@BrockSmith Tried my Platinums the other night with the new firmware, it didn't offer any of the adjustability options shown for the newer headset / earbuds. Nevermind, I'll keep rocking my Platinums until the battery is no longer viable, then I'll just use it as a wired headset.

@xDD90x That happened to my Platinum's earcups as well. I figured it was a combination of the heat they endure when I'm wearing them as well as the climate here in Barbados. I take care of my things as well and couldn't stand to see the peeling on an otherwise new looking headset, so I removed the earcup pads and used rubbing alcohol to remove the rest of the faux leather coating and the adhesive residue. Afterwards I washed them by hand and let them air dry. Took a bit of doing, but what was left is a kind of velvety fabric covering the foam that still feels good on the ears.

I use the PS Platinum headset I bought for my PS4 years ago on my PS5. They really don't have much mileage on them and still sound great. Hoping this update supports the older Sony headsets as well as the current/new range.

I'm looking forward to this. Not sure just yet if it's coming to movie theatres here in Barbados, but if not I sure hope it ends up on Netflix or one of the other streaming platforms.

Maybe they've further reduced the amount of copper in the console's heatsink.
Is it too early for there to have been a die shrink on the APU used in the PS5?

I'd really like to know the MSRP first. I'm kinda expecting USD$150-$170. Considering a normal DualSense costs BD$200 (USD$100) here in Barbados, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Edge ends up costing BD$300-$350 here. Probably more, depending on the retailer. In which case, I'll say 'Hell nah, I'm good with the standard DS."

I know it's a corporation run by living, breathing, feeling humans, so mistakes are always possible, but Sony's been scoring a number of own goals and taking some body blows of late, hasn't it?

@LiamCroft I really appreciated this counterpoint. I am planning to get the game and I am a cat owner myself, but this article pretty much perfectly sums up what I've been thinking about as reasons why it may not be worth it to get it, even if just to hold off for a bit. Thank you.

@SamMR Because even though I'm about 85% sure I'm going to get this game, I still like to read some reviews to get a general idea of whether or not I'm going to buy at launch, or wait a bit.

@Ryany even if it rates a 5/10 critically, trust and believe it'll be someone out there's GOTY contender. It's what you like to play and what you get the most enjoyment out of that counts.

@carlos82 would be great if Polyphony Digital uses this as a positive and removes the always-online requirement from GT7 and GT Sport before that game's servers go offline.

I've been waiting for this announcement. I'm glad to know the current-gen version is finally (almost) here. It would be great if the developers have been able to upgrade the generic looping engine audio to sound like the real trucks.

@Dezzy70 Looking on enviously at the bundles you lot get in the UK. Here in Barbados, a PS5 disc edition alone (no bundled game(s), headset or racing wheel) costs $2,300 😬

As a graphic designer myself, I'm a bit disappointed by this Street Fighter logo, even if it does turn out to be a placeholder. I mean, come on, Capcom is developing a new entry in a decades-old franchise, surely they had tons of time to finalize a new logo that would be instantly recognizable. Don't bring it possibly being for e-sports into it; this isn't even suitable for a tournament, let alone a new game in an established franchise. I know 'minimalist' logo design is a current trend, but it worked for Nissan and Kia, it doesn't quite work for Street Fighter.

Yeah yeah, that's great and all, but what I really want to see is a HFW skin and DLC for Astro's Playroom. Think about it. It's preinstalled on every PS5 sold, and owners who may have already played through the game but not yet bought HFW may be tempted to reinstall it and get a little taste of the new game. Astro's Playroom could be the perfect 'upcoming game' marketing vehicle if Sony put in a little work.

I appreciated this write-up on the PS4 version. Hopefully you guys can do a similar companion article on GT7 for PS4 when that game launches.

Yes folks, the venerable PS4 can still produce graphics of this quality. Not like the machine that we've spent the last 8 years playing on is suddenly decrepit. I'm very happy to see it perform this well into it's life cycle. Owners can rest assured their investment can keep chugging along, even if it may sound like a jet.

@get2sammyb Can PS4 owners that have the PS Plus PS4 version of FFVII Remake installed on the PS4 add the PS5 Upgrade to the library in advance of getting a PS5? I have a PS5 coming in a few days and would like to continue the game when I get set up.

I'm so glad Guerrilla Games dropped these screenshots, looks awesome and proves the PS4 is still punching above its weight visually. I just hope the framerate is solid.

Great that they haven't been leaked... yet. It's good to have a bit of a surprise every now and then, even if the games that are given aren't always to my taste. Ya know, kinda like how things used to be before Johnny on Twitter casually puts up the full PS Plus lineup because his uncle is a janitor at SIE who happens to know Jim Ryan's OneDrive password.

I'm hoping to finally get to play Horizon Zero Dawn. I bought it on sale ages ago but haven't got a chance to play it and see what all the hype was about.

Funny how this cricket game is currently the only way you'd see a good consistent performance out of the West Indies, since the real life team has been performing below par for eons now.
