Re: PS Vita Support Shows No Signs of Slowing in 2020

@Nakatomi_Uk Agreed, I still play my PS3 and Vita and would love to see even minimal effort. I checked out the PS3 sale and it had AssassiNs Creed games for £15. The remasters are cheaper on PS4!

@keihtg Really? Maybe this is a Europe issue as can’t see anything going cheap here unless I am missing them.

@Stocksy Me too. I had a 64gb memory card that died so have been collecting as many Physical second hand as I can but they have started to go up in price from what I can see.

This is pretty nifty. I do wish that Sony would do some maintenance on the Vita Store. Firstly, they have not updated it at all and secondly they have stopped virtually all price promotions. Now the format is 'dead' I sort of wish that they would do large scale promotions to squeeze some more cash out. The last Vita sale was Boxing Day sales in 2018.

Re: PS4 Firmware Update 7.50 Is Available to Download Now

Normally I rush home from work to get these stability updates installed or I even call my wife and talk her through how to update. Knowing I am just at home and can do it any time takes the thrill out of.

Still in todays scary world, we all need a little bit of stability right?

Re: Delays Potentially Incoming for Many Upcoming Games

Rudy_Manchego

Yeah the issue is all about logistics and infrastructure now and cost savings. A lot of business is weighing up furloughs and temp shutdowns since they can't ship their products in the correct volumes globally. One of the key reasons for TLOU was that they couldn't guarantee launching across all regions and that would be bad on sales and reception.

Re: PlayStation Fans Fidgety as Control, The Last Guardian Devs Pick Epic Over Sony

Wow this quarantine thing is bringing out the trolls. I have seen a lot on social media of platform fanatics of all sides trolling which I don't get. Truth is, I don't like epic and their philosophy but if they are giving good devs funding and independence, you can't blame them. besides, Epic games are typically PC exclusives. Until epic release their own console (you heard it here first).

Gutted - I had planned to take a day trip down to London for this and there was some great indies I was eyeing up to play. Also seen that Insomnia has been cancelled which I was also going to go to.

All for the right reasons but... poop. Back to my self isolation it is.

Re: PlayStation Cancels Huge PAX East Showing Due to Coronavirus Concerns

@carlos82 I agree that mortality rate isn't everything and we can only base it on the figures we have which may not paint the whole picture. Of course, mortality rate is also affected by quality of healthcare whereby currently in most countries, the small amount of cases mean care is better than the struggling Chinese hospitals can give. Or we can put our tin foil hats on and say the death rate is possibly higher in China and we are all doomed. Or semi doomed!

Either way, from Sony's perpsective, an outbreak at this stage in their offices etc. would mean a huge loss of output at a critical time for the company. In my work, I have had to put in work from home procedures and sets of steps in case we get hit my mass absences if this does the rounds here. All costs money!

The whole point is to reduce international travel and having mass meetings of people from over the globe is the perfect spreading place. Two of the confirmed UK outbreaks were caught at intl conventions. I think we will see a lot more of this from companies this half of the year.

As for the whole mortality rate, yes it is only a little bit worse than flu but the numbers are still staggering if you look at a global scale. If you imagine that 50% of the world population caught the infection (estimates range on this, with some as high as 60%) you are looking at millions of deaths. This is on top of the huge social, healthcare and economic impacts.
