I can see why people love the game but it's just ok to me. It was incredibly overhyped but I don't even blame Annapurna because it was mostly us who did that. Last year we got both Kena and Psychonaughts 2 and many people (myself included) was hoping for another action platformer.
My PS5 used to have issues with sleep/standby mode, or after a power outage but it seems to have gone away after recent updates. So, you know, those mysterious stability updates, lol.
I didn't like Sea of Thieves and I feel like this is going to be a very similar experience. I'd have to play solo a lot and that sucks unless you know the game and are good at it, when it comes to a game like this.
It looks fine going by the developers previous work. They are not AAA devs but somehow got the license and people think the game should like something EA would make. Eh, maybe it'll be fun, maybe not.
Hopefully we get a new release like Stray every month, doesn't have to be a hyped title, just a good new release when it makes sense. I know in September, Metal: Hellsing and Soulstice come out in the middle of the month, so there's options. Add a PS4 game and a couple classic games and I'd be happy.
Good good, I get the feeling I would have had to skip until then anyway, as the games I really want to pick up in the second half of '22 are taking shape.
Nope, I don't want the stress of trying to get one of these. Whenever a CE gets a big formal announcement for a preorder date, it's going to be a crapshow. Just ask any Xenoblade fanatic.
I love Sekiro, Bloodborne and Demon's Souls but can't get into Dark Souls 1-3 or Elden Ring. So, I can relate but I don't know why I feel that way honestly.
When the devs say they can't talk about it, it really does feel like it isn't ready to show which doesn't bode well. All that is needed is some transparency from Santa Monica. So some people can move on and let this game release when it's ready.
I'd rather wait until next year, if that's needed in order to make sure the game launches in top shape so no patches needed to make performance mode look right, for example. I just hope they don't do an end of year rushed release like what happened with Cyberpunk.
A 27" 4k monitor sounds like a bit of a waste, imo. 1440p would be better and get the price down a bit but eh, people love their pixel density. Really though, how many 4k 120hz games are there on PS5? If I got one, it would be the 1080p display.
It's decent, good for essential members but if you have extra/premium, maybe it's disappointing. Still you have 100s of games to play that are tier specific. I don't understand why anyone would be literally angry.
Premium for now. I need to see the cadence for new additions to the classic catalog, as I think it's currently the main disappointment with the service. At least two games people actually want a month is the minimum, for me, otherwise I'll unsub until the library is built up.
I get it. It's like Sonic Forces, without loading screens or the world map. I just hope it controls well and the "levels" you come across get more complex than what's been shown.
I'm not interested in subscription models. I don't even subscribe to many at all. So I think he has a point. It just seems like with how game releases are, you can't depend on several large, quality AAA first party releases every year. That is what would save you money.
Some years are lean on releases. If I had a year or two of Gamepass stacked right now, I'd honestly be angry. I guess if you want to to play a lot of indies and such, it still works out. Why people think everyone wants to play all these random games, idk.
@MaikonCSGarcia yea I get what you mean, I suppose since the game is on Gamepass perhaps Phil sees as something they helped fund or greenlight when they paid to get it on the service. Maybe like Sony did with the crash remaster. Maybe that is what he meant.
It's more than just demand/supply issues, as far as yoy comparisons. People in North America had stimulus money last year and inflation had not truly crept in. Now people have less money to spend. But I do think Sony will still sell through any consoles produced, I'm more worried about game sales long-term.
I'm interested, for sure but why was Phil Spencer acting like Xbox had a hand making this game? There's people who think the games a collab and likely a timed exclusive, lol.
I couldn't care less about 90% of the games that have hit Gamepass day one. Gears and Forza sure, a few interesting indies here and there, it's not enough to justify the fees for a guy like me who doesn't have time nor cares to play every game. If Xbox ever gets a steady cadence of quality exclusives added then maybe I'd change my mind.
Sony could certainly change my mind if they did day one but they'd need as many premium subscribers as they currently have in total to sustain that and I'd be shocked if even 5 million people sign up for premium.
I'm afraid that it will take more than a great map to get me back. I'm not a hater of the game, I had some fun with it but there is just so much else to play that has 100x more content and much better skins/shaders, guns, etc
@Goat_FromBOTW MW is pretty awesome both in campaign and multiplayer. Cold War is ok, has plenty of maps and the campaign is decent but MW is worth a go. I say that as someone who plays CoD a lot, even Vanguard but I don't recommend Vanguard unless you really want a WW2 shooter.
Meh, I'll miss Bethesda studios like id and Tango but I stopped enjoying the BGS open world games after Fallout 3. Right now, all I care about is actually a few of Activision's games like Crash, Spyro, Tony Hawk and any potential Guitar Hero. I honestly still enjoy CoD but I can live without it but not the old school franchises.
That was incredible! Very impressive and it was 99% 3rd party, usually those are average at best. Saints and Sinners 2 looked like a god tier VR experience as well as Horizon. Re4, FF16, SF6, Stray, etc, all good.
Just seems like the second half of the year is going to lean for 3rd parties. Hopefully we get a PS Studios show soon or they feature in SGF next week.
Everything going on with PS+ recently had made me realize that I just really want to be able play my own games online without all this. I get that PlayStation want to keep that behind a paywall. I can live with that but let me get online pay for $30 a year, I'll buy my own games ...
BB won't get remastered/remade until PS6, you could almost bank on it. PlayStation seems always leave a game or two exclusive to previous gen and only rarely do they ever revisit them. PS6 launch is our best chance imo.
I do hope their plan is to ride off the hype from a Ragnarok presentation in June to get some subs from the few people left who haven't played it. Or maybe get more people playing it again before the sequel releases.
@Apfelschteiner Sure but the more games a publisher has that are in the same genre, the less likely they are to make all those games. So would PlayStation let CD make Tomb Raider when Naughty Dog are supposedly making more Uncharted?
I doubt it and so what then? Let them run support for Santa Monica maybe? A waste of somewhat limited talent. At least CD can keep doing what they're good at with a 3rd party publisher that wants to let them mostly operate independent.
Sorry my dudes but Tomb Raider is just unneeded in the first party lineup. Really the only missed opportunity here is the Montreal studio, they could've done some good stuff with Siphon Filter and having Deus Ex come in a PlayStation quality would be amazing but eh, let's let some games stay multiplatform...
I think they're ok. Curse if the Dead Gods is a really good game but I already have it. Tribes looks pretty good, imo. I know people who are fans of loot games and they like it, so I'll at least play it but with a new Diablo coming, eh. Fifa is well Fifa, I'm more into arcade sports games, so I'll be waiting for Strikers there...

Re: Soapbox: I'm Sorry, But Your Cute Cat Game Isn't That Great

I respect the devs effort, though.
Re: Test Your PlayStation General Knowledge - Issue 14
9 and I actually didn't mess myself up overthinking something or misreading like usual. Some of those I had no idea about, like Bust-a-groove.
Re: Sony Faces Lawsuit Over Supposed PS5 Crashing Defect

Re: The Callisto Protocol Is Looking Like a Must Play on PS5, PS4
High on my list! I don't mind derivative games, especially if the gameplay hasn't been done to death.
Re: Test Your PlayStation General Knowledge - Issue 13
8, I got a couple wrong that I shouldn't have but that's fine.
Re: Stray Wants You to Meow 100 Times to Unlock Its Platinum Trophy
Haha, that's clever.
I am cat.
Re: Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series (PS5) - No-Frills Remasters of Old School Platformers
I'd try them out once they go on sale. I was kind of surprised by the price but it's a trend.

Re: God of War Ragnarok Release Date Confirmed for 9th November
Very, nice! This should shape up to be a great year for PlayStation.

I would love a good NFS. The last one was a step in the right direction in many ways. If this game builds on Heat in the right ways, I'm excited.

Re: Test Your PlayStation General Knowledge - Issue 12
Got an 8.
Sort of disappointed because there were several I narrowed down to having to be one of two choices but picked the wrong one.

Tom Delonge, alien hunter by day, jrpg spy by night, lol.

Re: Sony Studio Firesprite Lets Colossal Liverpool Office
@Art_Vandelay oh I agree. Just seems like this studio is as big as it is because the games they're making can't be done remotely. Which is fine.
Re: Sony Studio Firesprite Lets Colossal Liverpool Office
@Art_Vandelay yea they still have to solve the motion capture via $20 webcam problem, lol.
Re: Random: PS Store Bug Sets Tekken 2 Price at $9,999
No way, not even if they ship me a sealed CIB copy, lol.

Re: Gallery: Spot the Difference in The Last of Us: Part I PS5 Screenshots
I'm down with it. Looks like a lot of work has went into compared to most remakes, probably not Demon's Souls level but I like it.
Also, I never played the game on PS4. Last time I played part 1 was when it came out. I'm actually very excited for this.
