me how far the game has come since a terrible first year. It was nearly franchise kill worthy how bad it was but this is now the best content Bungie has ever created. I'm personally very excited that Sony acquired them.
I don't expect people who mostly play single player games or that haven't kept up to appreciate what Bungie has accomplished but it's a big deal if you know. But I've been there since day one game one and I'd rather play a multiplayer focused game anyway.
I think Resistance would make a decent film in the horror/scifi genre. It's not got the Uncharted or TLOU name recognition but the story and setting is there. They wouldn't have to spend 100s of millions on it and there's a lot of people who'd come out to see something similar to Alien but bigger scale and set on Earth.
Yea let me just blindly trust user reviews that are anonymous. That's the way, trust anonymous users over someone who puts a name and face, or at least has a portfolio of work, to an opinion. /s
I realize that professionals can be corrupt but it's far less likely than user bias and sexism creeping up on MC.
I bought it and am not disappointed. Some people complain about console resolutions and fps but this game is dense, especially later on with lots of interiors to go with a big city. Most people on PC can't even get 1440p60.
