Re: Review: Manual Samuel (PS4)

@johncalmc None specifically, it's more to do with the way it's presented. It's not uncommon for people to be involved in car accidents similar to the story in this game and be left with a disability that makes their life a misery. Maybe I'm too sensitive but a lot of the humor I didn't find funny and i'm sure lots of people will feel the same way I did when I played it.

@themcnoisy You actually do and you have to shower afterwards cause more pee goes on you than in the toilet. Then when you are showering the narrator describes Sam as a "mantis trying to explain how to ride a bicycle"

@Boerewors I would agree entirely, it shouldn't be deducted marks for not including leaderboards or daily runs as the game is not supposed to be focussed on competing with friends scores it's more enjoyable to just try and beat the game. Also not many other rogue-likes include leaderboards, The binding of Isaac doesn't, Nuclear Throne does but they never really worked and I'm not sure if rogue legacy did.

@Johnnycide Absolutely! This is an excellent little title. I prefer this to Nuclear Throne and that is a great game. I'm not sure if I prefer it to the binding of Isaac but with the new DLC for that coming out in a few weeks there is plenty of rogue like action to be had

@Dichotomy whilst playing I never had to combo the directional buttons, I'm not sure how it's played on the PC version but on the ps4 you use the arrow keys to move (or analogue stick) and then the face buttons for spells and items. Attacking is done using the arrow keys as well, just press in the direction you want to attack. All the controls feel really responsive and don't hinder the experience in any way.

@sinalefa Although there is music it isn't the main focus of the title, it's subtle but all of the music is wonderfully created to fit with the tempo of the combat perfectly. Most of the time with the rhythmic gameplay you'll just do it naturally without paying much attention to the music at all, instead you'll be focussed on fighting your foes.
