I'd put this #2 personally. I started a new playthrough recently and it's still just as fun and awe inspiring. Few games that aren't outright built for replayability can make me feel that way, like I can play a roguelike over and over but not action-platformers. I'd put this up there with Mario Odyssey.
Definitely my top game this year, it captures the spirit of old adventure games but keeps things modern with wild imagination and decent 3D action platforming. It's not going to compete with something like Mario Odyssey in pure gameplay but the whole package is phenomenal.
Too bad we don't know the % that are using the VR headset... I mean good thing we don't know! I don't want to know, that wouldn't be interesting at all...
But seriously, why Minecraft? Those guys are real creepers I bet.
@KorsaRaph I agree. I enjoyed the show apart from the ads but I don't expect this to be done for free. You can't please people on the internet, though. Most just want to see the game they imagine should be there or they're jaded and cynical. I'm 40 years old, thought the show was the best one yet, the earlier ones were pretty bad but it's getting better. People's comments never fail to depress me, though.
@Serialsid The same as a Dualsense because they are building them from Dualsenses. That's why there's such small batches, they have to source controllers.
Nah, I'm good. Thanks but no thanks. Scuf controllers are high priced thanks to CODbro streamers making them out to be necessary for high caliber play. They might make certain playstyles easier but that doesn't make them 3x the cost to sell.
@eagletrippin Funny thing is I have a perfect spot for one but it's got my wife's exercise bike in it. It's never used but I can't take it down apparently, lol.
If I had the space to build myself a racing/flight sim cabinet, I'd put one of these in it, as racing games are top 3 genres for me. But yea, this way too hardcore for my pleb self, though one day! Lol
Rockstar released it digitally a month early to be able to get a higher cut of peak sales, especially on PC where the game is only on their launcher. Should they have waited until December and launch with a major day one patch? Absolutely but then they'd have less people buying directly from them. This game will be fine by it's physical release date and it was all planned, imo.
No, I didn't. I used to love GTA but V has turned me off to the whole thing. I don't even feel excited about VI, assuming Rockstar is capable of actually completing a project.
People think they don't want or need to because of GTA Online but that's not how companies work. Success pushes production but Rockstar can't get anything going anymore, here's your proof. They couldn't even make this themselves or pay a top tier remaster studio to do it. They're the new Bioware in a lot of ways, except Bioware bounced back when the trilogy that put them on the map got a remaster. At least they did that right.
Hey at least it's playable. A messy, headache inducing, buggy af playable disappointment that modders and reverse engineerers of superior versions, that got delisted, got punished and even sued for... but it's playable.
Man those two Stalingrad, Lady Nightingale levels put this campaign in much better standing than the CW one, imo. CW didn't catch me until the end when you get to make a choice but Vanguard's campaign is pretty good imo. I didn't expect that after reading some reviews. Like the story is a mess but the actual levels are good.
I was pretty surprised and wondered what Square was thinking here but I guess it was just as simple as 100s of millions of dollars should buy us a good game, it'll take care of itself.
Its mostly good. Until You Fall is a very underappreciated game and Saints is almost as good as the VR versions of RE4 and 7. I don't care the multiplayer games or KoA.
I lost my love for the series at this point but IV was the peak imo and the 3 PS2 games are pretty close to it. Tbh I'd rather play the top-down games than V, have no hope for VI but I'm pretty excited for the Trilogy remaster.
Sometimes I buy a remaster in hopes of getting a new game but not here. I'd rather they not butcher the series anymore by further modernizing it. You're kidding yourself if you think the next game would be oldschool.
But then there's no need for a Playstation!!!... they'll say except PCs are far, far more expensive for similarly powered rig, you have to deal with Windows, drivers and troubleshooting, mining crazes that make it impossible to upgrade without getting exhorted and more.
I'll just plug in a PS and be happy but the option being there for people who want to do PC gaming is great.
It was ok. That Star Ocean reveal was interesting. The series has always had a cheap look to it but played well, kind of like a Falcom game but I don't think that's enough after Tales of Arise. It really raised the bar for Japanese games.
You make zero sense. That theory is bogus and purely emotional. If Sony will put sequels on PC then they aren't baiting PC gamers to buy a PS5... That would only work if they didn't port the sequels. If PC users can't be patient enough to wait for Forbidden West or GoW2 to come to PC and buy a PS5 out of FOMO, that's their fault.
That's great, more people to play but they really need a pc version of Dreams (and LBP3) because that would help those games so much and it would improve our experience, too. But yea that's good for this game, if true.
Unless this campaign rivals COD2's there's no amount of saved disk space that can get me interested. WW2 has been done so much, this has to be exceptional to be worth it and I don't see it so far.
That was the best era. Games were experimental and crazy af. You just walking through some empty environment, chill as can be and boom, T-Rex! You don't get that often today.
The website seems to imply better airflow, I'm curious about whether or not it's a better functional design for plates, as that would be the only reason I'd buy a set.
I'd guess 1-2 degrees C drop at most. I'm sure 1000 videos will pop up on the tubes about it, or not.
DMC5 SE, finally caught a sale. Animal Crossing NH, can't wait to design some vacation houses! Far Cry 6, Ubisoft's getting better at making memorable events outside the campaigns.
Still need to see it but better lighting could have a substantial impact on visuals. Graphics mods and better controls are more than I expected and since you get all 3 games, its not too bad a pack if what they've done is good quality.
I remember people freaking out over how amazing they thought Crisis looked because their PC couldn't run it. I thought it was just poorly optimised and then the sequels came. Much better games, with better graphics that actually ran well but people think that means the games aren't as good, or as memorable.
Some people treat the Metro series the same way, too.
I know it sounds odd to say as a PlayStation guy mostly but I think this might just be Halo's year. If Vanguard gets a strong positive reception from players, I might buy it but after playing this beta, 2042's and Halo's flights, Halo seems the best.
Hey if they're actually in Unreal, look at least as good as GTAV and play similar, sure. If they're just HD versions with trophies, I'll pass on the $70.
@Integrity Oh sure because every game with an expansion pack removes content./s Bungie's problem is they're too cheap to make a sequel and they use their vault as an excuse but that doesn't mean expansions don't work.
Nice review, I pretty much agree. Easily the best FC game if for no reason other than pacing. You get the bulk of your basic cool stuff within an hour or so of play, instead of hand-holding. I wasn't going to buy the game but a friend sold me on it. Great game, great review but I don't mind using the benches and arming myself accordingly to the base, though. Seems like a guerilla fighter would have to do that, I'd think.
And people hate on Bungie for doing paid expansions with Destiny... The model just works. Companies can promise free maps and add-ons but someone has to pay for it and Square Enix got tired of paying.
I don't blame them but had they done paid expansion packs, they could have made bigger, better expansions where they also could invest in fixing the game's issues.
I've played a lot of Apple Arcade, there's some good games on it. If they do a PlayStation Arcade service, or maybe grow PS+ by including it AND if it has similar quality or better games than Apple's I'll be fine with it. Just keep console games coming and also design the mobile games to allow the player to use a controller and this doesn't have to be a bad thing.

Deathloop dlc or expansion will be shown no doubt, you guys know you need it.

Demon's Souls? Uh, is that part of TGA lineup like these others? I feel like that's a subtle hint.
