Re: Sony Exploring Ways to Store PS5 Games on External SSD

Sanctanox

As a person with 4GB of HDD on my PS4 and a LOT of games I will have some problems in the future with the small SSD. Big compatible SSDs will be quite expensive. I want my collection within reach and not deinstall and redownload games again and again. So at least to park them on and external drive would help.

Re: Don't Expect Assassin's Creed Valhalla to Run at 60 Frames-Per-Second on PS5

Sanctanox

@FullbringIchigo They would never ignore a PS5 because they want to make money. They ignored the DS because they did not sell enough games on it. And creating a 60FPS mode is easy as hell in a 4k world. I am a programmer myself. It is just a few minutes of work. Just offer a 2k mode and maybe deactive 1-2 graphic features. Done. It is WAY more work to make a switch version than to make a 60fps version of almost every game on the market.

Re: Poll: What Do You Hope Insomniac Games' First PS5 Project Is?

Sanctanox

@AFCC Unfortunately yes. I say unfortunately because although Spiderman is a great game it is just one of many. But Ratchet and Clank is a rare genre nowadays and I love it so Ratchet would be great. And as they are good VR developers for PCVR I really hope they will also make a PSVR (2) game in the future.

Re: Days Gone Patch 1.61 Reduces the Game's File Size

Sanctanox

I have 4 TB of storage (2 internal 2 external) and I really wonder how I will handle all my games on the PS5. I'll have to use my PS4 for my older games and only use some frequently played PS4 games on the PS5. PS5 storage could be extremely expensive. We'll see.

Re: Poll: Will PlayStation Exclusives on PC Affect Your PS5 Purchasing Intent?

Sanctanox

I prefer playing on console in spite of having a good gaming PC. I just hate all the problems with a PC. I only used it lately for PC VR and even this made me mad. Error messages OUTSIDE VR on the Windows desktop, problems with sound, etc.
I just love consoles. Even the Oculus Quest is way better if you DON'T connect it to a PC and use it like a console. And to all the PC lovers: I respect your choice. I was a PC guy for 15 years but I really like the easy console way nowadays.

Re: Nintendo Switch Overtakes PS4's Lifetime Sales in Japan

Sanctanox

Japanese people spend a lot of time in public transportation and they work long hours. So mobile gaming might be the only way for them to play games.
I hardly play mobile and I hate that the switch has no achievement or trophy system. That's why I hardly use my switch at all. Only for some Nintendo exclusives.

Re: Official PS Plus May 2019 Videos Battered by Dislikes and Comments Section Outrage

Overcooked is a good game but the problem is that the majority of gamers ignore indy titles and only want AAA-titles. In my opinion a lot of indy titles are way better than some AAA ones but that is only my opinion. But what I dislike: A few month ago we got 2-4 games for PS4 (cross buy VITA titles). There was almost always a good game in the list. This ended. So I hoped for 3 PS4 titles at least.

Re: Poll: What Are Your Thoughts on the PS5?

Sanctanox

I am really happy about the specs. Imagine the graphics in VR on the PS5 even on the first gen PSVR. Imagine the fast loading times. I really hope they also support external harddrives (for smaller games), shareplay, etc. But as it is compatible with PS4 games this should be a no brainer.

Re: Talking Point: Should All Games Have an Easy Mode?

Sanctanox

If a games like the From Software ones would have an easy setting the game would only be a normal action game. The difficulty level forces you to learn the fighting mechanics and at the end you have a lot of fun with it. If you could switch to easy mode the game would not be the same at all. On the other hand: There should be a demo version of these very hard games. Speding a lot of money and realizing you can't even kill the first boss is a big big problem.

Re: PS4 Firmware Update 6.51 Released, But It's Nothing Fancy

Sanctanox

I wonder if PSN name changes will come with PS5. As a software developer myself I have absolutely no excuse for them. That was just HORRIBLE programming. If you create a database you would never ever use the actual username as a reference for anything. You would always work with an alias like a big number or whatever. You learn this kind of thinking in the first month of software developing or even by using your brain.

Re: Housemarque Is Working on an Unannounced AAA Game

Sanctanox

@AdamNovice He was right. Resogun was a great launch title and I was VERY angry that a lot of reviews didn't even bother to have a look at this game, they just ignored it. Only after a while they realised how good it was. Same now with Astrobot for VR. It is a milestone in gaming history and it just doesn't get the media hype like the 500th first person shooter or open world rpg.

Re: Housemarque Is Working on an Unannounced AAA Game

Sanctanox

I loved Housemarque games. Played Resogun for hundreds of hours and was so so so disappointed that they left Playstation for Stormdivers which in my opinion will not be a big success because it is just another game in a market with lots of bigger games already in. They are too late to the party. So I am very happy to hear they are working on a new AAA project. And I am quite sure it will come to playstation (maybe not exclusively but that's not imporant). Maybe Sony helps them out because Sony must know how good Housemarque is.
