I really hope they patch the resolution of the PSVR version on PS5 soon because the game clearly does not use the full resolution of the headset on PS4.
I really hope a lot of PSVR games get a PS5 patch to increase the resolution as many VR games don't use the maximum resolution of the headset. Gun Club VR devs, please listen
I have 4 TB of storage on my PS4. I really hope you can connect more than one additional SSD. I hate to delete and redownload games. I want a quite big library on my system, at least in 1-2 years from now.
Great, my 9 year old son tried to play Mincecraft on Oculus Quest Link but hated it because the headset is so heavy and uncomfortable. He loves to play on PSVR, even for hours. So this is great news.
@get2sammyb I can live with framerate. Resolution is just not that important. I have an 120inch screen and a native 4k projector and most people can hardly see the difference between native 4k and upscaled 2k-Bluray. But everybody sees HDR. So much for resolution.
I have 4TB of HDD space in my PS4 and it is FULL. So I will only play PS4 games on the PS5 if they have higher framerates or s.th. like that. I hope you can connect an external HDD to the PS5 for PS4 games because I don't want to use precious SSD memory for PS4 games. At least not for all games.
@Geordiedave Because those people are angry because NOT A SINGLE peaceful action in the last years changed ANYTHING. I am against riots, too. But I can totally understand the reason for it.
@Bestintheworld10 I will even preorder the first day preorder is possible because waiting too long might mean you have to wait weeks after the release of the hardware.
@FullbringIchigo They would never ignore a PS5 because they want to make money. They ignored the DS because they did not sell enough games on it. And creating a 60FPS mode is easy as hell in a 4k world. I am a programmer myself. It is just a few minutes of work. Just offer a 2k mode and maybe deactive 1-2 graphic features. Done. It is WAY more work to make a switch version than to make a 60fps version of almost every game on the market.
I hate this approach for years now. They always prefer resolution and graphic details. Why not offer a 60FPS mode. If I were Sony I would force developers at least to provide a 60FPS mode for every game.
@AFCC Unfortunately yes. I say unfortunately because although Spiderman is a great game it is just one of many. But Ratchet and Clank is a rare genre nowadays and I love it so Ratchet would be great. And as they are good VR developers for PCVR I really hope they will also make a PSVR (2) game in the future.
I wait for the PS5 or at least the VR-version. But I still bought the game day one to support the game and really hope that the PS5 version will be free for PS4 version owners.
I have 4 TB of storage (2 internal 2 external) and I really wonder how I will handle all my games on the PS5. I'll have to use my PS4 for my older games and only use some frequently played PS4 games on the PS5. PS5 storage could be extremely expensive. We'll see.
I prefer playing on console in spite of having a good gaming PC. I just hate all the problems with a PC. I only used it lately for PC VR and even this made me mad. Error messages OUTSIDE VR on the Windows desktop, problems with sound, etc. I just love consoles. Even the Oculus Quest is way better if you DON'T connect it to a PC and use it like a console. And to all the PC lovers: I respect your choice. I was a PC guy for 15 years but I really like the easy console way nowadays.
@CHADW1N But then the download will take much longer. The old method is good for people with very very fast internet. The new method is good for less data transfer in the internet and people with not so fast internet.
The resolution in PSVR is just too bad. Looks like below 720p. I hope they will patch the game at PS5 launch. Then this game might be really great in VR.
@gamer89 Correct. I cannot believe to this day that Nintendo can just do whatever they want and the fanboys love it. The switch is BY FAR the most expensive console on the market if you play more than just 2-3 games. But obviously that's what a lot of switch owners just do.
@TowaHerschel7 I just love the internet. You wrote "learned nothing". There are NO facts out there at all and you don't even write "would have learned".
Didn't like the first one for two reasons: 30FPS is HORRIBLE in platformers and I often just didn't know where to go next. Always had to look in walkthroughs. So I will wait for a test if I get this one.
Japanese people spend a lot of time in public transportation and they work long hours. So mobile gaming might be the only way for them to play games.
I hardly play mobile and I hate that the switch has no achievement or trophy system. That's why I hardly use my switch at all. Only for some Nintendo exclusives.
Overcooked is a good game but the problem is that the majority of gamers ignore indy titles and only want AAA-titles. In my opinion a lot of indy titles are way better than some AAA ones but that is only my opinion. But what I dislike: A few month ago we got 2-4 games for PS4 (cross buy VITA titles). There was almost always a good game in the list. This ended. So I hoped for 3 PS4 titles at least.
I am really happy about the specs. Imagine the graphics in VR on the PS5 even on the first gen PSVR. Imagine the fast loading times. I really hope they also support external harddrives (for smaller games), shareplay, etc. But as it is compatible with PS4 games this should be a no brainer.
If a games like the From Software ones would have an easy setting the game would only be a normal action game. The difficulty level forces you to learn the fighting mechanics and at the end you have a lot of fun with it. If you could switch to easy mode the game would not be the same at all. On the other hand: There should be a demo version of these very hard games. Speding a lot of money and realizing you can't even kill the first boss is a big big problem.
@RawnDawn I am absolutely calm. And personally I wouldn't even change my username. But: Computers and software development were not invented 10 years ago. Sony should have not made such a mistake even 30 years ago. It is just embarrising.
I wonder if PSN name changes will come with PS5. As a software developer myself I have absolutely no excuse for them. That was just HORRIBLE programming. If you create a database you would never ever use the actual username as a reference for anything. You would always work with an alias like a big number or whatever. You learn this kind of thinking in the first month of software developing or even by using your brain.
@JJ2 So you say not "digital" only "physical" count?. Where is the difference. The publishers even earn more money on the digitals. And I cannot read in the article about physical only.
I happend to play Persona 5 the last few days for more than 20 hours and I think it is WAY too much talking. The characters talk so so much that I can't stand it anymore.
This is not an JRPG. It is a visual novel with JRPG elements. For 1 hour of gameplay you have 2-3 hours of clicking through dialog.
@AdamNovice He was right. Resogun was a great launch title and I was VERY angry that a lot of reviews didn't even bother to have a look at this game, they just ignored it. Only after a while they realised how good it was. Same now with Astrobot for VR. It is a milestone in gaming history and it just doesn't get the media hype like the 500th first person shooter or open world rpg.
I loved Housemarque games. Played Resogun for hundreds of hours and was so so so disappointed that they left Playstation for Stormdivers which in my opinion will not be a big success because it is just another game in a market with lots of bigger games already in. They are too late to the party. So I am very happy to hear they are working on a new AAA project. And I am quite sure it will come to playstation (maybe not exclusively but that's not imporant). Maybe Sony helps them out because Sony must know how good Housemarque is.
Astro Bot is a milestone in gaming history. I play video games since the late 70s. Every new level in this game made me almost have tears in my eyes of pure joy. Something completely new, if you see videos of that game you will not understand its brilliance. You have to wear the headset. One of the best games I have EVER played in my whole life.
@Tsurii That is just stupid. The Platinum is a MOTIVATION thing not to just rush through a game but to play it will all its challenges. THAT is the reason for trophies. To tell you what you can do in the game and not just rushing through it. And a Platinum is the final motivation to do so.
Clumsy controls! That's the hype train. Every other game would have gotten a 9/10 because of the controls. The controls were always the problem with that developer. Great games but never perfect controls.
