I was completely satisfied with the original ending. I understand the grudge if they promised something else but I was unaware of this at the time. I respect all endings in movies, books and games. It is what it is and I'm only experiencing it as it was made.
Nowadays it feels like people expect writers, musicians and other artists to ask them beforehand what they want to see, hear or experience and make the end product to satisfy their needs. It's ridiculous and it's killing creativity.
I'm having a blast with my good ol' PS4 and maybe I'll get Switch this year and clear the backlog on that. Honestly, PS5 doesn't appeal to me lot at this point.
I think Fatal Frame/Project Zero 5 was actually a great game when it came out. A treat for japanese horror fans like myself.
RE8 and Alan Wake not so much. Horror as a genre has seen better days but at least the market isn't oversaturated by running simulators รก la Outlast anymore. Alien Isolation perfected that whole thing and none should even try to best that.
Of course "winning side" could mean something more abstract but it's still odd to claim someone to be blinded by greed because one has left the winning side. Like... what?
Ok, I'm not too fond of demos in general and this nonsense only confirms that I will wait for the reviews and then decide whether I'll have it or not and which console I'll play it on.
I don't mind horror games being a bit on the short side. The terror wears off quite quickly and then you're just playing through a game with no thrills. Throw in a massive final bullet-sponge boss fight and there you go. You're officially ruined the game.
Finish and delete is my protocol so space is almost never an issue. Also, these sizes are still reasonable. I expect huge games later on. Like 200 g's with patches.
My experience with Wasteland 2 on PS4 was plagued with bugs and glitches. Got through it though. Well, almost. When I launched the last enemy of the game into oblivion the game crashed and I couldn't make myself go through the final battle again.
Still interested in this one. I just hope it won't crash every single time I play it like its predecessor.
Looks great. I too welcome an actual fighting mechanism. I've had way too many "let's make you feel helpless with the cheapest possible way and not include any weapons" experiences.
Glad to hear this. One of those games I got from the library (a real one with books and stuff) out of curiosity but had to return before I could finish it. Some of it was good and some not so much, but overall a nice atmospheric game.
FPS games were so different back then. System shock 2 is one of my all time favorites but I'm not sure any game will ever capture the exact same atmosphere.
This game seems to cross my mind regularly and I've been thinking about revisiting it so many times. My playthrough was kind of rushed and I feel like I didn't experience it fully. While Dishonored has a proper Thief feel to it, Prey was definitely System Shock 2.
Great game and VR would be the icing on the... Space cake?
Shameless copying of successful concepts has always very much been around in gaming. If you're making an unlicensed carbon copy then it's more like counterfeit.
I love how it's not overly realistic but a combination of realistic physics and great atmospheric art style. Would love a full game with this kind of mood. Great job.
Murdered: Soul Suspect is actually quite nice. Nothing that special in the mechanics apartment and the gameplay can feel quite dull at times but still an atmospheric experience and definitely worth the price.
Doesn't sound half bad. The description of the inventory system reminds me of the backpack system in Zombi U. I enjoy the option of pausing the action via inventory when things get heated but it does sometimes feel like cheating especially in horror games.
Not sure about this. At least RE4 and 5 had some village thing going on and when it comes to first person, Outlast 2 comes to mind. Seems made up to me. A village setting would be playing it safe. Extremely so. If it turns out being true, I'm in nonetheless.
To be honest, they have tried something new all the time with the series. The only thing holding the stuff together is the B movie tripes and the underlying evil corporation stuff. I'm ready to move on, just make it work like RE7 did and it's all good.
How do you do this in the game though? Can you add your own images and decorate your house with them? Seems worrying if that's the case. N is quite cautious with stuff like that.
My view on walking sims have shifted from "so this nonsense is gaming now" to "let's see what this one has to offer".
Gone Home pretty much perfected the low-key emotional story telling while the likes of Layers of fear made the concept work in horror context. Not sure if this is worth my time but I'm always curious when it comes to walking sims. It's a nice change of pace for a slowly middle-aging guy like myself.

Re: Infamous 3DO Romantic Comedy Plumbers Don't Wear Ties Plunges PS5, PS4 This Year
How on earth do you "remaster" that pixelated junk ๐
Don't even know how many times I've seen that AVGN episode featuring this "game".

Re: Did You Know the PS Store Wishlist Notifies You of PS5, PS4 Game Sales?
My PS App settings have all kinds of notifications on apparently. Never had any though.
Re: Alan Wake Remastered (PS5) - Compelling Thriller Derailed by Tedious, Repetitive Combat
All the atmosphere in the world can't save the game from the awful combat. 6/10 is spot on.
Re: Bloober Team Announces New Layers of Fear Game in Teaser Trailer
I loved the first one and found the second one rather dissapointing. Always interested in their games though.
Re: Far Cry 6 Sure Does Look Like Far Cry in Latest Previews
Weren't the enemy health bars already introduced in New Dawn?
Anyway, looking forward to this. I really don't want the series to change too much to be honest.
Re: Fatal Frame Producer Wants to Make a New Game in the Series
I played this on Wii U. It didn't review well but I loved it.
Re: Random: PS2 Game Boxes Were Nearly Extremely Weird
I once checked the definition of fugly and it was this.

Re: Poll: Who's Your Favourite Mass Effect Legendary Edition Squadmate?
Garrus and Tali are the correct answers but many of the characters are memorable. Even the annoying ones have charm.

Re: In Rays of the Light Looks Like a Creepy, Atmospheric Adventure on PS5, PS4
Nice pick. Looks pretty decent. I don't expect a long game but then again I don't have much game time anyways.
Would add this to my wish list if it still existed thanks a lot Sony.
Re: Aliens: Fireteam Squads Up in 25 Minute PS5, PS4 Gameplay Demo
Looks like something that would hold my attention for 17 minutes.
Where's my Alien Isolation 2?
Re: Resident Evil Village Is 'Much Larger' Than Resident Evil VII: Biohazard

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.10 Out Now on PS5, PS4, Includes Crash Fixes and Stability Improvements
Seems like a good start. Still a loooong way until I will purchase this game though. I don't even consider it released yet to be honest.
Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Map Size Estimate Suggests It's Twice as Big as GTA 5
I wouldn't mind a smaller map but at least Night City is interesting to look at unlike achingly boring Liberty City.
Re: Can You Name These PlayStation Launch Games?
6/15. I think it really shows that PS4 is my first Sony console. I mean, I've played them all but never owned them.

Re: The Lord of the Rings: Gollum PS5 Trailer Looks Better Than Screenshots
Well at least it looks like a professional game now. Even if it's just a pre-rendered trailer... ish type of thing.
Couldn't possibly care less about anything LoTR related though.
Re: Guide: New PS4 Games This Week (24th August to 30th August)
Wait, Wasteland 3 is out this week?!
Re: Remothered: Broken Porcelain Details Its Spooky Residents
Yes, looking forward to this. The first one was creepy, shocking even. Really old school.
Re: How Well Do You Know Naughty Dog?
6/10 mostly by guessing. I'm always underwhelmed with their games anyway ๐

Re: Gallery: Cyberpunk 2077 Screenshots Are Stunning, But How Will It Look on PS4?
Looks preeeetty amazing! Can't wait to play it when I can afford a PS5 in 2022.
Re: Poll: How Much Do You Think the PS5 Will Cost?
Well, let's take a stab at it:
With disc drive: 549
Without 479
Both too much for me at launch.
Re: System Shock Makes Surprise Return with Gameplay Trailer
FPS games were so different back then. System shock 2 is one of my all time favorites but I'm not sure any game will ever capture the exact same atmosphere.
This is still interesting for sure.

Re: Maneater - Underwater Far Cry Is Fintastic
Nice. Underwater action seems kinda worrying since I mostly hate swimming and diving in most games, but I'll check this out once the price is right.
Fun fact: Spielberg first thought Williams' two-note theme for Jaws was a joke. I mean, who wouldn't.
Re: How Well Do You Know Crash Bandicoot?
7/15. Never played any of the games. Guessing useless stuff is my super power.

Re: Can You Name the PS4 Game from Just the Box Art?
A couple of tricky ones that aren't really my type of games, but 10/10 still. I guess my interest in graphic design finally pays off.
I will add this to my CV.
Re: You Can Customise Your Genitals in Cyberpunk 2077
Ok ok, so can you visit a shop and have a Prince Albert or something?

Re: Deliver Us The Moon - The Fate of Humanity Is in Your Hands
Nice. Those screenshots look stunning. Going to check this out eventually.
Re: Gallery: PS5 Fans Are Getting Creative with DualSense Colour Combos
I always choose black when available but maybe I'll go wild this time around.
The white pink is my favorite design of the bunch. Wouldn't buy it but it's so nice to look at. Can't wait for the official selection.
Re: Rumour: Resident Evil 8: Village Due Early 2021 on PS5, Redesigned Chris Redfield and Stalker Enemies

Re: Resident Evil 3 - Competent Remake Feels Like a Misfire
Doesn't seem like a full-priced game to be honest. Will definitely get this down the line but RE8 is what I'm really looking forward to.
Still, I'm really glad for all the love the series seems to get from both the developer and the audience. Almost feels like RE5 and 6 never happened.

Re: Overpass - Extreme Off-Road Racer Is a Rough Ride
"Vehicles sound awful"
As far as realism goes, at least they got that one right.
Re: We Can't Make Head Nor Tail of This The Wonderful 101: Remastered Gameplay
Oh, how I hated this game. Looks appealing still but I won't give it a third chance. I know better.
