@gbanas92 Graham, is there much combat in this game or is it all just defenseless fleeing? Also is there a good variety of enemies or do all of them feel similar?
@get2sammyb Yeah, I've been enjoying this type of metroidvania style game lately, especially Forma.8. Although I have hit a few road blocks in Forma.8, most I eventually found a way through but it's hard as I can't find a guide online for a little assistance in the tougher areas. Hopefully I'll enjoy Rain World just as much.
With Yooka Laylee, Snakepass and Crash Bandicoot all coming out soon 3D platformer fans are really spoilt for choice. I'll be getting all three, no doubt.
@themcnoisy I would say although the two games look similar they play very differently. Badlands is fast paced and linear whereas Forma.8 is slow paced and open. Both games take this 2d formula a different way and both come out with excellently entertaining content.
@Tonloc27 There is a map that you can access on L1 but it only shows you rooms you have previously entered. As for collectibles they are counted up but it doesn't tell you the exact amount. There is however a progress percentage for each game slot on the main menu.
@Bliquid You can take a few items into the next run by putting them in the dogs bag. There aren't any unlocks, the crafting system is reset at the start of each run. So all the craftable items discovered in a run need rediscovering in the next, similar to Don't Starve.
@uMuffin It is harsh on the difficulty, the worst part is definitely the wolves which will destroy you if you don't notice them. But the game is good at balancing it out, with the use of the dog's bag and the check points certain areas can be avoided altogether. I would say it's on par with Don't Starve in difficulty, as with any game it gets easier the more you play.
@carlos82 @Brunin73 The levels have a grid over the top of them and so you are able to choose a material and then draw it on the grid. You can make it whatever length you'd like and connect it to other materials. As for levels, there are over 50 normal levels and there are some extra sloped bridge levels as well. I wasn't able to complete all the levels so I can't tell you an exact figure. Each level can vary in length it all really depends on your bridge designing skills. Some took me 5 mins, others 30.
Overcooked is a brilliant game and the free Christmas DLC is such a blast, using a flamethrower to cook turkeys and also burn down the kitchen is utter chaos.
With the announcement of The Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+, I'll be returning to the game in the hope of unlocking everything. Other than that a bit of Smite, Overwatch and Rocket League will take up the rest of my weekend.
